Is Chesward Canon? (Conspiracy Theory)

- “Be yourself and we’ll love you for it.” was a phrase on the cover for chapter 119, as many of us know. The same cover features the F5, and I’m sure we are safe to assume that Edward is the leader, so if one of them were to say this phrase it would likely be him. This is what I would like to call foreshadowing, since in chapter 119 all the F5 members are given personas- except Cheslock. Cheslock has to be himself. Put the pieces together and what do you have: Cheslock is being himself and that’s why Edward loves him.

- The cricket tournament. During Weston’s interhouse cricket tournament Edward copies Cheslock’s signature ‘purple burnout’ move. His reasoning for this is that all his talents come from the people he admires, for Edward to copy such a complex move, a move that required Cheslock’s specific fingertips for it to actually exist, he really must admire Cheslock a lot.

- They always stand next to each other.

- They met up at a party at Sphere Music Hall twice and enjoyed each other’s company.

- They fucking held hands in chapter 121, gaylluminati confirmed motherfuckers.

I personally adore that when Clayton tried to get involved, Edward immediately shut him down like “do not interfere with Ciel—no, Earl Phantomhive.” because if we circle it back to when Ciel first showed up to a Fag’s meeting and parallel it, it shows that yes, that’s his baby cousin, but he is not that right now.

He is working, and he’s good at his job, and if he’s acting as his title then it’s because the situation calls for it.

He wholeheartedly trusts Ciel is there, not as a student now that he’s revealed it, but in the Queen’s behalf (something he had been suspecting for a while now). No matter how confused he is, he knows Ciel will eventually reveal what’s going on, and if he doesn’t, well. There’s always a reason for that too.

So it’s like this: my baby cousin should respect me, but I respect the Earl.

There is a place and a time for everything, and Edward understood the assignment.
