So I've been making polymer clay jewellery since November last year, inspired by Indo-Persian art and Henna! Here's some of the pieces.
As a henna artist it's been so exciting and fulfilling exploring other forms of wearable art. I've poured so much time and love into these and considering its my first time ever doing something like this I'm so happy with the way these turned out. Everything is handmade!

Afaik though caste is not as much of a thing among Bengali Muslims
#T#From my own personal experience and talking to Bangladeshi friends#Classism is a huge issue but hereditary caste not so much#Bengali Muslims also don't always have a family surname that they give all their kids#I only have the same last name as my dad because he was already living in the US when I was born and decided it would be easier for us#To follow the cultural norm here#But his last name is not the same as his father's#And I think he and his brothers have the same last name but his sisters have a different one#Which isn't the only way naming works among Bengali Muslims but it is a common one#It used to confuse me a lot as a kid lol

"New Yorkers bite more people than sharks annually" is an excellent example of how statistics can be misleading. Like yeah no shit, do you have any idea how rare it is to even encounter a shark in the wild? They're not exactly urban animals. I'm pretty damn sure that if sharks were living in big cities like pigeons, just strolling down the streets looking for food scraps, you'd see a lot more news stories about New Yorkers biting them.
