At one time, I had an idea about a device that would allow Dante to communicate with other people. Then I was thinking about what abilities Dante might have in the future, and it dawned on me. The ability to rewind time for objects and spaces. Like, imagine that he's in the company of non-sinners, and he communicates with them, rewinding time to compose his words from the sounds of their words

so like cutting down an audio track and stitching it back together to create new sentences? had to sit there for a minute to understand what you're getting at, but cool idea, would be very big brain of them if they were ever to have an ability to rewind time in the most literal sense. though idk if they'd ever actually have the brains for those kinds of 4D moves if they can't even bust out the pen and paper to communicate with their guide lol

if i were to think of a device that would let Dante communicate with people outside of the sinners that isn't their PDA (they talked to ■■■■■ through it so that's canon sorta), it would probably have to do with messing with their frequencies or something, like, as the sinners are tied to them they are able to hear them on some specific frequency level, something something light, something something golden bough

if i were to write something like that, id maybe imagine a scenario where they're given some device or pin that lets them translate their frequency to one closer to normal human hearing range, but it cuts off most of their words or misinterprets them so chaos ensues and someone goes "what did you say about my mom", cue sinners throwing themselves in between Dante and their potential attacker and screaming "WAIT IT'S NOT WHAT THEY MEANT"

Woopsie, Wrong Dante

Yknow i have a lot of praises for Limbus Company, but one has been on my mind a lot recently. Mostly concerning Dante. Usually, in games like these, Dante would be the faceless, nameless protagonist, usually only going by a title. They're a fill-in for... you. But honestly? That's really boring, and kind of immersion breaking. Sometimes to a comical degree. And, worst of all, it becomes this... dead weight for the story.

But Dante? No, they're not the average faceless protagonist- Although quite literally faceless, they're an ACTUAL PERSON with independent thought and wants and needs. they're awkward and say things i wouldn't say, does things i wouldn't do- And i love that. they're a character I've grown to love because they're stumbling around and trying to figure out this whole "manager" thing while everything around them is trying to either murder them, or is yelling at them for not doing things right. they're relatable, without being a cardboard cutout of a person. they suffer, they feel joy, they grow connections with people- The moment when they were insulted for their clock head in canto II and sent Outis out like an attack dog, as funny as it is, really shows how they're... a person. A flawed one, an insecure one, one who fucks up a LOT.

But they are a person. And i love that about them.
