I applaud A League of Their Own (2022-) for accurately portraying the experience of being a queer woman trying to figure out if another woman is actually flirting with you. Like are you just really nice and complimentary or do you want to make out???

I don't even know where to begin. We got a few glimpses of all things I think are what make New Amsterdam great but it was marred by all the unnecessary drama.

I'm not sure about all the shock factor decions, they were doing too much. Some were unnecessary imho.

My knees became cold when Floyd said "How are you gonna break it to Helen...."

Up until that moment I NEVER DOUBTED that idealistic fool. I have been rolling my eyes 🙄🙄at anyone who was all "Max ain't going" blah blah blah because are you watching the same show? 🤔🤔

Then my heart dropped into my goddamn stomach when he looked and Helen then back at the hospital and Helen's face fell. I had to pause because crap I didn't prepare for disappointment.

Then she said that teary eyed "Burden me" and it broke me because she too had a millisecond of doubt.

But that whipped fool just strode to Helen and laid one on her.............

Bonus: My heart burst in florescent colours.

And that ladies and gentlemen is why New Amsterdam remains my favourite TV show.

In case you guys aren't aware, I LOVE NA Season 4 all of it, I am so hopeful for the future. Idk I can't allow myself to think past Love Heals...... That's what we are all about nothing about that is breakuppy. I welcome obstacles- I'm not fazed.

I also am weary about Max ACTUALLY leaving. I do want to see how they don't F with us though because Helen is my queen and I will die for her.

My favourite less obvious and probably underated moment from the premiere:

Dr Wilder : "Doctor Sharpe is thee best there is I have always been humbled by her passion her intelligence and also ooh let's face it she is super foxy."

Dr Goodwin : "Wellllll I don't know about....yeah I don't, we're not uhhm yeah....."

Today's challenge was a bit difficult for me. Choosing just one episode was a feat, but in the end this one won by a margin. Admittedly last 4 episodes of S3 were🔥🔥in the end I could not deny that the angst here was everything for me.

😭😭😭😭 I wish you beloved you when you said that. Actually this whole call is amazing. Her hushed tones and the way she looks away from her boyfriend to semi flirt with her friend🧐🧐🧐

Then THIS!!

The familiarity with which she grabs Max' coffee 🤭🤭🤭 and his reaction🤯🤯🤯. He is so thrown like they share a cup all the time, and he has no idea why she is acting weird. That's LEVELS. Its way too comfortable and I love it.

The way she smiles at him and tilted her head. I just can't🙌🙌🙌. It's all so simple and underated. I loved that scene and it took me a few rewatches to appreciate that moment. Total goofballs

This episode was an emotional roller coaster for this duo. We saw Helen's demeanor shift the moment Akash calls out her thing with Max. And here we see how thrown Max was by the idea of losing Helen.

My favourite thing though is Max fumbling over his words the minute he entered her personal space. He tried to back up and backtrack but that moment was already charged and I know I completed those half sentences with my own tooth rotting fluffy confessions.

Then there's the looks. The way they look at each other like it's a language on its own.

I'm a sucker for the Not quite unrequited love trope/ mutual pining.

Do I even need to say anything?

Sharpwin Week 2021 - Day 1: The scene/moment that made you ship them

↳1x01 Pilot 

I fell in love with Helen Sharpe first. The British accent sent me😍😍. I loved her attitude and their interaction in this scene. I knew after this that l was not gonna jump off this ship. It changed nothing for me finding out about Georgia. She was just a hurdle imho.

These two are both very private people and yet from day 1 they were open with one another and that for me told me all I needed to know. So yeah I started shipping them from their first scene.

@fikfreak thank you so much for this beautiful story. The ending breaks me every time. I have been secretly hoping for another chapter, maybe even a sequel. I honestly think Helen doing a walk of shame at her parent's house could be hilarious. Especially with Luna being with her mom . .......Also, the awkward morning after talk when Max comes to fetch his daughter 😭😭😭🙆🙆🙆.

Anyway, it's still the best story I have read about these two. And I have read all of them

Here is chapter 2 y'all, and yes last night got me so hype. I had to edit a bit of this chapter so I could incorporate some of last night cause I felt like it fit in nicely with where I’m trying to take this story anyway, and GAAAHHH I’m so in love with this slow burn for these two. Y'all know Fik loves drama and angst and I am being fed!

So I hope you guys enjoy, and I’m already working on edits for chapter 3, so hopefully I can have it posted by next Wednesday as well. I like this tempo and it keeps me invested in finishing my edits to complete the story.
