According to a leak via Evleaks, pre-orders of the Galaxy S9 will begin just days later on 1 March, and the handset is tipped to start shipping two weeks later on 16 March.
Price According to early reports, the Galaxy S9 will be £100 more expensive than last year’s S8, with pricing set to start at £789. By the same logic, expect the Galaxy S9+ to start from £879 SIM-free.
However, TechRadar has since learnt that the S9 will only be £50 pricier than its S8 sibling, at £739 SIM-free.
Here in Blighty, EE has prematurely confirmed that it’ll be offering the Galaxy S9 once it’s available. Interested customers can register their interest on the operator’s website.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Galaxy S9 is a great phone
Where the S8 was great, the S9 is only fine.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 is a great phone, but one that hasn’t really kicked on from the Galaxy S8, bringing a very similar design and screen to 2017’s version. The improved biometrics were sorely needed, and the camera is a leap forward, but the amazing low light capabilities have resulted in sacrifices elsewhere. A top, top phone, but the S9 Plus outshines it.
At first glance, the Samsung Galaxy S9 might not look like much of an upgrade – it’s very, very similar in design to the Galaxy S8 from last year.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Plus Unboxing
However, that was an excellent handset, and Samsung has decided to stick with the design this year and put its efforts into making the phone sturdier, faster and more useful day to day.
See all Samsung Galaxy S9 deals
It’s easily one of the most powerful phones on the market, has novel features in the shape of AR Emoji that are created in your own image, and a camera that’s utterly unlike anything we’ve seen on the market before.
Samsung has also been hard at work fixing the biometric issues that plagued the Galaxy S8, making some subtle tweaks that aren’t apparent until you’ve used the phone for a while and find that it’s just so much easier to unlock securely.
But these plus points are all set against a backdrop of a very high price; we’re not talking iPhone X levels here, but it’s still one of the more expensive options you can buy.
So if you’re looking to replace a 2016 phone do all the new features really offer enough to make the Galaxy S9 a worthwhile upgrade, or is the cheaper Galaxy S8 still the best phone in the world?
Price and release date
The Samsung Galaxy S9 release date has been set for March 16, with pre-orders having been open for a while around the world.
In the China, Galaxy S9 Pre order price $330.
There aren’t any storage variants of this phone though, with only the 64GB option on sale.

AR Emoji
Too much of a novelty
Needs a more powerful facial recognition
It took us a little while to come around to the idea of AR Emoji… and then not too long to get bored by them again.
Let’s be honest here: these are a clear response to Apple’s Animoji, which gained a lot of attention when the iPhone X launched, and which make use of the TrueDepth camera on the front of the iPhone X.
Samsung’s offering feels like a watered-down version of this, albeit one with a bit more personality. To create your own little avatar you simply smile into the front-facing camera, and the Galaxy S9 creates your own digital version of you.
Once it’s created, you can change your avi’s hair and skin color and choose an outfit – it’s a shame there aren’t more customisation options here, as the outfits are a bit limited and the hair colors aren’t particularly nuanced.
This may seem like a tiny thing, but if you can’t make your AR Emoji look like you then you – and your friends – are going to struggle to engage with it.
The GIF emoji are fun, but get tired quickly
In our testing we found that we needed to create our avatar a few times, as there were occasional glitches like a weird face shape or the wrong-colored eyes.
We also had to get used to the fact that it doesn’t look like us all the time, although in some of the instantly-generated GIFs you can use for social media we suddenly saw that our AR Emoji mimicked some of our features well from different angles.
Those GIFs are probably the best thing about this new feature – and they get tiresome relatively quickly. You send a few to friends on compatible apps (the AR Emoji GIFs are baked into the Galaxy S9’s keyboard, but you can’t add them in Twitter or Gmail, only in apps like WhatsApp at the moment), but the novelty wears off pretty quickly.
The other thing you can do is record a video of yourself speaking as the AR Emoji… and this is where things start to unravel. The Galaxy S9 picks up most of your features, but also gives your avatar a little flickering mouth or eye at times when the camera loses you.
It shows that, to make this feature work properly, brands need a more powerful camera, rather than just relying on software and the front-facing option.
AR Emoji are fun for a little while, but on their own they’re certainly not a reason to buy this phone.
Bixby is back… and better
Bixby Voice is still behind
Bixby Vision is far more useful
Bixby Vision returns more results… but some are not as accurate as others.
We were thoroughly disappointed by Bixby on the Galaxy S8 last year, as it promised to be the ultimate digital assistant and, well, it wasn’t.
It simply couldn’t do enough – it wasn’t able to work out what you wanted contextually, and it wasn’t able to start or control enough apps. We could forgive the gestation period for this feature if it wasn’t for the fact that Google Assistant is already on the phone, and incredibly capable.
However, Samsung has upgraded Bixby on the Galaxy S9, and kept the Bixby button on the side of the device to allow you to interact with your assistant. You use the button as on a walkie-talkie, pressing to talk to Bixby and releasing when you’ve delivered your command… but it’s a bit slow to catch up.
Bixby can be too literal – wanting to set a timer preset rather than just starting a countdown for example – and while you can ask it to take a picture and send it to a friend the whole process takes around 30 seconds – and that’s assuming Bixby can find the friend to start with – in which time you’d rather just do it manually.
The Galaxy S9 also keeps telling us that we can dictate using Bixby, but this was never 100% accurate – it was pretty darn good, considering that you’re essentially talking to a baby robot, but we needed to edit our words before sending.
Bixby Vision has come a long way though – and the fact that it’s turned off by default is just beautiful. No longer do the little green fireflies automatically dance across your viewfinder when you’re trying to take a picture of your car, dog, mother or laundry basket (to show her you’ve done it all) as the phone tries to work out what’s being looked at.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus: Best Android perfection achieved
Each year we look to Samsung’s Galaxy S release as the smartphone that will be purchased by the masses and it is clear that the Galaxy S9 Plus will be one of the best smartphones of 2018.
It may be an evolution of the successful Galaxy S8 Plus, but it improves in areas that fans specifically requested, proving that Samsung listens to its customers and is intent on making the best smartphone for everyone.
The S9 Plus has a fingerprint scanner smartly positioned on the center back below the dual cameras, enhanced audio capability with stereo speakers tuned by AKG, a dual camera experience, and an improved facial unlock method.
GALAXY S9 PLUS SPECIFICATIONS
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 2.8GHz 10nm octa-core Display: 6.2 inch, 2960 x 1440 pixels resolution Super AMOLED (570 ppi) Operating system: Android 8.0 Oreo RAM: 6GB LPDDR4 Storage: 64GB internal with microSD expansion card slot Cameras: 12 megapixel rear f/1.5 and f/2.4 super speed dual pixel OIS camera and 12 megapixel telephoto f/2.4 OIS camera. 8 megapixel f/1.7 front-facing camera Water resistance: IP68 water and dust rating Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, 1024QAM, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, ANT+, GPS, NFC Sensors: Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor, Pressure Sensor Battery: 3,500 mAh non-removable with Quick Charge 3.0 and fast wireless charging Dimensions: 158.1 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm and 189 grams Colors: Midnight Black, Lilac Purple, Coral Blue, Titanium Gray Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Plus Unboxing and Camera Review!!!
This is the first Android smartphone to launch with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor in the US. The processor brings the X20 LTE modem supporting 1.2 Gbps wireless network downloads, an improved Bluetooth 5 radio, and more.
I was sent a Midnight Black S9 Plus to test and plan to spend the next few weeks using it to help decide if I trade in my iPhone X for a Coral Blue S9 Plus at T-Mobile through its Jump On Demand program. Retail box contents include a USB Type-C to USB-A connector, a USB Type-C cable, AKG-branded earbuds with 3.5mm jack, and a SIM/microSD tray ejection pin.
galaxy-s9-plus-2.jpg
DisplayMate confirmed that the S9 and S9 Plus has the best smartphone display, even beating out the Apple iPhone X that has a Samsung created and Apple tuned OLED screen.
Thankfully, Samsung continues to include a standard 3.5mm headset jack, along with a solid pair of AKG earbuds in the retail package. The stereo speakers, one through the handset speaker and the other out the bottom, improve the audio experience. In comparison to the Apple iPhone X and Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the Galaxy S9 Plus is still in third though. The iPhone X sounds the best out of the three.
The volume button is positioned on the upper left with a new dedicated Bixby hardware button placed just above the middle of the left side. At this time when you press the button the Galaxy S8 Plus will launch Bixby cards. In the near future, pressing this button will launch the voice assistant.
The power button is on the right side and the quick shortcut to launch the camera with a double press is still supported. I was a bit disappointed to still see 64GB of internal storage, but the microSD card accessible via the top tray is a less expensive way to add serious storage capacity. A USB Type-C port is located between the headphone jack and second speaker on the bottom.
galaxy-s9-plus-3.jpg High end flagships today often employ a dual camera setup. We saw this first with Samsung last year on the Galaxy Note 8 and see it continue with an improved dual camera arrangement on the S Plus. It is a 12 megapixel variant with dual pixels for improved low light performance. The Galaxy S8 camera was one of the best last year and the S9 Plus continues to offer excellent performance. The dual cameras are nearly flush with the back, with just a slight raised edge around the camera lens. The fingerprint scanner is positioned below the two cameras, which is much more useful than the offset fingerprint scanner we saw last year. The flash and heart rate sensor are positioned to the right of the cameras.
The iris scanner is positioned above the display and is a very secure system for a variety of applications. Samsung’s new Intelligent Scan system pairs the iris scanner with the facial recognition system in order to help you unlock your phone quicker with a trade-off in the level of security.
The always-on display (AOD) on Samsung Galaxy devices continues to set the standard for these types of displays. There are several available options for the AOD, including different clocks, custom photo selector, use of GIFs on the AOD, and the ability to also customize the lock screen with these same options.
After a week of using the S9 Plus as my primary device while traveling across the country and back, I am able to go a full day with a single charge of the 3,500 mAh battery. It appears that battery life is about the same as the Galaxy Note 8. The fact that the Galaxy S8 Plus has wireless charging support means that my device is topped off most of the time since it is convenient to just set the S9 Plus down on a wireless charging pad while at my desk. While it is not an essential feature, wireless charging works well for me to keep my devices fully charged without touching a cable.
The Bixby button is still present, but this time Samsung gives you the ability to disable it for launching Bixby Home with a single press. You can still swipe over to a Bixby home screen panel or even choose to hide this and never even see Bixby Home if you desire. A press and hold of the Bixby button will still launch the Bixby voice control utility though. I know Bixby isn’t popular with most folks, but it is a very powerful assistant if you give it the time needed to fully understand its capabilities.
SOFTWARE
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus runs Android 8.0 Oreo. The eval unit I tested included the 1 February 2018 Android security patch. Samsung has been great at providing regular Android security updates, but don’t buy a Samsung Galaxy if you want to always have the latest version of Android. Samsung provides more on Galaxy devices than you will find on stock Android phones so you should buy a phone you know you will be happy with at the time of launch.
You can choose to have your home screen appear with just widgets and selected apps or have all apps appear on a home screen panel, similar to an iPhone. You can also choose to have a 4×5, 4×6, 5×5, or 5×6 grid appear on the home screen panels so that you can fully optimize the space available to you on the large 6.2 inch screen. The apps grid can also be either 4×6 or 5×6.
Similar to the Huawei EMUI and Apple iPhone experiences, swiping down from anywhere on an open area of the home screen panel will take you to the app launcher with a search bar at the top to help you quickly find and launch apps.
You can also press and hold on the virtual home button to launch Google Assistant. Tap on the recent apps button to choose which apps to launch in split screen mode. With 6.2 inches available to work with, you can be productive on the S9 Plus with two apps open side-by-side.
Like the Galaxy Note 8 and other previous Galaxy devices, you can swipe in from the right side to access Edge panel widgets and functions. The Note 8 brought us App Pair in order to have a one button shortcut to launch two apps on the display at once. That is now present on the S9 Plus too.
There are some Samsung apps included on the device, including Galaxy Apps, a web browser, file explorer, Samsung Health, Samsung+, an email client, calendar, contacts, image gallery with editing tools, messages app, SmartThings, Samsung Themes, secure folder, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Pay.
The email client is excellent for keeping my work Exchange account separate from my personal Gmail account. The image gallery is more functional than Google Photos, with advanced editing and creation tools available to the user.
The camera performs well with plenty of modes in the camera software to help you get creative and share your experiences in photos and video. These include food, panorama, pro, live focus, auto, super slow motion, AR Emoji, hyperlapse, food, and more than can be downloaded from Samsung. Samsung improved the user interface in the camera so that now you simply swipe right and left to switch modes. Filters, stickers, and other effects are also available on the bottom row of the viewfinder.
Super slow motion is the newest feature and one that makes the S9 Plus unique when compared to other phones on the market. It supports 960 fps and has the ability to automatically detect motion and capture that motion in a series of up to 20 short clips. Those clips can then be shared as GIFs.
There are a ton of camera settings accessible via the gear icon. These include voice control, floating camera button, motion photo, editing camera modes for the rear and front-facing cameras, photo and video resolution, and more.
Bixby Vision is also present in the camera by pressing the small Bixby Vision icon in the bottom left of the viewfinder. Bixby Vision now supports makeup, text, image, shopping, location, food, wine, and QR code utilities.

New Apple MacBook Pro 15″ with Touch Bar Laptop Review 2018
The product is available for sale without the tax for global buyers During 2018's Labor's Day sale promotion, Purchase tovisit : www.saleholy.com
The tech world with its Retina display, the all-new 15-inch MacBook Pro captures attention with another, much slimmer screen. Dubbed the Touch Bar, the touch-sensitive display strip above the newcomer’s keyboard brings a whole new way of interacting with the notebooks and its OS.
Of course, the Touch Bar is only one of the new features and improvements that the new MacBook Pro brings. The new model’s long list of improvements also includes Touch ID support, vastly improved display and audio, an all-new keyboard and trackpad, and a powerful new processor and graphics chip, all tucked into a redesigned ultra slim body.
Fresh Design and Exceptional Craftsmanship
The new MacBook Pro features beautiful design that’s clearly inspired by the looks of the 12-inch MacBook (think clean lines and no glowing Apple logo). There’s also a brand new Space Gray color that suits the notebook quite well.
Apple has made the notebook thinner and more compact than its predecessor, and the end result is truly stunning — the 15-inch MacBook Pro is hands-down the sleekest laptop in its class. The new model is barely thicker than half an inch and weighs only 4 pounds.
Most importantly, the new 15-inch MacBook Pro has a footprint that’s 20% smaller than the outgoing model’s. This is an impressive design and engineering feat by Apple, especially considering the high-end hardware that it packs.
The new MacBook Pro is also exceptionally crafted. Its aluminum body, just like in the case of its predecessor, will be the standard by which all premium laptops are measured for years to come.
Touch Bar Saves Time and Clicks
The defining hardware feature of the new MacBook Pro is the Touch Bar — a high-resolution multitouch display strip that changes its functionality depending on the apps you use and the tasks you perform. The Touch Bar makes interacting with macOS and its apps even more seamless and fun.
By default, the Touch Bar offers essential system controls in a collapsed strip on its right side. Expanding the strip brings the controls that we have grown accustomed to from Mac computers without a Touch Bar. The Touch Bar is also customizable, so you can truly make it your own.
The Touch Bar takes practically no time to get used to. It displays handy shortcuts that ultimately save you time and clicks. You can easily open Safari bookmarks and switch between tabs, format text in Pages, browse through and edit images in Photos, edit high-resolution video in Final Cut Pro X, and (of course) pick emojis in iMessage.
The amount of third-party apps that support the Touch Bar is unsurprisingly not large at the moment, though it grows on a daily basis. Currently, it covers the basics, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Pixelmator, Affinity Photo, and 1Password among others. Apple has opened the API of the Touch Bar to developer, so the list will expand quickly.
Hardware Options
Apple has equipped the 15-inch MacBook Pro with a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 quad-core CPU whose clock speed depends on the variant of your choosing, coupled with 16GB of RAM. Each MacBook Pro comes equipped with PCIe-based solid-state drive — the best option currently available.
Depending on the price point, each notebook comes equipped with Radeon Pro 450 or 455 graphics chip with 2GB of memory. You can however, opt to configure a more powerful Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB of memory, which is better suited for more demanding tasks.
Even Better Retina Display
The 15.4-inch Retina display of the new full-size MacBook Pro retains the same resolution as the outgoing model’s (2880 by 1800 pixels). It is however, significantly brighter (67% to be exact), and more vibrant thanks to 67% higher contrast ratio, and it’s also 30% more power-efficient.

5 Best Features of The Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro
https://youtu.be/NgwVJFVvOCY
Huawei recently launched their newest flagship smartphones for 2018, the Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro. They sport Leica triple camera systems, AI features, and powerful internals. Check out its best features below:
ATTRACTIVE DESIGN WITH OPTICAL COATINGS
One of the first things you’ll notice about the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro is its design which is way different from its predecessor. Huawei says it has a striking, fashion-forward aesthetic with colors effects not commonly found in today’s smartphones. It comes in Twilight and Pink Gold which was achieved by applying several layers of Non-conductive Vacuum Metalizing (NCVM) optical coatings underneath the glass back, so light hitting the surface refracts and creates a vivid, yet gradual change of hue. Not only that, these phones can resist water and dust with the P20 having an IP53 rating while the P20 Pro has IP67. They also come in Black, Champagne Gold, Pink Gold, and Midnight Blue colors.
LARGE HIGH-RESOLUTION DISPLAYS
Another eye-catching feature of the P20 and P20 Pro is its display. The former has a 5.8-inch LCD with 3D glass, while the latter has a 6.1-inch OLED display with 3D glass as well. Huawei calls them the FullView Display and it comes with a notch design which is starting to become common in high-end devices. When it comes to the resolution both have 2240 x 1080 pixel resolution giving them a pixel density of 428ppi and 408ppi, respectively.
LEICA CAMERAS
One of the strongest points of the P20 Pro is its Leica triple camera system. It is comprised of a 40MP RGB sensor with F/1.8 aperture, a 20MP monochrome sensor with F/1.6 aperture, and an 8MP sensor with a telephoto lens and F/2.4 aperture. It also features a color temperature sensor for better color reproduction, 5x Hybrid Zoom, ISO sensitivity of up to 102,400, six-axis stabilization and 960fps super slow motion.
As for the P20, uses a Leica dual camera system consisting of 12MP RGB and 20MP monochrome. Like the P20 Pro, it has six-axis stabilization and 960fps super slow motion.
POWERFUL INTERNALS WITH AI AND AR CAPABILITIES
The P20 and P20 Pro are powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 970 chipset with built-in NPU for AI applications. For one, it allows the Leica cameras to automatically identify more than 500 scenarios in 19 categories, run 4D predictive focus mode which predicts moving objects and focuses on them rapidly, AI beautification, 3D portrait lighting, AI-assisted color balancing, and AI-assisted framing. In addition, the P20 series supports Google ARCore to run advanced AR applications. The chipset is paired with a 4GB (P20) or 6GB (P20 Pro) RAM, Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, 128GB storage, and EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
ABOVE AVERAGE BATTERIES
Given that these are powerful devices, it’s only fitting that Huawei equipped them with above average batteries. The P20 sports a smaller 3,400mAh power pack, while the P20 Pro has 4,000mAh which is the same capacity as the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Both support Huawei’s SuperCharge and AI Battery Management.

Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition ships on April 13
As recently rumored, and in-line with previous releases in the series, Apple has announced the (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, with only a new leather case for the iPhone X
Both phones sport a sleek glass enclosure, now in red, with a matching aluminum band and a sleek black front. The special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone will be available to order online in select countries and regions on Tuesday and in stores beginning April 13.
“This special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS,” said Apple’s Vice President of Product Marketing Greg Joswiak. “We are proud to support (RED) with this bold new iPhone and hope customers think it is as special as we do.”
The new design ditches the white face found in the iPhone 7 version of the product, and opts for a black face. The 2017 (PRODUCT)RED was made available the same day the fifth generation iPad was.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition will be available in 64GB and 256GB models starting at an Apple retail price of $699.
Both special edition models are available to order beginning Tuesday, April 10 after 5:30 a.m. PDT, and start delivering to customers and arriving in stores in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, and the US on Friday, April 13. Brazil, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE and other countries and regions will follow later in April, with Chile, Colombia, India, Israel, Turkey and other countries and regions following in May.
Apple also introduced a new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X Leather Folio, which will be available on Tuesday. As with the rest of the company’s iPhone cases, it is made from specially tanned and finished European leather, and joins other (PRODUCT)RED devices and accessories.
