It’s May! The best month of the year. The warblers are back. There’s flowers again. Insects are buzzing. IT’S ALL HAPPENING! Here’s a few things to be on the lookout for this month: Mama Virginia opossums carrying their babies, new england cottontails, magnolia warblers, hxagonal-pored polypores, bay-breasted warblers, black-and-white warblers, and northern parulas. Superstars of April!

I can’t believe the month is almost over. It’s still too cold in Maine for my liking, but the singing birds and frogs convince me to go outside and check out the action.

This painting celebrates some of favorite things to spot after a long winter without them. Like palm warblers, eastern phoebes, hermit thrushes, yellow-rumpled warblers and wood frogs.
