What makes Disney a conglomerate?
A conglomerate is a company that comprises multiple different corporations. Disney is a conglomerate because it parents a variety of smaller companies ranging from animation companies such as Pixar, to comic book companies like Marvel.
Technological Timeline
1949 - The studio begins production on its first all-live action feature, Treasure Island
1995 - Disney releases the Pixar computer-animated feature film Toy Story.
1997 - The home video division releases its first DVDs.
1998 - Disney releases the animated feature film Mulan to theaters in the USA.
1998 - Disney releases the Pixar computer-animated feature film A Bug's Life to theaters in the USA.
2013 - Frozen released and uses a physics based simulator called Matterhorn to create really realistic snow in the movie.
2014 - Big Hero 6 is released with the use of Hyperion which a special renderer that allows it takes all of the models, animations, textures as well as lights and other scene objects and produces the final image that make up an animated movie by calculating how the light bounces around a virtual scene and shades the objects
