I'm C. This used to be an art blog, still kind of is, but is more like a hub for OC stuff and fanart. It's mostly aesthetics and memes. Icon by @cryptid-coyote 🎉 I started playing DND so thats.... 99% of my content rn- my PC. Working on fixing my tagging system... might not actually ever fix that.

Dragons are Not Creative. They can be intelligent, wise, and powerful, but when it comes to inventing they fall short. On average a dragon will have four to five original ideas in its whole lifetime, and will do it's best to brute force fix every problem with one of those ideas- effectiveness of the solution ignored (it's a pride thing). This, paired with their total unwillingness to work with other dragons, is often attributed as the main reason for dragons not being the dominant species.
Draconic naming conventions are shaped by their lack of creativity as well. Hatchlings name themselves shortly after leaving the nest, and may rename themselves as they grow to better fit their personalities. Almost all dragon names are lifted from previous Draconic bloodlines, mythologies of other species, or other interests of the individual that makes for a good title. One of the ultimate markers in Draconic success is to have their usage of the name become the common knowledge default... the page Wikipedia brings you to first when you search it.
Dragons are however masters at utilizing ideas and methods they learned from other sources. Idea hoarding, so to speak. They have excellent memory and can master any subject so long as there is a master before them to learn from.
