UM Review: Chase Your Words -‘Forever and Always’

We can’t get enough of pop-punk. While we may want pop-punk to sound a certain way, we are open to any song that we can relate to, and everyone can relate to love and the chaotic emotions that can come with any aspect of it. For pop-punk band Chase Your Words, from Vancouver, British Columbia, the concept of writing love songs is not merely a tactic to swoon you, but rather, to make you feel understood. Their new EP, Forever and Always, manages to showcase love stories from multiple angles. While these stories can play in a full circle, it seems to more-so display as phases of a relationship rather than coming to a full resolution. Band members Chris Siglos (Guitar/Vocals), James Songalia (Guitar/Vocals), Curtis St Louis (Bass/Vocals), and Alex Johrden (Drums) are not afraid to design a story that may be a little comical or exaggerated, which can easily remind you of songs from Blink-182 and All Time Low.
