The strategy is very useful for memorizing in a few courses. For me, to remember a lot of equations in Chemistry, i would like to use it to solve a lot of complicated understanding questions. I use these strategies in my Calc and Chem courses. They are quite useful though in science classes. It is easier for me to remember various equations in different situations. It works well, but the biggest difficulty is that it is really hard for me to use it in other science courses because they do not need to memorize.

1. What benefits are you hoping to get from trying the strategy?
There are tons of concepts I need to remember, basically every course I take. This memory strategy can help me to get higher GPA
2. How you used the strategy and what courses did you use it for?
I use this strategy in PSY 205 class, because this course need to memorize a lot of definitions, it is very helpful to study psychology.
3. How did the strategy work? Describe the benefits and the challenges. For the challenges describe what could you do differently to make it work better for you?
This strategy works very well, after I understand all of them,I imagine those concepts as pictures and stick them to my mind.

1. There’s a lot of stuff need to remember whatever the class is social science or natural science. These strategies can help me remember those information much quicker than before. It used to take me a lot of time..especially i usually remember things in midnight. Try this new stretagies only takes me few minutes.
2. Philosophy class/ geography class/ earth science class/ basically every class
3. Instead remember each difficult words..combine them into into a acronym like a little song can help me remember that quickly especially with the correct time order.

1. What benefits are you hoping to get from trying the strategy?
I felt I became more confident on the upcoming exam, it is because I reviewed earlier than I did before.
2. How you used the strategy and what courses did you use it for?
I used this strategy on my ECN 203 class. For the COPER strategy, it helps me find out what I should review, which is surprisingly efficient. I quickly reviewed some questions I might have on the exam. Then I had a bunch of time to study other courses.
3. How did the strategy work? Describe the benefits and the challenges. For the challenges describe what could you do differently to make it work better for you?
The problem solving strategy works really well for me. After trying this strategy, I am no longer a procrastinator. Review seems to be easier for me and I started to hope the exam day. This strategy works pretty well for me with no challenges.

This week we learn some problem solving strategies which are very helpful for our college study.
Rank:
A. Is Versus Wants: a problem-solving chart, this method shows our problem clearly, and build actions and plans in it. We can follow the step and go over the problem.
B.Ranking Priorities: this method shows clearly the order of each problem and gives us a hint about that which problem is more important that you need to solve first.
C. One step at a Time: this method may focus on one problem and you can evaluate the possible do by yourself, and then write down what you will do to solve it.

For the problem solving strategy, I use it in all the courses, because it is very organized and help me know what I need to do next. Recently, i use it in Chemistry and Calc exams, because I need higher grades in next exams to improve my GPA. The strategy works because I have finished most of my steps on time to finish my goals. The biggest challenge is to use this strategy in all kinds of problems.

1. This week we learn some problem solving strategies. I really have some curent problems in college study. Actually not only on study..but also some social problems. Sometimes it makes me anxious and frustrated. Problem solving strategies give me some idea to avoid some negative attitude.
2. Philosophy course + geo research project
3. I try the problem solving chart (is versus wants), cost, and ranking priorities. The chart help me build a solution process in philosophy exam to slow down my anxious. Also the ranking priority also show an order of problem clearly.

Procrastination is my biggest enemy. t helps me to organize time more properly. As a result, I can have more spare time to use.

I used my strategy on my psychology exam, I started to review for it a week ago, and I am feeling good right now because I have more time on it.

Procrastination is always my biggest problem. And I always upload my assignments late because of it; as a result, I often miss a lot of points and cannot get a good gpa.

Procrastination is always my biggest problem. And I always upload my assignments late because of it; as a result, I often miss a lot of points and cannot get a good gpa.
It often occurs in my ENL class, because the course is not so hard and it requires a lot of small assignments. I do not need a large amount of time to finish them, so I always do them at the last second.
I always feel guilty when I do them at the end, but I still do not want to do them at the beginning.

Group work week#8
This week we talk a lot about procrastination which is a common problem that we have especially in college and it may ruin our score especially when we are lazy before the exam. Procrastination is the excuse when we don’t want to do our job on time. Most of these excuses have negative influence in our study and daily life.
Methods to come over
1. Check your target planner every morning and remainder yourself what you should do today.
2.Check it after u done your class and go back home. Is there anything you forget?
3.Creating a procrastination model (like the monkey) to motivate you
4. Reward yourself after done one project or finish your exam.(1 extra social hour/ watch one movie on Friday night)

Ruihong Week #8
This week we talk a lot about the procrastination. I always have this problem especially in some easy course like GEO155 and ENL202. I can easily do well in exam. So, sometimes when I have assignments or exams in these courses, I just lazy and do not want to study or take a review.

I really need review because I cannot make sure I’ll do well on each exam because I cannot make sure I remember some certain points that professor added on the review sheet. I put my target planner on the wall so I can see it every morning when I wake up!

1. The reading strategy is a way to help me learn from the passages efficiently, so that I can study from texts more in the future. 2. I use this strategy in my Calculus class because I need to check a lot of passages including various examples. I can quickly get the information from the texts to help me solve my problems. 3. The strategy is pretty useful and beneficial for me because I am a visual learner, I can accept this strategy very quickly. Reading Strategies!!
Top one: X minute reading! Decide a time-start to read-summarize materials-take time to review-then reward! Reward is a good motivation whatever just a candy or 1 tv show or 20min game. This reward can encourage us to done the horrible reading!
Top two: Smart T! Smart T can provided a clear organizetion/ structure of the reading material. When you write down the key word of each chapter, it help you to understand the reading, and also the test question really help you prepare for the test!
Top three: Mr.R! We use Mr.R to create flash cards and write down about key informations. With these flash cards, we can review the reading material by connecting those key points.

1. Reading strategy is an important part of our study, eventhough i do not have so much required reading material this semester, but if I want to study the course better, I have to read the commended book to review the class and get some details that professor would not talk during the class.
2. reading 1 X minute: philophy class--maditation 1 2. Smart T, GEO215 climate change, chapter 11 textbook. 3.Mr.R: required reading of research paper--pork!
3. Reading strategies provide a clear out line of the reading material before start reading and I have to write down the kep point during reading each chapter. This really help me to remember what imreading. I used to read the whole reading without write down anything, so that im easy to forget.

PICTURE 2-6: NSAS: No Salt And Sauce for my PSY 205 class. I created flashcards.
PICTURE 7: X Minute Reading for my PSY 205 class. I created a graphic organizer.
From these reading strategies I can understand the materials better. I used this these strategies for my PSY 205, which is my most challenging class because the majority of questions on the test is about definitions. This helped memorize them better and I feel more confident to read contexts. I will definitely use these in the future.
