Kit is summer and spring. Yellows, blues, golds, pinks, greens, the scent of vanilla and sugar, open air and earthy ground even in the city, cookie dough ice cream, vintage and novelty t-shirts, converse, dogs and and movie nights, flowers, grass, moss, crowns of ivy and flowers, clear blue oceans and sunny skies, waking early since he can't sleep anyway and watching sunrises, morning walks through still frozen grass. The colour of the early morning English sky, grey like eyes. Avoiding the night for who it reminds him of.

Ty is autumn, winter. Blacks, purples, Navy and maroon, the smell of old books, blood and ink stains, plaid and tweed, stone and brick ancient and full of wisdom of generations before, crowns of thorns and branches, cats and reading till your eyes burn, stormy skies and waves crashing, rain pattering against windows and the smell of London in the rain, desk light on late into the night. Late night walks when the ground is cold to the touch. The colour of the deepest depths of the ocean or the furthest reaches of the night skies. Avoiding the day, noon blue skies and sun rays for who it reminds him of.

imagine being 15 (terrible) and you live in a basement and are only allowed outside every once in a while under strict conditions (isolating) and then you watch your father get literally torn apart by demons (traumatizing) and then a bunch of strangers inform you that you are genetically one of those cultlike child soldiers that your dad always warned you about (migraine inducing) so now you have to go to their weird house in the middle of nowhere and live with the other child soldiers (frightening) and then the brain short circuitingly attractive guy who held you at knifepoint keeps sleeping outside your door and he and his sister keep following you everywhere (SCREAM???) and then some college aged guy shows up while you're collecting stuff to sell when you run away and announces that not only are you a child soldier but your ancestors were like famous and he's basically jesus and also your only living blood relative, and then busts you for stealing and gives you a therapy speech about how you shouldn't throw your life away (HUH???????) and then a bunch of annoying bigots come into the house and keep yapping at you about their shitty ideology (migraine inducing part 2) and also the government is falling apart, you're having your bisexual awakening at a REALLY inconvenient time, there's some guy committing heinous crimes against nature to raise his girlfriend from the dead but then he dies and turns into a demon magnet, you get multiple concussions, and a bunch of strange arcane mystical figures keep ominously trying to figure out why you look familiar (WTF)

How can Jeremy be an ex cocaine user, hated by all his family, blamed for his brother’s suicide, had his sexuality exposed for everyone in his freshman year and still be one of the most “normal live” characters cause his partner is a frenchman who was a victim of human trafficking and sold by his parents to a mafia and sentenced to years of abuse and torture in a sports team cult like in US

Listen. I hope I’m wrong. I hope in 1-3 days you all can point at this post and be like “look at this idiot for being paranoid.” I do. But I feel like the writing’s on the wall. There are no paths forward without Pennsylvania, and that gap is too large.

I hope the non-voters are happy. Legitimately. I hope the Green Party is happy. For real. I hope this outcome brings them the joy they hoped it would. I hope they don’t come to regret the next 2-4 years. I hope they’re at peace.

I hope Europe isn’t forced to change their stance on Ukraine like many Prime Ministers have warned they would. I hope there are Palestinians left in Gaza to liberate after Trump “finishes the job” and gets his real estate property. I hope the number of queer folk killed, whether individually or systematically, in the coming years is minimal. I hope the number of women killed by inaccessibility to medical care is minimal. I hope the number of disabled people who face financial hard times is minimal. I hope we genuinely can cruise through these next 4 years. I hope I’m still around to try and fix this in 2-4 years.

I hope the message the non-voters and Green Party sent is actually received. I hope they didn’t send the message to Democrats that conservatism is the way to win and what we should be embracing.

I hope that nothing in Project 2025 is completed. I hope we win at least one branch to throw a stick in the gears of fascism. I hope Trump bombs his second term so poorly that 2026 wipes the GOP out of the House and Senate.

I hope there’s still a global superpower to fix in 4 years. I hope that the corruption we’ve allowed to thrive tonight doesn’t infect our neighbors across the Atlantic like they fear it will.

I still hope for a better future. But I don’t believe that future is going to happen this time. I’m going to try to go to bed.

It was replied that it’s likely Magnus, Clary, Will, Jem, Cordelia, and Ty. My dreams of Kit paying the violin crushed before I could even start formatting a story lol. Maybe the reason they’re all grouped together will be revealed in time, or it’s just a random collection of people.

I just got The Secrets of Blackthorn Hall (whoooo) but I got an additional sticker that is keeping me up at night.

So do you think there was like maybe 3 minutes between seeing Neil irl for the first time and Neil opening his mouth that Jean thought he was pretty before he decided Neil is a horrifying creature?

If he has internalized homophobia then why he has no problem telling Dave he used to date a guy? Like, as you said, he cares about his reputation, and we know he really wanted Dave to like him, so that prolly means he was quite careful with what he could or couldn't say in front of him, specifically after he discovered that Bro abused him. So what I'm trying to say, if he cared about being gay, I think he would have avoided telling him he dated Jake? Or at least give it a second thought? I don't see what's the problem with Dirk being against labels, he seems that type of person, he prolly thinks that makes him more intellectual or some stupid thing like that

Hmmm thats not exactly what I said. I don't think Dirk has internalized homophobia so much as <he's afraid of the outside reception to the fact that he's gay, and how people will perceive him based on it>. Dirk knows that he's gay. We know Dirk is aware of that since he was at least 13, because he's already throwing undeniably romantic advances at Jake by then to test the waters. Dirk isn't in cutesy denial about anything here, he doesn't have the time or luxury for that. His problem is more that once you state 'Yes I Am Gay' as a definition of your character, that comes with a Lot of historical baggage and expectations- and from dirk's perspective, both the expectations and historical baggage are something so incredibly divorced from his reality in a future where no human society exists that he's waaaayyyyyy too careful of making that association. It could potentially bust the image he's trying to project.

Again, Dirk's thing is performance. Esp the performance of masculinity. He is the one homestuck character that truly, genuinely, wholeheartedly cares about putting up an image of what it means To Be Masc. He does this because he likes it. He's not forced to do it, he's not under societal pressure to do it, he's not whinning about how much he hates it, he's not doing it at gunpoint; this is a set of parameters he came up with for himself, even in complete isolation. They are a statement and holy boypledge he's making.

He thinks it is Very Cool, and he would like it if you thought it was Very Cool Too (especially if that transmits an image of how strong and reliable he "totally" is). And, again, when you think about our early 2000-10's context of GAYNESS, because homestuck is an extremely time-bound comic, the image "being gay" summons is... really not the one I described above. We're talking about gay men being stereotyped as catty & cowardly & effeminate, about the constant punchlines around 'useless fairies' (a term that was used to refer specifically *to* feminine, submissive, oft gender-transgressive gays ) not incidentally, Dirk's godtier is revealed to him in-comic through a drawing that depicts him as a fairy. He's immediately put off by it. Dirk and Jake's godtiers were called Fagtiers by more than a portion of the fandom. Relics of this are still high up on google images if you search for pictures of their godtiers, lol. Essentially, to admit to his gayness openly and broadly in that timeframe is to be stereotyped as something he doesn't entirely identify as, in an environment that is far from welcoming.

I am pretty open about reading Dirk as a trans man, and what I think is happening here is that together with Roxy's constant insinuations that Dirk Should Have Her Babies, Dirk is ultimately afraid that his claim to being a homosexual paints him as innately womanly. He either gets to be a man or he gets to love men. There's no middleground, or else these social features will cancel eachother out like pemdas. What we see in Homestuck is his haphazard attempt to keep both things intact. His courtship of Jake is only allowed if it is strictly masculine, if it seems like he has a semblance of control, if it looks like they are both just Dudes being Bros throwing it down like Fellow Action Men. This is harmful for Dirk and gives him extreme emotional constipation; not to speak of how tiring it is for Jake to try to keep up with this months-long improv game of Xtreme Axe Bodyspray Marathon when they could just... date. Jake really wouldn't mind if they decided to paint each other's nails or have stereotypical sleepovers or just chill out and have fun like Jane and Roxy are obviously doing. Jake would be fine with being soft so long as he's not being made fun of. But Dirk struggles with letting any sign of dangerous sensitivity show under the assumption that it will be read as a weakness, an inadmissible vulnerability in his set of armor.

Which becomes all the more relevant once you note that when Dirk's trying to convince Dave that he's not a threat and certainly not a monster, one of the first things he admits to is "I like men."

Jean Moreau be like Neil Josten was supposed to be my best friend and I consider that loss to be one of the worst things that ever happened to me. He's one of the select few who I trust to take me and my problems seriously and make good on his promises to me. Unfortunately he is also the fucking antichrist and everything he does is calibrated to spike my blood pressure.

(I do know there’s a fic about the topic out there as well but I.. don’t read fic much so 025’s was my intro the au train of thought and I fell in love with it. As someone who has just finished TSC, has invested far too much of their being into this series, and can’t find anything about this on the internet, does anyone know if TSC is it for Jean’s post-Raven story or if we’re going to get another book sometime in the future?

I feel like there was a lot left unsaid (for me especially with Jeremy’s family) in TSC but it also didn’t really set up much for future books.

I really just need to know if it should get my hopes up or not. I’m already going book hangover after speed-demoning TSC in two days on top of finals.

Just thinking about how Jean Moreau is one of the best backliners in Class I exy but I don’t think anyone has even seen his peek potential yet

Just thinking about how Neil is able to match Riko at every turn with his speed at the Final Raven v Foxes match and he catches Riko by surprise since Riko is not expecting Neil in top form as when Neil was at the nest he only got on the court after being beat and his physical condition only got worse as the weeks progressed.

So just thinking that about how Jean has never played an Exy game not in pain. He is one of the best even while always playing in pain somewhere on his body. So I can’t wait to see Jean realize what he can do when he finally gets to play when he’s not in pain.

And for everyone to realize that they’ve seen Jean Moreau play but they haven’t seen Jean Moreau play
