I’m alive

It’s been a long time since I came around here. It’s been three hard months, I didn’t expect so much time would pass by and so many things would happen. It’s been three months and almost one hundred people dead, by the hand of the police and the National Guard. One of them was a boy who studied in my university, back in April, and that’s the one who hit me the hardest. 

This may sound dramatic -and it probably is- but I feel as if I have seen way too much death, pain and despair. It’s been hard, but we’re still strong and I’m doing my best to keep a good mood and don’t let this situation suffocate me. I just finished this uni trimester, which was hard to get by, but one I could not abandon. 

The protests and demonstrations have gotten harder and longer. We’ll have a general strike of 48 hours, because on Sunday we’re suppose to have an election about making a new constitution, which we don’t want and don’t legitimize. 

The coming days are going to be hard, but I’m here to tell you that I have not forgotten about Unconditionally and my other fics, they are my way to escape reality for a few hours, even if it’s been incredibly hard for me to write in times like this. I feel as if I’ve said this way too many times, but I’m working on the chapter and I want to give to you just how you deserve it, and not one with a vibe that picks up all of my negative feelings.

I’m alive, which is something one should be grateful for in Venezuela, and all your messages and comments make me feel so good, even if I can’t answer to them. Thank you for being here for me and thank you for being patient. I love you all, guys, and I hope I can give you the story you deserve very soon!

Unconditionally

Hey guys. I just wanted to explain why I haven't updated in the last weeks: My country (Venezuela) is going through a very hard moment. There are many things wrong now (the government, the economy, the industries), simple things as buying milk, coffee or even soap have become an herculean task (because they are way too expensive or because we just don't find them). People, including myself, are out on the streets asking for a better country and life. There are protests every day here, people are killed by the government because the party there does not want to leave power. I am participating in these protests (as most of people) and it's hard for me to think of anything else but what's happening at the moment, even studying is hard when one feels as everything will stay the same or even worse if we venezuelans don't do something now. I'm working in the fic, at a very slow pace, but I'm not abandoning. My priorities have changed for the moment, but Unconditionally doesn't leave my mind and I have so many things prepared for it that there's no way I'd ever think of leaving it. I hope you can understand, and for a moment, appreciate the life you're living at the moment, even if it's just for an anonymous fan fic author that dreams of a better future for her beautiful country!

Yurio: *sigh* Fine. *randomly pulls a tank top from Otabek's wardrobe* You've got scissors, right?

The possibility of Otayuri becoming canon

So in this post-Welcome to the Madness daze and with the information that has been released today, I would like to do some speculation about the character dynamic between Yurio and Otabek and the possible implications for this ship to become canon. I have already written a bit about this in a comment to another post here, but I would like to elaborate.

Again, this is just me throwing around ideas, with a good dose of wishful thinking.

-          Otabek enters the story quite late as a character. He is there from the beginning but we only get to see him interact with the others from episode 10 onwards. The focal point becomes what his relation is to Yuri. He whisks him away on his motorcycle, takes him to one of the most beautiful vistas in the city and then casually drops how he has admired him for the past five years. Then he offers Yuri his friendship, which has apparently never occurred in Yuri’s life before, they go for a coffee and Mari is stunned to see Yuri normally interact with another human being for a change. It’s up to you to ignore any fond gazes during this scene. What’s worth mentioning is that Yuri seems kind of perplexed by this whole thing. The “eyes of a soldier” line gets to him, because it is probably the first time someone sees him for who he wants to be.

what i love about welcome to the madness it’s that it’s like. yuri finally gets to have fun and skate the way he wants? for his SP he was attributed a song he didn’t feel matched his personality so he could work and improve from there, his FS music was more dynamic but it was still lilia who orchestrated everything with the whole “prima ballerina” thing, and now for his exhibition, he just went, fuck it, fuck all of you, it’s not a competition so i’m gonna skate to a song I actually like, and wear the clothes I want, and i’ll have sunglasses and make-up and otabek will be here and you cannot fuckin s t o p  m e
