Sorry this isn’t fandom related and a little personal but if you’re a cat owner and you’ve never had your cats tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia) please please please do.

Yesterday we had to very suddenly say goodbye to our 16 month old cat. We didn’t even know he was FeLV+ until it was way too late. The vet told us that because his case was so uniquely severe for a cat his age knowing his diagnosis beforehand probably wouldn’t have changed his fate but it would have certainly helped us be more prepared emotionally. And now that we know we can give his sister (who is also FeLV+) a stronger chance at life.

I know FeLV tests aren’t cheap but ESPECIALLY if you don’t know the full medical history of your cats (or their birth mama) it is so much better to be safe than sorry.

Our happy little guy, Chip. He was such a good boy.
