throwing him in lava, too—some trustworthy strangers on the internet say applying direct heat makes mosquito bites go away faster
obi-wan cutting off anakin’s legs was actually a charitable act to prevent him from getting mosquito bites right on that bony part of his ankle

originals as luke finding both literal and figurative family in his friends after losing his aunt & uncle, and the culmination of his arc being coming to peace with his father/familial legacy. prequels as inverse, anakin losing his mother at 9 then again at 22 and searching intensely to fill that void, trying at every turn to recreate a nuclear family unit but in the process committing to a violent maintaining of this supposed “home front”, until his chosen father figure takes him and aims him so there’s nothing left but the violence, an absolute massacre which doubly creates the cirumstances for luke's family-affirming arc to rise, thus eternally complicating luke's victory. mayhaps

”sideblog mutuals” is one of the weirdest relationships you can have with someone on here i think. like yeah we’re sort of mutuals but only when we’re both wearing funny hats and doing little voices talking about our shows. like what are we

There's a panel in Star Wars 17 where Vader tells Luke "Your strength in the Force has grown since last we met" and Luke corrects him "My connection to the Force, Vader," and this is interesting for what it says about the difference between Sith and Jedi philosophies but it's also an interesting character note that Luke feels compelled to be pedantic even in the middle of a goddamn firefight.

also very interesting how much watto talks to and about anakin like he thinks they’re friends. anakin is acutely aware that this guy owns his life and could blow him up any time he felt like it, watto does not have this fear looming over him and is left to wonder why his favorite nine year old coworker doesn’t want to joke around with him. when anakin comes back in aotc, watto seems genuinely pleased to see him and a little surprised that his buddy doesn’t want to reminisce about the good old days (of being a child slave)

something that i really, really appreciate with padme is that she's a fighter. she has fight scenes in both tpm and aotc, the two movies that build up her character before rots starts setting up her demise. frankly, i think padme doesnt REALLY need to be a warrior to be considered a strong character, especially when the political plotline is the skeleton for all the drama in the prequels. you could argue the things she was doing in her office were ultimately more important than whatever fucked up gundark related adventures anakin and obi-wan were having off screen
but. conceptually. i love that shes a politician AND a warrior. and this isn't even the standard for senators, she's genuinely just built different. the arena fight on geonosis killed a memorable amount of jedi but you know who survived pretty much unscathed? your local representative. she should have been chancellor on the sole basis that grievous would have had a whole lotta harder time kidnapping PADME. and like. imagine hearing on the news that there was a massive shootout involving mercenaries, bugs, droids, a few dozen trained psychic warriors trained from birth and a senator. the senator who was almost assassinated like a week ago, even. and she lived! its like if franz ferdinand switched himself out with a body double, fought in one of ww1's initial battles, served absolute cunt and then just proceeded to return to business as usual. its like if joe biden suddenly showed signs of being able to win the hunger games. its like james bond had to apply for a prime minister as a side gig to help pay the bills. and again, her job as a senator is the important part. the fact she's a highly trained fighter with surprising eagerness to throw hands if necessary just makes her job as a senator somewhat more bizarre. what kind of senate were they training her for
#i know they tried to explain why she has all these skills but i like to think she just thought it would be cool#lonely isolated 14 year old watching lockpicking videos on spyoutube taking notes etc etc#padme amidala
