random emoji slugcat 1
🗨️💃🍤 The Bailaora
an evolutionary relative of Artificer, present shortly before Hunter's campaign
while Artificer's subspecies was engineered to have a symbiotic relationship with demolition microorganisms, the Bailaora's subspecies is engineered for the sterilization of pipes. it secretes a boiling solution from its forelimbs and tail, which slowly calcifies surfaces and creatures below it. instead of fur, it's covered in feather-duster frills to distribute this solution and maximize its surface area. it has antacid coating by default!
the longer or faster the Bailaora moves without touching the ground, the stronger its calcification becomes. wall jumping, pole flipping, fast pole climbing and pole hopping can make this effect deadly within seconds. flips and pounces also produce a solid mound of calcium on the floor which lasts for a few cycles; these can be stacked for platforming, or used to shield against enemies, but are destroyed by explosives
its throw is as strong as Gourmand, but its aim is godawful because all of its strength is for forward speed. any thrown objects will be offset up to 60 degrees above or below horizontal
the Bailaora is purely carnivorous, but can't eat raw meat without getting sick. it must first fully calcify its prey, then repeatedly maul the carcass to crunch into the cooked meat inside. this is a long process best done in safer rooms, so this slugcat also has the strength to carry carcasses without losing any speed
its story is one of ambition and downfall. the Bailaora's subspecies originally sealed transport pipes with a protective coating, preventing corrosive or infectious substances from leaking into other systems. however, they've evolved to destroy systems altogether, colonies blocking off entire passageways to corral prey
one of these slugcats quests into Moon and Pebbles' facility grounds by climbing over the retaining wall. it's well-known to its kind that collapsed superstructures are the best place to establish colonies, since the wreckage traps large apex predators and ruins their hunting grounds. the Bailaora's goals? to spread its kind throughout the land, claim dominion over Looks to the Moon, and kill every apex predator in its path
the Bailaora receives a slight agility boost after it eats one red lizard, red centipede or king vulture. it receives a major agility boost after it eats a miros vulture. this effect stacks when activated in consecutive cycles, decreases during a cycle without having eaten an apex predator, and resets after death because failure makes it Very Sad
each time the Bailaora hibernates with extra food, it spends this food to spawn pups in the following cycle. these pups are aggressive and disloyal, sing to attract prey, and will climb onto poles to fry prey if you let go of them. this can be useful; the more pups you have in one place, the faster surrounding creatures will die. and you can sing with them too!
successfully feed and hibernate a pup, and it will grow into an independent adult the next cycle. if this adult is fed an apex predator, then hibernates in a unique shelter, it will also become a permanent spawn in the region, with a den closest to the shelter you raised it in. the number of established offspring is tracked in your hibernation screen, with an optional quota specific to each region; this will be important later
through the systems above Moon's collapsed chamber, Luna is accessible to the Bailaora through a more-intact version of Bitter Aerie. this is the Bailaora's final destination. in a quest to populate the city before miros vultures can claim it, the Bailaora must raise a pup in every shelter in the region, feeding them an apex predator so they become a permanent spawn
the pipes of Luna's sewers are clogged by the colony's interference. their prey is trapped inside the city's walls with them, and their hubris makes them assume they've created a paradise. once the colony is fully established across Luna, the slugcats lead its empress to the top of the city to celebrate… and then Looks to the Moon receives a certain neuron filled with slag reset keys
all at once, her exhaust pumps activate at maximum power. water ravages her internal structure, and vapour overloads the structure's roof. the calcium blockages are heat-resistant, and the vapour condenses into liquid, but the sheer pressure causes the blockages to cave eventually
the Bailaora watches from above as an eruption of water pulverizes the city's floor. the flood annihilates the empire it fought to create, and the tower it's perched on is swept away, falling over the edge of the can and down into the ocean beneath. meanwhile, the majority of the flood is contained within the city's walls due to the slugcats' diligent sealing, and the resultant storm clouds are trapped within as well…
and that's the story of how Bitter Aerie becomes snowy and barren before the rest of the world, and why no apex predators are found during Survivor and Monk's campaigns
the campaign is considered beaten at this point. continue the game, and the Bailaora is crawling out of the wreckage that is now modern Shoreline. its life is in shambles, but all it can do is continue on
the map transitions from Artificer to Hunter's worldstate. The Precipice is destroyed, Garbage Wastes' acid is diluted by the flood, and Drainage System's pumps no longer work, preventing the water level from fluctuating
if at any point the Bailaora succeeds in meeting the established offspring quota in every region, they will begin helping it back over the retaining wall. the facility can't support them, and they wish to migrate to greener pastures. the campaign ends when you accept this and move on…

send me three random emojis and I might make a slugcat concept with them
example:
🦝✨⌛️ The Conservator
present immediately after Saint's campaign, probably also a close relative
its body is translucent and saturated with void fluid, so its constantly-regenerating cells barely hold it together. if it's stunned or killed, it explodes
in exchange, it has wall climbing, maximum stealth and minimal weight, so it can scurry anywhere unnoticed… and since its guts are void fluid, it can instantly kill anything it mauls. of course, this only works if it catches something stunned
it craves treasures. it is possessed by desire beyond its own comprehension. its quest is to hoard and consume every coloured pearl in the land. each pearl it eats (including regular pearls) gives it more opacity for the rest of the cycle, making it less stealthy but more resistant to damage
scavengers hate it for having grabbier hands
it can't store anything without breaking it unfortunately
once again, it returns to Rubicon. it's immune to void fluid because the void fluid is part of it. when it swims into the void fluid, it becomes intangible, but it loses all durability when it exits
by consuming and dissolving all records of the Ancients into the void, it reconnects the ascended souls with their history. in Rubicon, all things once forgotten and eroded are restored. this helps souls pass on in peace, and removes attachments holding Echoes back from ascension
it hopes that this will ease the arrival of the next era, letting the next sapient civilization thrive without inheriting the Ancients' regrets

hi tumblr :) it might not look like it, but this is a deltarune oc!! I pixelled this character for my dearest @whyyouwanttoknowmyname a while ago, and since he made an account to post his ideas, I thought ‘why shouldn’t I?’
I’m looking forward to meeting people here 🎵

This is my humble offering to the Deltarune Community, I hope you can accept me on your fandom.
Their names are Cristi, Pum, and Mallet (Previously Ax, Mor, and Hal), and they’re the Jacks of Diamonds, Hearts, and Clubs respectively.
I made them just because I found it funny how lancer is the only child of a card king we see, we know that the other kings are trapped on the prison/basement of the Card Castle, so what happened to their children…?
I may give this little guys lore later…
