once again spiraling thinking about how Owen as DMA was able to grab Curt's gun and move it away six times and disarm him when Curt interrupted the arms deal, but Owen just stood there and allowed himself to be shot in the head during the staircase scene. Curt had recovered enough to be more of a threat, but Owen didn't even try to save himself.

Like the distance being DMA provided allowed him to think more clearly and prevent Curt from killing him. Or like he truly thought Curt wouldn't be able to pull the trigger. Or that he didn't particularly care to fight to stay alive anymore.

Anyway I’m still thinking about how Owen and Curt first met. Were they assigned the same mission on purpose? Or did they meet by accident, pursuing the same objective on opposing sides? Did they meet mid-infiltration, Owen gliding through perfectly and Curt mucking it up every step of the way- but charming him nevertheless? Did they meet off the job first, only to meet mid-mission and be thrown off by the realization that that handsome man they met at the cleaner’s is just as dangerous as they are? Did they meet strapped to the same torture device or attempting to charm the same girl? Did Owen first see Curt tied to a chair, grinning into the face of his tormentor? Did Curt first see Owen standing next to Cynthia, practical and professional and too perfect to stay unruffled? Did they see each other and think “this man will change me”? Did Curt fall first? Did Owen? Who leaned in for the first kiss? Who leaned in for the last?

in other news, i have a couch in my living room that comfortably sits three people that I'm willing to rent out for $6 a month

i think that was one of the only apology videos i've ever seen that felt heartfelt and really dealt with the concerns in a mature and useful way. it's sad to see a community i've felt so home in be so at odds. i hope the watcher family recovers from this. it's everyone's first time being alive and the watcher boys first time running a company. it is genuinely heartwarming to see that despite the oversight, this community is still valued by the people it is based around. (and just because i care to put my two cents in about audience reactions, remember that doing what you have to do to stay alive in the capitalist world we live in is not inherently pro-capitalism. and i would rather pay for independently produced art that is made with genuine care and passion than anything made by a conglomerate just to capitalize on our boredom. this is not to excuse the way this announcement was handled or the poor planning, just to remind us all to stay compassionate.)

I'm gonna be a theatre nerd on main here. Okay, the original recording of Christopher Plummer singing Edelweiss was released yesterday and honestly, I just want them to re-release the film with his vocals, not the dub. It feels much more natural and organic to him as a performer. What do I mean by that? Well, the man who dubbed Plummer sounded lovely, absolutely nothing wrong. But with Plummer's voice back in, I noticed subtle shifts in his acting that I hadn't before. The original dub is "Hello I am here and I am singing a pretty song, the end." Plummer's version is "I love my country, I love my family...and I think I love this woman who came into my home." And the tiny shifts in his voice match the expressions on his face and the way his eyes suddenly glint in a different way as the Captain. In conclusion, by God that man could act and he shouldn't have been dubbed in the first place. Maybe that's why he was always reticent to sing it in public.
