LESSON 3

I have gained knowledge on the use of idiomatic expressions and their cultural connotations through this lesson. I diomatic language is comparable to a form of art in which the message is concealed. Yet, white speaking with individuals of different ethnicity, it is particularly important to imploy idiomatic terms cautiously to avoid miscommunication for the reason that they have a tendency to interrupt the conversation. I also learned that some terms have different cultures. In order to prevent miscommunication, we must be careful with our words and be aware of who we are speaking to.

LESSON 2

In this lesson, I learned how to say "apologies" and "thank you" towards oother countries and how it differs from how we say those phrases in some counytries. Moreover, I learned how two commuinication styles differ, such that low-context speakers would explain their ideas in detail and in plain language, whereas high-context speakers seem to speak less and their meanings were imprecise, which is generally regarded as inappropriate and may further offend certain cultural sensibilities. It is crucial to consider what we say in discussion, especially when speaking about cultural differences.

LESSON 1 In this lesson, I learned that there are differences in verbal and nonverbal expressions among other countries based on the language's structure, spelling, pronunciation, and seemantics. There are linguistic expressions used in other cultures that are similar of those other cuntries. Non-verbal cues can also convey the same meaning as spoken ones. In order to avoid offending people of different nationalities, we mustt also use sensitivity when talking with them. We should learn how to communicate with diverse ethnic groups even inside our own nation because they may interpret our body language differently.
