Jean’s district mate has been the furthest thing from his mind ever since the games had started. He remembered that when he first saw Piotr Rasputin he had noticed him for all his tall and muscular glory, his stoic smiles but unthreatening aura - and he remembered that he was intimidated. He immediately marked him as a threat, told himself he should keep an eye out for Rasputin. But since the games started, somehow he slipped his mind, even when Jean teamed up with them - the more obvious, present threat at the time seemed to be the Careerists.

And yet now here he was, threatening to break Charles’ neck in his chokehold.

"I can excuse many of your shortcomings, Xavier." Magneto points his finger at Charles as he talks. "But this time, it's unacceptable."

"I'm not sure what you want me to do about this." Charles sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"When I show up to a fight, I expect there to be... You know... A fight." Magneto's eyebrows furrow, casting a shadow over his eyes under the helmet on his head. Which looked rather funny from Charles point of view.

"Well, it's not like I can just call them over whenever I want! They do have their own lives."

"Wait, so you don't control every aspect of your child soldiers lives?" Magneto puts a hand on his chest and steps back as if surprised. "Gosh, Charles, what big of a heart you have!"

"Erik." Charles groans, having already gone through this argument many, many times before.

"Fine, I'm going home." Erik turns and lifts his arms up to start rising. The rest of the brotherhood turns with him.

"Who says we can't fight?" Charles scoffs, crossing his arms.

Erik turns back around. A collective groan leaves the group standing behind Magneto. He looks at Charles, his metal wheelchair and then back at him.

"No, I want you to tell me why that's not a good idea."

"I have powers too!" Charles huffs. "You act as if my telepathy means nothing!'

"Yeah, and you act like my helmet doesn't make your telepathy useless!"

"Should..." Wanda starts, rethinks but continues. "Should we do something?"

"You really want to get in the middle of that?" Pietro asks his sister, unamused by anything that's happening.

Wanda goes to say something in their defense but ends up agreeing with Pietro when she can't think of anything. The group watches the two bicker for a minute longer before Mastermind pipes up.

"What if we just left them here?" Mastermind sits up from his slouched position as everyone looks at him like he was a ghost. "What?"

"That is the most productive thing you've ever said." Pietro states, already picking up Wanda to leave.

I just thought of something and now I feel miserable all over again...

During Kurt's eulogy, he said that he believed Remy was bluffing and that not seeing himself as a hero was just Remy being modest...

...except it wasn't.

We got a peak inside Remy's head in ep3 when Madelyne was taunting the team with their inner-most fears, and his was literally Rogue telling him that he was a piece of shit and that she'd found a real man in Magneto who was a hero and way better than him.

Also, the showrunner literally said it was "key" that Remy thought he didn't deserve to be a hero when he died.

So don't try to bullshit us, writers. It wasn't fucking modesty. Remy truly DIDN'T see himself as hero and he fucking died believing that.

Summary:

Erik looked down at the form-fitting suit he was wearing, and the dozen roses in his hand. There was no doubt that Charles knew he was there, his helmet had been left behind and, even if he had come through a window by Charles’s office to avoid the students knowing he was there, the telepath surely wasn’t to be fooled. - Erik shows up to ask Charles on a date. Only Erik has never been on a date before and worries he did it wrong.
