3D typographic design
In the typography module, we need to find a typographer or Graphic designer and design a book\magazine about the person. So after a long time research and selected, I chose the Jonathan Quainton and his studio. He is a British graphic designer and his works always focus on typography. I really like his book design “Shanghai exhibition” and other 3D typography design.I was inspired a lot for his design. Therefore, I try to design my name “BAI CEHN” to 3d in Photoshop. That is a bit hard for me before I found the teaching Video in Youtube. I used 3d tool to transform the flat words to 3d and changed the colour and lighting shade to make it look good.
The second time of practice is when I design the magazine page. I want the 2 line typography could be cross together, so I drew the Quainton on paper and made a 3d version with Illustrator. For show the feeling of cross, I used the mask tools and adding the shadow under it. I am satisfied with the final work and learned lots of technical skills from this practice.

In technical skills class, I have learned a new software that Is muse.
Create and publish professional websites that look great on desktop and mobile browsers, using a free-form canvas and layout tools, without writing any code.
I tired to design my site with muse from master to each page. I found it likes Indesign when we want a master page to control and fix each pages.

bake + APP DESIGN
This summer holiday, I worked as a freelance designer when I back to china. A client required a App interface design about dessert baking. This not my first time design App, but I was stills feel confused during the design process. So I have done lots of research through my design. At first, I created a logo and named it as “bake+” and discuss with my client about the name and template of app. After research and planning the works, I started to design the App. I chose the pink as a main colour, because the target audience would be aged 15 - 30 young females group. So I plan to design a cute and fresh style App to attract the people to download our app and using for a long time.

Street Art in Spain
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I traveled in the Spain, I found lots of splendid street art and graffiti art. So I took lots of photos to record my favorite artworks. I love the color and pattern of them, I think them with a special Spanish style.
Research:
Defining Street Art  Coming from the context of urban spaces, street art now lives in the cultural spaces of galleries, virtual communities, public discourses and recently it has become an object of appropriation by the popular culture and the mainstream symbolism of contemporaneity. Art pieces which have come to existence on the walls of cities reached the highest peaks of the contemporary art market. Moreover, the discussion on the meaning of street art resides in the halls occupied by scholars and their students, who ponder the interaction between notions of Visual Art, Conceptual Art, Performance Art and ways of articulating these art forms into the world of street art. It is clear that we are past the point of defining street art simply as a specific movement or a particular subculture. Surely, saying that it may represent an extraordinary hybrid form of artistic expression would be taking the easy way out. However, if we were to express the relatively stable stances which could form an explanation of street art, they would at least include the following: 1. Street art incorporates a strong devotion to social activism (although this is not always the case, it seems that this was an attribute of artwork that survived the test of time), 2. Street art represents a phenomenon that is, through self-transformation, constantly transforming the reality of contemporary art and finally, 3. Street art, as a particular practice, has a role in shaping and constructing new cultural discourses.

Flyer Design
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The research about flyer design
I have done lots of research for the flyer design because I do not have an idea for the flyer design. Since my concept is the fashion for man and floral pattern. I was thinking use flower or pattern to do design, but when I actually design the flyer I would like to play with the image. Therefore, I also found some pattern of clothing material.
The development of flyer design
I have done the flyer design with 5 steps,  At first, I drew a man with a flower head and  wear the suit by Adobe Illustrator. I did lots of layer for the shadow and light of the purple flower. I used different deep purple to show. As the same case, the suit as well. Before No 3, I have a transparency frame under the man with the letter in the box. But someone suggested me no use that should be better,  So I drew some random shape full with the clothing materials.
This is not my first time design flyer, I have done once last term. But I am still learn the flyer design. I plan to practice more the flyer design from help my friends or I could find more chance from out of university, except the course works.

Travel of Louvre
Tumblr media
I went to the Louvre December last year with my friends, I visited this famous palace in France. I felt the extraordinary art works in Middle Ages Medieval. I took lots of photos about the textile and details of the wonderful architectures. This trip is very useful my graphic design study, because there are huge artworks show and explain the history of european graphic design. They are inspired me a lot.
RESEARCH : THE HISTORY OF LOUVRE
Louvre {loov'-ruh} — a French palace and the national art museum of France.
Located in Paris, the Louvre is one of the largest palaces in the world and, as a former residence of the kings of France, one of the most illustrious. It exemplifies traditional French architecture since the Renaissance, and it houses a magnificent collection of ancient and Western art.
Ground floor diagram, Louvre MuseumThe Palace
The first Louvre was a fortress built at the beginning of the 13th century by Philip II Augustus to defend the Seine below Paris against the Normans and English. It consisted of a thick cylindrical donjon (dungeon) surrounded by towered walls. This château, enlarged and embellished by Charles V in the 14th century, was sacrificed in the 16th century at the end of the reign of Francis I in order to make room for a new Renaissance structure of the same size. Only the west wing and part of the south wing of the projected palace, conceived by the architect Pierre Lescot and decorated with sculptures by Jean Goujon, were finished.
In 1564 Catherine de Médicis had her architect, Philibert Delorme, build a little château in a neighboring field to the west called the Tuileries. It was then decided to create a grandiose royal residence by joining the Louvre and the Palais des Tuileries by a series of buildings. The most important is the Grande Galerie built along the Seine in the reign of Henry IV.
In the 17th century Louis XIII and his minister Richelieu extended Lescot's west wing northward by adding the majestically domed Pavillon de l'Horloge (clock pavillion) by Jacques Lemercier and recreating Lescot's building beyond it. Under Louis XIV and his minister Colbert, the Cour Carrée, a great square court, was constructed by Louis Le Vau. The east façade of the east wing was later given a classical colonnade by Le Vau and Claude Perrault. The royal apartments were sumptuously decorated by Charles Le Brun and others, as the Galerie d'Apollon still bears witness. The Louvre was abandoned as a royal residence when Louis XIV moved the court to Versailles in 1682.
After the Revolution of 1789, Napoleon I, later kings, and Napoleon III lived in the Tuileries. The Louvre was used for offices and a museum. Along the Rue de Rivoli, Napoleon I began a wing parallel to that of Henry IV along the Seine. Napoleon III finished the wing, thus closing the great quadrilateral.
A few years later, during the uprising of the Paris Commune in 1871, the Tuileries was burned. Paradoxically, the disappearance of the Tuileries, which had originally brought about the extension of the Louvre, opened the admirable perspective that now stretches from the Arc du Carrousel west through the Tuileries Gardens and the Place de la Concorde to the Place Charles de Gaulle.
In the late 1980s the Louvre embarked upon an aggressive program of renovation and expansion. When the first plans by the Chinese-American architect Ieoh Ming Pei were unveiled in 1984, they included a glass pyramid in the central courtyard that would serve as the museum's main entrance. Despite drawing protests before the fact, since its opening in 1989 the pyramid has proven remarkably effective in accommodating the large numbers of visitors, and has even become a relatively beloved landmark of the city. In November 1993, to mark its 200th anniversary, the museum unveiled the Richelieu wing in the quarters that had been vacated, grudgingly, by the Ministry of Finance in 1989. This expansion, which completed the museum's occupancy of the palace complex, added 230,000 square feet (21,390 sq meters) to the existing 325,000 square feet (30,225 sq meters) of exhibition space, and allowed it to put an additional 12,000 works of art on display in 165 new rooms.

Goudi Casa Mile
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I visited to the Casa Mila when I travel to Spain in April. I was amazed by the architecture without straight line. I love the amazing curve line in the building.
I took some photos and ps a little bit for make a sense black&white. before I went to visited I did a lot of research for the designer and history of design the building.
Casa Milà, popularly known as ‘La Pedrera’, is probably one of the most famous buildings of the Catalan Modernisme or Catalan Art Nouveau period and one of the architect Antoni Gaudí’s most ambitious works. It is a container that is a work of art in itself. Its singularity and artistic and heritage value are amply accredited by its inclusion in the city of Barcelona Artistic Heritage catalogue in 1962; by its declaration as Historical and Artistic Monument of National Interest by the Spanish government in 1969; or by its entry by UNESCO on its World Heritage list in 1984, for its exceptional universal value.

Drawing practice
Tumblr media
I did some drawing practices during my part time. I have learned some skills about watercolour drawing and sketch from youtube or Instagram. I bought some pens that full with water. I used the colour pen to draw first and then add some water on the drawing to mixture the colour.
Based on this thing, I know I should practice my drawing skills and update my sketch ability. Because this is the basis of graphic design.

Tumblr media
The process of making flower.gif
I have done this flower gif by Photoshop. I chose around 30 pictures to create an animation. I did this for my website design, I am going to use this for my homepage to do a welcome page with this blooming purple flower. I have learned the use of timeline and how to manage the time for each page, in this animation each page for 0.1 sec.
This is my first time to make the gif, I am going to use this skills in next design project or course work to practice. During this thing i realised I was not familiar the use of timeline in Photoshop. I plan to learn this technique when I back to china. I can find some classes to have a month study Adobe softwares.

La Sagrada Família in Spain
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
La Sagrada Família
I visited the super famous Roman catholic church in Barcelona. That is an awesome architecture, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926). Even it have not finished, the Antoni Gaudi design style is shown totally.
The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926). Gaudí's work on the building is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site,[5] and in November 2010 Pope Benedict XVI consecrated and proclaimed it a minor basilica,[6][7][8] as distinct from a cathedral, which must be the seat of a bishop.
The work of Antoni Gaudi falls under the movement of Modernism and therefore is wrapped in the traits of exuberant forms, ornamentation, great attention to detail, vast use of plant motifs, and the preference to curvilinear and asymmetrical line. Along with his attention to great detail Gaudi integrated the use of ceramic tile, stained glass, wrought iron works and master crafted carpentry which ultimately enhanced the unique innovative design concepts in which he became noted for. Gaudi introduced new techniques to the architectural world such as trencadis, which is a type of mosaic made of waste ceramic pieces and which is one of the design details incorporated throughout his work, one example being the spires of the Sagrada Família.

I have done a test about personal career text. Through the text, I know more what type person I am, what is my strengths or weaknesses even what kind job is best suitable for me. I learned a lot thing about myself personality. I am interesting in explore and analyse myself. Because If you want to develop or improve yourself, you have to know what is yourself firstly.
ENFJ - Pedagogue
ENFJ's are outstanding group leaders. They try hard to help others be the best that they can be. 5% of the total population. The ENFJ's optimistic outlook toward social relationships is a burden to them at times. When external conflicts affect a group, the ENFJ is likely to assume responsibility. Their ability to empathize then turns into a liability. ENFJ's, when over-identifying with the pain of others, will loose sight of their own concerns and interests. Their idealism can also be the cause of some distress when their assumptions are unable to weather the winds of reality. Fantasized relationships rarely translate into reality and even the best charismatic leader encounters unexpected resistance.
Like all NFs, ENFJ's will disassociate themselves from stressful situations in an effort to protect their sense of well-being and togetherness. The ENFJ, however, will repress the unpleasant side of life only to have to face it later in an intensified form when it explodes from its hiding place. It can manifest itself as fits of anger, sudden outbursts, or emotional explosions. Often the ENFJ's body will reflect pent-up stress by manifesting various physical symptoms that will erupt unexpectedly.
