since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.
please reblog this post if you’ve got trans followers. stay safe.

Saying "voting doesn't matter" might reach your younger peers online but it certainly hasn't reached Clangus Hargbarg who was part of the kkk in 1951 and still sends in his ballot. He hasn't missed a one.

I think the *implied offscreen intimate shenanigans* trope would be so cute on GO.
Just like, Crowley and Aziraphale are called in from another room and arrive disheveled: buttons are mismatched, hair is mussed, and someone's pants are on backwards. I'm especially giddy at the thought of Aziraphale's eye-pencil-mustache being smudged all over Crowley's face, and them just trying to "act normal" in the worst way.
--------
Maggie: Mr Crowley, you have something on your cheek.
Crowley: I don't. *sniff*
Nina, snidely: And your trousers are on the wrong way round.
Crowley: Ngk 'S'stylish.
Aziraphale, with half a mustache: 😳

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is used the most, particularly in the first episode, with the demon Crowley (David Tennant) arriving at his meeting to discuss the coming of the Anti-Christ as Freddie Mercury sings that “Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me.” Snatches of the song can also be heard as Crowley receives his orders on where to deliver the infant Anti-Christ and his arrival at the hospital, which is set to “It’s A Hard Life”. The song shows up again at the end of episode 5 and the start of episode 6 (though different clips are used) when Crowley dramatically arrives at the USAF base where the end of the world starts, at the wheel of his burning Bentley.
Episode 2 plays “Bicycle Race” in the background of Crowley’s car, as he gives a lift to bicycle-riding witch Anathema Device, after the two collide with one another. Episode 5 opens with Crowley racing through the streets of London to “You’re My Best Friend,” as he tries to reach the book shop run by his best friend, the angel Aziraphale. When Crowley discovers the shop is on fire and concludes that someone has killed Aziraphale, he emerges from the flames to Queen’s gospel-inspired hit “Somebody To Love,” having finally come to grips with his feelings for the angel.
“Another One Bites The Dust” is used in episode 5 of Good Omens, as Crowley becomes stuck in traffic on the M25 freeway around London and “I’m In Love With My Car” blasts forth as Crowley drives through the wall of fire surrounding London. Queen’s power ballad, “We Will Rock You,” plays as Crowley and his flame-engulfed Bentley “rock the world” of an unfortunate neighborhood watchmen in the village of Tadfield, whom Crowley asks for directions while seemingly unaware that his car is on fire. Finally, a brass band can be heard playing “Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon” as Crowley and Aziraphale meet in the park just before their respective abductions.

After three weeks of almost obsessively working on this project I've finally completed it! @mouseonamoose amazing fanfic Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach (read it if you haven't already) is a hardcover book I can hold in my hands and put on my bookshelf now. It's not perfect, I made some mistakes, but I'm proud nonetheless:
Tumblr media
The headbands I made red and black on the top for everyone's favourite demon and the bottom I made white and gold because you can't have that demon without his favourite angel:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how could I not think about Crowley and Aziraphale when I found this amazing design of the words demon/angel? I just had to put that on the end papers. I hope it's not only me who can see the word demon this side up and angel if you flip it on its head:
Tumblr media
And here a bit more of the insides:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you mouseonamoose, not only for writing this amazing story but also for inspiring me to pick up this hobby of bookbinding again. I can't wait to read it again now.

Good Omens: Angelic Translations - Brief Update!
Sorry, y'all! I may have underestimated how many people are interested in this, and should probably be posting more! 😅
Looks like Reddit has found us as well! (Hello, GO fans from Reddit!)
I was hesitant to update much before we had new concrete findings to offer the community, but if y'all are equally interested in the process I'll do my best to cover it with more regular updates as we go.
Currently we have all of the symbols identified from various ancient syllabaries, and we've had to start looking at alternatives to a simple 1:1 cipher, in part because of the way certain symbols appear, and also because of the security cam footage.
Because there is a limited subset of characters in both the security cam footage and Heaven's-Literal-PowerPoint-About-Armageddon-v2, we've turned our focus there for the time being to sort out what we hope will be some keystones in deciphering the pillars as well.
There are also symbols on the pillars that do not exist in those images, so we currently suspect that those have to do with either punctuating or altering text intended to be read as letters.
Over the past couple days, however, we think we may have a new idea for looking at a section of symbols on the cam footage. We'd been considering for a while that there might be some second layer we'd have to sort out just based on the number of symbols we're dealing with there (Suggests that either we're not looking at a base 10 number system, or it's otherwise encoded, perhaps in something like hex).
The only reason I don't have more for you in the moment is that my own brain is not the Big Math Brain among us 😅 and I would not want to describe this incorrectly. I want to make sure I fully understand it first. What with all the US holidays going on at the moment, it may take me a bit to get more details written up for you all, but I promise I'll make sure y'all get another update soon!

I've noticed that people have started spreading the 1992 Good Omens script around. Please don't. If you've got it up, please take it down. There's a mess of serious and real legalities involved, and I don't want to have to start being a dick and asking for copyright takedowns and all of that, and I don't want to have to regret letting it out into the world. Just take it down, unshare, delete links. Thank you.

When Crowley met Jesus, and the other demon at Golgotha
You know the scene. 33AD. Aziraphale is watching the crucifixion take place and certain fem-presenting demon sidles up to him.
Tumblr media
Aziraphale greets them, and finds out they have changed their name.
"What is it now?" he asks them. " Mephistopheles? Asmodeus?"
I know most you have learnt by now that Asmodeus is the demon of lust, and this is obviously Aziraphale's idea of a flirty little joke (perhaps the first we see? because he's the one who's really as "mad as bag of frogs" after all and that's why Crowley's made an appearance, because he was probably just in the area, you know...), but I haven't seen or come across much meta about the first suggested name, which is a GO "lead balloon" moment.
Mephistopheles, Aziraphale? That's the name you thought of here? Of all places? jfc...you bad, bad angel! lmoa! This is a serious, sombre situation you are witnessing!
Mephistopheles is the name of the fictional demon sent to do a deal with the character Faust in a story that dates back to Germany in the early 1500s. Faust was a like a scientist in his day, well educated in things like alchemy and astrology and other mystical arts, maybe even having wizard powers (why not?) But he was hungry for more power so he did a deal with the devil for 24 years of assistance to achieve and gain anything he desired, and at the end of that time he would be claimed by Hell. Needless to say, despite starting off well it didn't have a happy ending. (I wont go into details as there are lots of variants, and its not that short, and they aren't all that relevant to the point of the post.)
It has been a hugely influential story ever since, appearing in many forms over the years; in opera, theater, movies, novels, adaptations such as Oscar Wilde's The Portrait of Dorian Grey, and Queen's famous song Bohemian Rhapsody. Terry Pratchett also did a parody of it in his 1990 book Eric, and readers have often noted the similarity to the Hell depicted there to the Hell in GO.
Its the origin of the idiom "to do a deal with the devil" and a Faustian bargain. The mortals that enter into the deal with a powerful supernatural entity are usually set up to fail, and we go along with it because we are so used to the trope, its one we've come to expect the bargainer to fail in some spectacular fashion. It's one that keeps being repeated again and again because it so interesting to explore - often the protagonist is looking for some form of happiness, sometimes revenge, and hopes the deal will deliver, but find out the hard way that they should be careful what they wish for because the delivery is a two-edged sword. They may find out that they don't actually want what they thought they wanted, or they get what they want in an very unexpected way.
Back to Golgotha, and our demon and angel. We learn the demon has merely modified their name to Crowley. And yes, they met Jesus.
C: "Seemed a very bright young man. I showed him all the kingdoms of the world."
A: "Why?"
C: "He's a carpenter from Galilee, his travel opportunities are limited."
Tumblr media
This is a reference to one of the the tests of faith Jesus was put through before his crucifixion, from the Book of Matthew.
I like this modern version I found:
For the third test, the Devil took him to the peak of a huge mountain. He gestured expansively, pointing out all the earth’s kingdoms, how glorious they all were. Then he said, “They’re yours—lock, stock, and barrel. Just go down on your knees and worship me, and they’re yours.” Jesus’ refusal was curt: “Beat it, Satan!” He backed his rebuke with a third quotation from Deuteronomy: “Worship the Lord your God, and only him. Serve him with absolute single-heartedness.” The Test was over. The Devil left. And in his place, angels! Angels came and took care of Jesus’ needs. Matthew 4:8-11 The Message
Or, you could say: Crowley showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world, and offered the bargain that he could rule them all if he would renounce God and worship Satan instead, but Jesus just turned to the demonic messenger and simply told him to "fuck off!"
And there we have it, folks. Mephistopheles, and Asmodeus. Touche, Aziraphale, you sly little shit stirrer.

Beautiful!!!💙💙💙💜💜💜
I've been compelled since the end of GO S2 to draw cheer-up post-fix-it fluff comic.
Tbh, the first four pages are just filler to get to the point where I could start drawing (and ogling pictures of) long-hair Crowley being needy (Biblical Crowley is sooo my jam)😍😆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, the standard of Good Omens fanart is so insanely high I was kinda nervous to even start drawing any (and I haven't done a comic in yearrrrs). But it was really really fun. Thank you for looking!❤

So I don't really know where I'm going with this but I've been thinking recently that Crowley doesn't appear to perceive time like the rest of us. Is it really happening in a linear fashion for him? Does he really move from past to present to future or can he choose not to? Is he only moving in that direction most of the time because he's in a corporeal form and he needs to percevie the world like that most of the time in order not to go mad? Could he live outside time altogether if he chose to? Or is he experiencing time normally the way humans do but can also see the future? And if he can see the future is it in a controlled way, or does he get random glimpses when he doesn't expect it? Does he see possible futures but not know which one will come to pass?
(Side note - Aziraphale doesn't seem to have this ability, but perhaps he just doesn't use it - maybe all angels can live outside time if they wish to).
There's a bit of evidence that he doesn't experience time in a normal human fashion For a start he can stop time - that's very big and obvious so doesn't really need much discussion, apart from maybe to speculate over the place he takes Adam and Aziraphale when he does so before Satan's arrival. Is that an angelic realm outside time? Aziraphale certainly seems to relish how he feels when he's there, he looks satisfied, rolls his neck as if unwinding a tension and generally behaves in a way that suggests the place is relaxing and familiar to him.
There's also all the times that Crowley seems to know about things before humans invent them. I can buy that he could invent dark glasses - necessity is the mother of invention and all that, but helicopters? Why invent them? And how? Is he really some super amazing inventor or does he just know about them? If the latter then how? I suppose it could be argued that they are invented in heaven and then fed to the humans via angelic interference, but in that case why is it Crowley who knows and talks to Leonardo about helicopters? Also why would heaven invent them? It can't be hell, it's canonically established that they don't have imagination, which is needed to invent. So either Crowley is the inventor, or he knows what's coming for humanity because he can perceive the future in some way.
Same goes for handwashing. In S2E3 he tells the doctor about handwashing before it's a known medical practise and he also tells him that it will be all the rage in a few years. This takes place not long before humans discover its a good idea. It's a good joke, but again, how does he know that it will be all the rage in a few years? That's very specific. How does he know that very soon humans, who have failed to place significance on handwashing for millenia, will suddenly decide it's a good idea? You can argue that since he knows how earth was constructed he knows about germs and knows they are causing diseases and that hand washing will help, but its a bit of stretch in my view and also doesn't explain how he can be aware of the human timeline of this knowledge. Also why only mention this to someone now? And if he knows, Aziraphale knows, and you'd think Aziraphale would think to mention it to someone human much earlier if he was aware of it since it would alleviate human suffering.
I don't really know where I'm going with this to be honest or what it might mean (or even if I really think it's a thing at all if I'm honest) There's just a lot of theories around time and season two playing with the timeline and this weird stuff around Crowley and his perception of time might fit into it somewhere. Also Neil's future apocolyptic scene that he wanted to put in makes me very suspicious. Why would that fit in with what we see? Who would be seeing that future? I can't find the recount of what he said now, but I seem to remember he mentioned that the audience wouldn't know if it was a dream or vision. So is it one of Crowley's glimpses forward in time? If it is does it explain why he's so dead set on running away at the end?
I've seen a future where you go to heaven, angel, and it doesn't end well.
