BEFORE YOU READ, because I see this a lot (with ANY ship post) commenting that you don't like this ship is completely unnecessary and has nothing to do with the argument that I'm making. When Keefe and Sophie get married, Keefes going to take her last name.

I don't care if Sophie Sencen "sounds better" I have heard countless arguments on why Sophie should take his last name yada yada. I'm not taking that bull crap. Besides, Cassius doesn't deserve that gratification.

You're telling me that Sophie Foster, potentially one of the most legendary people in Elvin history, who will be talked about when she's Ancient- thousands of years after the events of the series, should change HER last name? Her last name is what's gonna be known for the rest of time. Her children will be known more than the Vackers.

She's the elf who was raised by humans and has a human name. She's keeping her name to remember her human parents and honor them even if they don't remember her, or even have that name anymore.

I've also seen the argument that Keefe should keep his because he's not gonna let his family history change how people thought of him or what not or like he grows past the history of his last name. Compelling, but it isn't within his character.

Keefe taking her last name would symbolize him cutting ties with his abusers. After everything, his parents put him through, he's leaving them in the past, no longer accepting their abuse.

Taking the name Foster, is him looking towards a future where he's not constantly looked down upon. He has people who love him. He might even take Ruewen, becoming Keefe Foster-Ruewen-- and symbolically acknowledging how he has a family now. One that loves him. He will have in-laws who actually take care of him and care enough for him to start calling them both Mom and Dad. (Keefe will grow on Grady by that time. In stellarlune, he already is kinda there)

Keefe had already said that when he gets married, he's gonna take his spouse's last name.

And c'mon. He would love to be a Foster.

I know here in the forbidden cities, the man's last name tends to be the one taken. But the Elvin cities are completely different. They have completely different marital customs. Don't push OUR customs on a completely different culture.

Okay- unraveled is seriously one of my favourite books in this whole series.

The vibe felt kinda different but it was great, and honestly I think this might be one of the best written ones in the whole series. And for once it actually felt more consistent in terms of exploring the plot and all the subplots and stuff (idk if the wording there makes sense but bear with me)

Also it was great that none of the adults were there to hold him back, because honestly I feel like one of the things that annoy me the most about this series, and something that I feel like is always slowing down the process by A LOT is the adults that always get in the way. (They have to get a little more rebellious fr)

And also the way we got to see different sides of two other characters in this specifically (I’m not going to name them in case someone hasn’t read it yet) , but I loved seeing that so much- and honestly these were characters that I never really liked that much at all, and they have now become two of the characters I like the most.

Soooo yeah 👍🏻

I’m in love with this book, In fact so much I don’t care about how the cover looks enough to hate it anymore 😔

Sophie is a better person than me 100%. If the council had put an ability restricter on me to be silly. They would have been dragged. If Stina was caught talking to me the way she talks to Sophie. She would have been dragged. The second Fitz would make any situation about how and use the “but we are cognates” excuse. He would have been dragged. Mr. Forkle would have been dragged multiple times. Cassius would have gotten his ass WHOOPED by me. Gisela would have been THROWN into the void to die. Alvar I would side eye and then drag him. That one scene in Lodestar where they allowed Fintain to sit at the table with them during their peace treaty meeting. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THAT FLOOR. Actually just the council in general except Kenric (RIP cuz he was already dragged permanently) And for those asking, no Keefe isn’t safe either. I would have let him hit the cold floor every time he ran away, or went behind my back to make up his own plan. Tam and Linh’s parents can come get it too. I would have been throwing hands left and right. Everyone is getting hit.

Honestly I kinda love the idea of Unraveled. A lot of people have been saying that they would prefer the short story or multiple short stories-

I kinda want the entirety of Stellarlune to be in keefes point of view in unraveled, especially the end of the book with Elysian. (Also maybe chapter 42…🤭)

But also imagine she structures the book to have the number of chapters be the same, and then each chapter from stellarlune and unraveled that have the same number are like- within the same timeframe.

(I don’t know if I explained that correctly)

Cuz then it’s like we know exactly what was happening during these two povs at the same time ???

Idk maybe it would be useless, and also I have a feeling that it’s going to end at the hotel room scene or smth. 😭

I have this head cannon where Sophie and Linh hangout on a specific day of the week (for example every Saturday morning), where they babysit princess purryfins and iggy while they’re having their own little play date. 🤧🫶🏻 (I also like to believe that iggy and princess purryfins would eventually become besties, or at least pretend to, to make Sophie and Linh happy lol)
