I donât think many of us understand the implications of Jungkook putting his arm around Jimin massaging his nape, looking him in the face while saying âWe went on our first trip to TokyoâŠ..thatâs why I wanted to come backâ in the softest most romantic tone ever.
No I donât think we get it because Jungkook just very casually admitted that that trip to Tokyo with Jimin was extremely special to him that while thinking about where to go again, he wanted to return to the same place he went with Jimin years ago, to relive the moment. I didnât even really get it at the moment because alot happened in episode 6 but I decided to rewatch the episode today and thatâs when it hit me and I donât know why people arenât screaming about this more.
It wasnât just what he said but how he said it and what he did while saying it. Imagine Jungkookâs âboyfriendâ or âgirlfriendâ watching Jungkook touch Jiminâs nape while looking at him and telling him in the softest tone ever that he wanted to come back to this place just because it was where they went to for their first trip. That would have been my cue to quietly pack my bags and leave especially because Jungkook literally had just two weeks before he enlisted yet he choose to spend his last free days traveling with another man to make memories that he will think about while enlisted đđœââïž ABOMINATION!

Jimin and Jungkook tearing down evil walls and building castles. A fortress. Building an empire of pure honesty. I am you and you are me. I come back from my trip with you and I'm radiant. I come back, and again, I caress you the whole time. I look for drawings in the clouds with you, I publish it and the smile on my face can almost be seen on the other side of the screen. I, smiling, talk about it. I sing your song all the time by your side, we laugh, we are constantly creating symbols, without pause, we are in a ridiculous tune. Together we created a brand in the world, mine and yours, I'm sure, and you? We are sure. I want the snow by your side and your bald hair when everything around us is military duty. What is that? They say that friendship is love that works. And what's beyond that? What is the physical form of love that worked? If there are five thousand explanations for love, they are five thousand and one.

I actually have a crazy theory...
I have already sent this ask as the response to someone elseâs thoughts, but then I thought about it and I REALLY wanted to know your opinion about this.
I think Jikook by the beginning of last year didn't know they were enlisting together.
I think they obviously knew about buddy system but didn't actually think they would need to use it. Because it's not really done by idols, and also they both could've gone to safer and easier stations, where they could have more freedom.
BUT THEN Jimin started working intensely on his album and JK started acting out (like having drunken lives), and it became VERY CLEAR that they would not be able to do 18 months apart.
I mean do you remember, that at this time JK said himself that he was not working on anything. And I think the plan was for Jimin to go first (just like a lot of us thought he would) and for JK to have more time for promo alone, when others are gone (Iâm pretty sure that HYBE definitely wanted for JK to have big solo debut apart from other members).
But then like I said the drunken lives happened and realization hit, that they have to apply for buddy system, that 18 months apart would be BAD for both of them.
And that's when HYBE (or whoever) made specific demands from JK. Like if he wanted to leave by the end of the year (and he had to for buddy system to work) he HAS TO do the album, and because there was no time to write it from scratch they got all the English songs. Also his schedule was extremely packed and difficult.
So I think that the travel show was something Jikook specifically done for themselves because JK's schedule was so insane that if not for that excuse they would not be able to hang out freely before the enlistment. (By the way am I the only one who thinks that we are getting the travel show only next year? And waiting for it now is kinda crazy?)
But again it's just my theory, mostly because HYBE doesn't feel (to me) like the company who would just let their artists do whatever they want. To me they are waaay more pragmatic than that, and if they decided to allow their stars to enlist together (something that isn't really done in idol culture), than they would make sure to get something in return. They worked JK very hard, and I think he took it because he had a specific goal (more like a person) in mind that he was willing to work for.
So, although we might be on the same wave with some of your thoughts, I don't fully agree with you.
I agree that they didn't know they would be enlisting together way back at the start of 2023.
I think that way back then they were still struggling with the realization that they will have to be enlisting. All the way back to the end of 2022, basically up to around the Busan concert, which was October 2022, they still held hope that some kind of arrangement could and would be found to allow for them not to enlist or to serve a shorter term. It was quite a conundrum for them, something I think most of them struggled with (and I say most because I do think that at least one of them did genuinely want to enlist) - on the one hand this is a life changing pretty scary thing (terrifying even - we saw how sad, and I will even say broken, JM was having to shave off his hair, and that was only a small part of it) they would have to do (joining the army is not a walk in the park, no pun intended), not to mention being in their prime, in the height of their success, having to part with the life they are accustomed to (professionally and personally), not being something they would necessarily want to do. And on the other hand you have that sense of commitment to the country and to their fellow Koreans, that have to face that same compulsory enlistment, adding the knowledge that not taking that path of enlistment could also come at a price. Like us, they knew that there were those that indeed believed they should be given an exemption, but at the same time many Koreans would have frowned upon it, and it's them that have to live among their people. Also, enlisting like any other SK young man would allow them more freedom in the future when it comes to voicing their opinions, as they had, like all others who had served their country fulfilling their duties. Criticisms of anything within a society you live in is easier to swallow when the person voicing said opinion is part of that society and enjoys not only the rights bestowed on those who live there, but has also fulfilled all required duties as well.
Long story short, end of 2022 the decision to enlist became a reality and Jin enlisting hit them all VERY hard. At that point I don't think they had a plan of enlistment just yet, although we do know from RM, for instance, that he was supposed to enlist with Hobi but ended up pushing back as he was busy working on his album and preferred not to lose the momentum.
And btw, hearing this from RM also teaches us that JM was never going to enlist so early on. And here I think our ways part when it comes to the continuation of your theory, because I do believe that JM's plan had ALWAYS been to stick around for JK's solo debut, whenever that would be. And I'll get back to it in a few...
JK was struggling start of 2023. What we got to see, starting with his lives in Feb 2023, him deleting his IG, was him pulling himself out of the pit he was in. Taking initiative and deleting his IG (which I will once again say was a big old F U to the company) and reaching out to us with his lives was JK becoming more active in getting better.
*Side note: I'm using the term getting better meaning pulling yourself out of a bad place you are in mentally (one that effects you physically as well).
Idk if starting the lives was a conscious decision on his part towards getting better, but I do believe that starting them was a key part in it.
Talking to us, sharing things with us, setting (at least trying to set) boundaries with his fans what is and is not acceptable on his part as an idol when it comes to fan behavior and interactions with him, doing it all in the most JK way, intelligently and respectfully.
JM was busy all the way from end of July 2023 through to the release of Face and until the end of his promotions. It's not that they weren't seeing each other or spending time together during this time. It's not that JM wasn't there for JK, as much as he could in the moment. It's very important to state this. But JK was struggling with everything. It's the hiatus, Jin's enlistment, their looming enlistment (the unknown of what will be with the two of them - separation for such a long time is something that both of them would find extremely hard to handle for so many reasons), the lack of direction, the lack of a structured timetable (JK is neuro divergent - there is zero doubt in my mind - if it's asd or adhd or a combination of the two, which in my mind is the most likely of them all). He was kind of lost and his anchor, JM, was not available in the way that he needed. Not JM's fault. Not JK's fault. It just was what it was, and JK was a little lost. It's natural for something like this to happen. I spoke about it quite a bit in my posts about his lives at the time. We saw RM was kind of lost for a while there too. The trick is to pick yourself up and pull yourself out of it (with help of others if necessary), and JK did, and JM was ecstatic to see him doing it. Those comments of his during JK's lives (we are talking about the lives during Feb-Mar 2023) were testimony to that.
Once again I can't seem to reign myself in and keep on point, lol.
So, where was I? Oh yes, they didn't know what will happen, but at the same time JM was not planning on enlisting earlier that year. Understand this: JM enlisting earlier would, to them, mean them being apart for not 18 months, but for 18 months plus. Plus the time between JM's enlistment and JK's enlistment. And plus the time from JM's discharge to JK's discharge. Even without JK's situation this was not something that they would want or agree on. Not to mention JK not only wanting JM around for his solo debut, but NEEDING him around for it. And it's not about being by his side 24/7, which he wasn't and he couldn't be. It's about being accessible. Being there to support him if he needed. Whenever he needed it. Being able to be with him for his first solo performance (this brings me close to another ask I received and am working on regarding JK's FIRST big solo performance). All this has to be within the limits of their glass closet (glass getting a little murky for their own liking since the end of 2021 all the way to the end of 2023), and the limits set by the powers of be (some of which JK very defiantly crossed). So yeah, JM was going to wait for JK's solo debut before enlisting.
As for enlisting together. That was something that was being assessed and in the works for several months. Something obviously kept quiet for good reason.
Was there a give and take with the company when it came to JK and the album? 100%. There were things he wanted, there were things they wanted, there were frogs that it being a first solo album he knew he would have to swallow.
Were some of these concessions given to allow the two more freedom, like allowing the 'travel show'? I do believe they were. Perhaps also prices paid (with Golden) for demands agreed upon in their new contracts. I can definitely see that happening.
The push for a full length album could be one of those, for example. JK was talking about a mini album even as late as mid July, and then it turned into a full length album. Could it have been the company pressuring him into it? Yes it could, as in the company wanting this. But JK is not one to cave in just because the company wants. So very possibly we had a bit of give and take going on here, and some of it most definitley would have had to do with allowances made for the two of them.
But at the same time I don't think it had anything to do with the joint enlistment. Not only don't I think that the company would have a say in it, legally or morally, but this wouldn't be something that either of them would stand for. So, in case I didn't make myself clear here, I will say it again - the company didn't use the possibility of joint enlistment as a tool to get something extra out of JK.
You talk about Hybe not being a company that will allow their artists to do as they wish. BTS belong to Big Hit, which is a subsidiary of Hybe. But Hybe would not have existed if not for BTS. BTS made BH what it is today and Hybe was built on their coat tails. And BTS, the members, they have enjoyed many freedoms within their company over the years. Not full freedom though. And Jikook, well they were allowed to be (while in other companies this was not allowed, couples forced apart or forced out). And not only were they allowed to be, but towards the end of 2020 there was movement towards normalizing their relationship, ear suck, hickey and all.
But then came Hybe and Hybe going public, and I knew the day that was announced that even though the members will get a huge payout this move will cost them freedoms they already had, because now there were shareholders and share prices to worry about, and when your band is the main bread winner for that company, well, as I mentioned, there is a price to pay. And they have been paying that price. The two of them for the 2 years prior to their enlistment. As long as they were under their old contracts they were bound by them. Which is why I feel like there will be changes coming when they are done with their MS and well into their new contracts. This will be freedom regarding their art (I think we can already see part of that with RM's new album) but also regarding their personal lives, in a sense of what they can or cannot show if they choose to. JK telling us he's human, telling us he loves us but he deserves to be happy, or even more needs to be happy to be able to create and perform and make us happy (you need to be especially dense if you don't understand that this also includes being in a relationship with another person, who may or may not be a member of his own band). This includes setting boundaries with their fans - yes they love them and feel indebted to them, but at the same time they need to stay in their own lane (I do think JK has been too nice at times setting these boundaries, while others like RM, Yoongi and Tae - a couple of times - were way blunter).
Once again, Hybe wouldn't have the right to 'allow' or 'disallow' them to enlist together. This would have been their decision and theirs alone. Hybe could talk about timing and what they would like to happen before or after, but not if it can or will happen. Hybe could like or dislike it, support it or not, but they would have no power over it. The military alone would have a say if to allow it or not, and at the end of the day we know how that one ended.
I also want to touch on another point.
Again.
Their choice to enlist together.
I've seen talk about Jikookers using the term NEED when it comes to the two of them - needing to be with one another to get through their military service, and I wanted to put in my two cents on this.
The way I think of it is that when people use the term need in that case it's not about saying that if they weren't allowed to enlist together they wouldn't have survived it. No. That isn't it. Not in my opinion, in any case.
These two young men are strong physically and mentally, and they would get through whatever was thrown their way (wouldn't be easy, I tell you that, but they would get through it). Chances are that if they wouldn't have gone down the path of enlisting together they could have landed a cushier placement, band perhaps, like NJ, who knows. But definitley the choice to do this together had a price tag to it, and their letters from Festa tell us as much as well (even though they obviously sugar coat it for us, but the sentiments are clear - it's hard).
So, they chose this. They knew this was going to be hard. A harder, more difficult, placement if they were to go down this path. And yet this was their choice!!
Why?
And here comes that NEED into play.
Yes, I do think that they needed this. They needed each other. They needed to not be separated for 18 months not knowing if and how often they could get to see each other or be together (maybe, if allowed, once in 3 months, and only if their units allowed the time off at the same time). They needed that person that they trusted and KNEW that would stand by their side, that would support them, be their rock, catch them when they fall, be by their side in their time of need, just like they always have been.
They are each other's PERSON. The one that would ALWAYS be there through good and bad.
They both put it down in words:
JM
And JK
Shock, awe... I must be one of those delusional Jikookers that believe JK's lyrics were not describing his relationship with us, the fans. Another song written for the one person they love, yet given as a gift to Army.
And in his very subtle but intelligent way, he told us that himself:
"Even when I was working on the song, I really wanted to release it as a fan song".
Just like JM did, eh?
Would it be too hard to just say : "I wrote this song for my fans"? He chose not to, didn't he? Once again we have choices here.
I digress.
You could replace NEED with WANT, if you will. Same same in this case, imo. Seeing how hard they fought to find their way to this exact point.
The first, the only idols to ever do this!!
Bottom line:
To me, using the term NEED in this context is not about them not being able to make it otherwise, but more about a choice made to have that person they feel closest to, the person that has since forever been their emotional anchor, the person that lifted them up when they fell, the person that stood by them, cared for them, supported them when they were struggling. The person that KNEW them to the core and would be there by their side to get through this together with.
Each other.

JIKOOK AND THEIR RAINY DAY FIGHT
Itâs been a year since Jk officially told us the story (or part of it) of the rainy day fight and i thought we should talk about it for a bit.
To so many people, the rainy day story might just be a fun silly story that two band members told about a silly fight they had but the rainy day story and how it was told by both Jimin and Jungkook told so much much about their bond and about the kind of people they are individually and together.
Last year, Jk went Live and someone asked him about the rainy day story and he told us this:
I really love how detailed Jungkook gets when he tells stories. He doesnât leave room to context to be added or taken out because he pretty much lays everything on the table.

And then we had Jiminâs own side of the story

One of my favourite things about the rainy day story is that you can clearly tell so much about Jimin and Jungkookâs real dynamics and just how much they mean to each other from listening to them talk about it.
This is something that happened years ago and off camera which they never even spoke about till Jungkook decided to mention it during Festa 2020, and said it was something he still felt sorry about. I think it is important to note that this happened when the boys were still rookie. We donât know the exact year but iâm guessing it probably happened around 2015 or so and this was the era where many people still believe that Jikook didnât get along and Jungkook hated Jimin.
So what we know from the story is that the members were all mad at Jungkook because of his tone and the fact that he didnât listen (he was stubborn) and it was so bad that even Hobi (who is like an angel) got mad at Jungkook too. This point kind of reminds me of the part of the BTS book where Jungkook spoke about how when he was younger, he was sometimes very oblivious to how his words and actions affected those around him.

Jk acknowledged that his tone wasnât good and that was basically what made the members mad but what is what noting is that, Jimin was the only one who thought it wise to call Jk aside to talk to him. Jimin is a stickler for the rules and some values like respect for the older are important to him so it was important to him that all maknaes showed respect to their hyungs but i guess in the midst of this talk, things got heated and Jimin ended up telling Jungkook that he wouldnât care for him anymore and Jk can do whatever he likes. He them stormed out and Jk stormed out too.
This part is very important to me because this shows us that unlike what some solos think, Jimin is and has always been very capable of cutting off people who took him for granted. Many solos feel like Jimin is too kind and lets people walk all over him but this isnât true at all. Jimin is the kindest person ever but he knows where to draw the line. Jimin loves Jungkook with all his being but he wasnât afraid to threaten to cut him off and not give a damn about him when he felt like Jungkook was being an ass.
Another part that is important to me is that, Jungkookâs actions after Jimin threatened to cut him off and stop caring for him shows that Jimin was important to him. Jiminâs love, affection and care were very important to Jungkook and even if he had never realized just how much they were before this day, he definitely did when he felt like he had lost Jiminâs love. We know from him that he wandered around and got lost because he was angry and hurt and in this vulnerable state and even with the fact that he was mad at Jimin and Jimin was mad at him, Jimin was the only one he thought of calling when he didnât know his way back home. Jungkook could have called any other member and i am sure all of them would have happily gone to look for him but at that point, the only person Jungkook thought of calling was the one person he just argued with, was mad at and who was mad at him.
Do yâall remember when Jungkook was asked which hyung gave him the most comfort and attention? His answer was Jimin and this story told me just how much of a comfort and solace and safe place Jimin was/is to Jungkook. I say this because, who is the first person you think of calling when you are in trouble or at your most vulnerable? Who is the first person you think or calling when you are sad, lonely and afraid? I think it speaks volumes that the person Jk wanted to talk to more than anyone else at this point was Jimin.
Jk explained that he battled with himself when he tried calling Jimin. He started calling and then hung up asking himself why he should call Jimin, and then repeated the action a few more times before Jimin picked up on one of his other attempts. This also speaks volumes. Jungkook was a stubborn kid and by his own admission, he was proud hence the battle between his rational mind and his pride to call Jimin but we can clearly see that his need to talk to Jimin at that time was stronger than his pride and he couldâve literally taken the easy way out by calling Tae, Hobi, Jin, Namjoon or Suga and they would have happily gone to help him out but he didnât. This might sound a little dramatic but i think at that point, Jimin was all Jungkook needed and wanted.
We know from Jungkook and Jimin picked up the phone and asked him where he was and Jungkook who had been crying at this point because of his anger, sadness and possibly because he couldnât find his way back home, couldnât even get his words out and Jimin had to scold him saying âi told you not to call meâ and then Jungkook said he didnât know where he was.
It is worth noting that Jimin was mad at Jungkook. So mad that he threatened to stop caring for jungkook and walked out on him yet he picked up immediately Jungkook called him. He was mad at Jungkook but his anger couldnât surpass how much he loved the maknae so much that he immediately softened up the moment he heard him crying and saying he didnât know where he was. Jimin was immediately ready to go look for Jungkook before Jungkook said he would take a taxi. Any other person (including me) might have gone back into the dorm to wait for Jungkook because it was pouring cats and dogs outside but noâŠ.Jimin stood outside in the rain for God knows how long, waiting for Jungkook to get home. (I still donât understand how Jk solos could hate Jimin lord knows i would be worshipping him because this boy loved Jungkook will his whole heart) Jimin waited for Jungkook outside until Jungkook got there and immediately hugged him when he saw him. They then went to the roof, talked, cried together, Jungkook apologized and promised to do better and it was all smiles after that.
The way Jimin and Jungkook both told this story tells you so much about the kind of people they both are and about how much they mean to each other.
When Jungkook told the story, he took all the blame and didnât blame Jimin for anything but blamed himself for being immature and rude. When he told the story, he wanted us to understand that he was the cause of the issue and Jimin only acted out of love for him but when Jimin told the story, Jimin didnât blame Jungkook at all. Infact he didnât even single Jungkook out to say he was being a little rude, he grouped all the maknaes together and said they all had to be careful with their tones towards the hyungs. Jimin didnât put the blame on Jungkook like Jk did himself, instead Jimin put the blame on himself by saying that he acted like a âkkhondaeâ (an older person who thinks they are always right). He took the blame for the whole thing the same way Jk took the blame for the whole thing. Not once did these two point any fingers at each other and this speaks volumes about the kind of people they are. They are thoughtful, sensitive and highly emotionally intelligent. Jungkook wasnât always like this by his own admission but he learned so much and has grown up so much and no wonder he attributes his thoughtfulness and how considerate he is to Jimin. No wonder in the BTS book, he mentioned that all the members had seeped into him and he was full of Jiminâs actions. Itâs also no wonder Jk said Jiminâs charm is his thoughfulness and how considerate he is of others.

They both clearly rubbed off on each other in the best possible ways. They complete each other in so many ways and it is one of the most beautiful things to witness.
Jimin did say he couldnât tell the whole story and parts of it had to be edited out so i guess there is some important parts they left out for reasons best known them (maybe the were some smooches on the roof but who knows) but what we do know and what they did tell us, speaks volumes.
I have rambled alot but from this little story, i learnt that
-Jimin is and has always been very important to Jungkook. Contrary to what many people have decided to fool themselves with, Jungkook loves and has always loved Jimin as well as any love, care or attention Jimin showed him. These things were important to Jungkook and he didnât want to lose them. If he didnât care like many people want to believe, that would have been a perfect opportunity to get Jimin off him for good but instead he did everything in his power to make things right and that included using his tears to soften Jiminâs heart.
-Jimin isnât a pushover. The man is kind, thoughtful and caring but he isnât an idiot. He is very capable of walking away from things or people who donât treat him like he deserves and the proof of that is in the fact that it didnât take much for him to threaten to take his love away from Jungkook. So before you say Jk treats Jimin like trash and Jimin lets him, remember that in this case, it wasnât Jimin who went crying and apologizing. Donât underestimate how tough Jiminâs heart can get.
-Jungkook cares about what Jimin thinks of him way more than he shows. Sometimes he acts aloof or cold but this is just how he deals with his feelings and not that he doesnât care what Jimin thinks of him. I still remember how he said he teases Jimin alot because he really likes him. Jungkook is such a simple person and so easy to understand, so i donât know how some people donât get it.
-Jimin and Jungkook stick up for each other and are protective of each other.
-Jungkook is alot more sensitive than he looks. Many people see Jungkook with his muscles and tattoos and immediately think he is a bad boy who couldnât give a tiny rats ass about anyoneâs feelings but baby is the complete opposite of his looks. He is incredibly sensitive and loves with all his heart. He is the one who talks to bugs and apologizes to fish before cooking them. He is the one who cries when his loved ones cry, he is the one who watches movies and cries when sad things happen and he is the one who cries uncontrollably when he feels like he is at the risk of losing the love of one of his favourite hyungs.
The rainy day story taught me that these two love each other so much and have a deeper bond that we will ever know. They donât only have a physical closeness but an emotional one. Jimin is Jungkookâs comfort and safe place and if this wasnât evident from the rainy day story, it is evident in how these two have consistently chosen to be together in the most important moments of their lives.

i don't get the significance of changing "and i still want you" to "but i still want you". i did read all your posts about it and everything else is now obvious to me. not the and x but change tho. could you help a clueless anon? lol thank you!
TTU last Seoul concerts 2019 was huge for me anon, you are so right.
I absolutely adore that song. Itâs sad and meaningful and their performances, even more so the live performances are so emotional and raw. If Iâm already at it, I would like to recommend you watch a specific performance of this song. Other than the last performances in Seoul 2019, this one is my favourite. Again, the raw emotions you get from them all, and Vâs part, just wow.
youtube
They end the song JMâs back to JK.
Obviously Iâm not the staging director and I donât know for sure why this staging was chosen, I can only guess. But what I see is that JM is singing alone âand I still want youâ, heâs the âmonsterâ for this part, he wants but he canât have, and heâs resigned to the fact that he canât have it, hence the facing away. Could be total bull, and obviously itâs up for interpretation, not to mention the fact that my forte is facts not literature and interpretations of poems and art, but there you have it - what I see in that specific staging and performance of that song. Take it or leave it, lol.
That was the staging and performance throughout the whole tour, even when the stage itself and the costumes changed. JM singing âand I still want youâ, the last line, by himself, back turned to JK.
But for the last 3 Seoul concerts in October 2019 they decided to change it up, and the only part changed was that last line. The lyrics, how it was sung and how it was staged. And the changes, they involved only those two - JM and JK.
youtube
At the end, just before the last line that is changed from âand I still want youâ to âbut I still want youâ JM still has his back to JK. And then, while singing, together, âbut I still want youâ, he turns and they both not only facing each other but looking at each other as they finish the song.
Changing it to "but I still want you" turning to each other, looking into each other's eyes is loud and huge and I think that if you read the song lyrics, if you see the meaning behind the song you will understand why "but I still want you" is so meaningful.
ââŠYou know that I canât Show you me Give you me I canât show you a ruined part of myself Once again I put a mask on and go to see you But I still want youâŠ
I wanted to give it to you After I take off this foolish maskâŠ
But I know I canât do that forever I have to hide Because Iâm a monsterâŠ
I am afraid I am shattered Iâm so afraid That you will leave me again in the end Once again I put on a mask and go to see youâŠ
The only thing I can do In the garden In this world Is to bloom a pretty flower that resembles you And to breathe as the me that you know But I still want you I still want youâŠ
If I had the courage to stand before you Would everything be different nowâŠ
And I still want you But I still want you But I still want you And I still want youâ
There is so much about this song that makes me sad, especially thinking of the impact it has on anyone that feels they need to hide their true selves from others, from society, from their fandom. It's JM, JK or any other member of the LGBTQ+ community that feels they would be perceived as a monster if they show their true self.
The song is about wanting someone but the fear of exposing yourself to them, maybe they won't accept you.
Ending the song with âand I still want youâ is, in a way, accepting things as they are...things are the way they are, and yet, I still want you. Hence JM with his back turned to JK, resigned to things as they are - I want you, I have to hide my true self...
But then ending the song with âbut I still want youâ it has a boldness to it. Not accepting things as they are, wanting them to change, in a way fighting for them to change.
Itâs an ending to the song with a sense of defiance. Like a child being told by a parent they arenât allowed something, and try to argue âbut I want toâŠâ, not accepting the no, not accepting society telling them they are âwrongâ.
Thatâs my take from it.
And them turning to each other, looking at each other when BOTH of them are singing that line - looking at each other and singing âbut I still want YOUâ, well to me that was a big WOW moment.
We need to remember, ALL the time, these are two young men in a supposed closeted queer relationship, living and working in a mostly homophobic society. But not only their society is homophobic. A big part of their fandom is too, and they are well aware of it. They are aware of the fact that there will be army that would not accept them for their true selves, not love them if they took off that mask they are wearing and showed themselves for who they truly are. And they want to. They want to take off that mask. They want to be true to themselves, be able to act naturally, not to hide not only who they are but also who they love. But they also want, need, Armyâs love, and there is a great fear of losing that love if they do take off that mask they are wearing. And thatâs a daily struggle for both of them.
So, they kind of live in a push and pull reality. Pushing the boundaries time and time again, sending these hints/messages to us, sometimes small, sometimes huge (hickey-gate for instance), for us to decifer. They want us to know, they want to be true to themselves, they want to be able to shout to the world theyâre in love and who with. They canât say it out loud, so this is their way of doing it. If you understand, then you understand. If you donât or choose to ignore, so be it. itâs also a way of testing the water, trying to see if they are supported, if the fandom would accept them for who they are. And sadly, although there is a hell of a lot of support out there, there is a very big part of the fandom that still doesnât and wonât accept them for who they are, who they love. They know they are loved and supported by many, but they also know there are many that would not accept them, not for who they truly are and not for who they love.
And on that sad note I send, once again, my love and support to JK and JM. We need to constantly show them, let them know, that they ARE seen and loved and supported, as individuals and as a couple.

The Truth Untold LY Seoul final concerts
Not first (by a long run) nor last time I will post about this.
This will forever more be one of my favourite moments when it comes to the two of them.
Not the first nor last time I will talk about this moment.
Such a small gesture and yet so very loud.
This tiny change, unnoticeable to some (or dare I say most), to the lyrics and staging.
No biggie changing the end lyrics from "and I still want you" to "but I still want you".
No biggie going from only JM singing that final line in the song to both JM and JK singing it.
No biggie changing the staging from JM ALWAYS (in every single previous performance of this song during the LY tour) with his back towards JK, now both turning towards each other while singing that last line of the song.
No biggie the two of them going from looking down to gazing into each other's eyes while singing those lyrics, their eyes meeting as they reach the last word: YOU...
No biggie, right?
WRONG!!!
Definitely biggie.
Such minute changes with such a HUGE message to those who are only willing to listen to it!!!
I love those two and I miss them so friggin much.
đđ
As a public service (wink wink) I'm adding a few links to previous posts of mine on the matter and to the masterlist for the LY Seoul final concerts as well.

Jikook - The Fan Service Professionals
These two are such pros when it comes to fan service, they even practice behind the scenes. Dedication with a capital D! Even during the height of Covid, when there were no performances on the horizon, they were diligently keeping up the charade.
The newly released Bangtan Bomb of the BE Skit recording is a great example...
It is 2020, JK's birthday, and the Billboard #1 win for Dynamite has just been announced. Five of the guys file into a recording studio and sit down. Namjoon leaves an obvious gap next to Jimin.
JK arrives a few minutes later and takes his place... next to Jimin.
The group discusses the fact that the Billboard win was announced on JK's birthday and that he clearly needs no more gifts. What happens next is interesting...
JK tells them he received the best gift of his life and Jimin speaks for the first time since JK entered the room, jumping in to say "We're recording Skit, right?"
I've never seen anyone change the subject with such haste as this. In fact i might go so far as to say the way Jimin interrupted was ...almost rude! (But not really rude, because.. .he's Jimin)
But I digress...
The producer tells Jimin they're already recording and Jimin glances furtively at the microphone to confirm. Yes, the red light is on, it is indeed recording.
He laughs and slaps his thigh. Something must be really funny because he continues to laugh behind his hand, which is SUCH a tell for when he's embarrassed.
Long after everyone else has moved on, Jimin is still smiling to himself.
Maybe it's because JK just announced to the world that he got the best birthday gift OF HIS LIFE.
But he didn't specify what it was. He didn't say it was the Billboard win. And it looks like that birthday gift went on all night because the boy is clearly exhausted.
Anyway, moving on...
They start practicing their "fan service routine" at this point:
Without a word being exchanged between them, Jimin stands up and gives JK space to change his position. He then sits down next to JK and adopts the exact same position, with folded legs. Tick the box for mirroring behaviour
The next part of routine is connecting through touch - you know - how genuine couples touch each other as a way of checking in? Yeah like that. (Somehow I see caressing a person with your knuckles as more intimate than using your palm, but maybe that's just me)
And then there's a different type of touch - that body contact that comes with intimacy and familiarity. When you're a new couple this type of thigh touch can be very titilating but when you've been together for a while it's more comforting than sexy (although there's definitely an element of sexy too). At this point they are barely interacting, aside from Jimin's arm draped over JK's thigh and his fingers resting casually on JK's shin like it's his own personal armrest... he's certainly covering all the bases on that leg.

uuummm... okay, well played Jikook...
10/10 fan service here I guess.
Anything else that might have happened in this 'practice session' was lost on the cutting room floor, but one thing is for certain... neither Jimin nor JK got a wink of sleep on the night of JK's birthday.
Some may say it's because of the BB #1 win but I don't see any of the other guys in such a state of disarray as these two.
One thing that is obvious though:
Whatever the two of them were celebrating, they went at it all night long.

when i was watching the clip you just posted something came to mind. you know how in videos jikook are always shaking hands or something as if they're greeting each other? i realized they do it ALOT and like multiple times in one day/video, and i started wondering if ive ever seen either of them do that with the other members and i cant think of many if any specifc instances đ i wonder why they do that
Hello anon!
Thatâs their thing. Their habit. I donât think thereâs someone on this planet who claims to know Jikook and doesnât know theyâre professional awkward hand shakers. I just canât explain how significant it is through words only, so Iâll help myself with some clips.
Firstly, anon is talking about the video I uploaded at the end of this post so we already got an example there. If you watch that live (donât do it if youâre fragile lately) youâll see it happened between the âsnoringâ and âMMAâ moments. Jimin said he got used to Jungkookâs snoring since they spent some days together, took Jungkookâs hand, and then they laughed about Namjoonâs elbowing joke.
During that live, just to mention it all so we can move on, they shook their hands another time as well, which is very very sweet to me, maybe more than the one we already talked about, and Iâd like to bring it up. It happened during the very first minutes, when Tae kindly said theyâre all gonna value each other more after spending so much time apart. Jungkook replied he was already feeling how precious they all are basically intending he doesnât need separation (which we know he hates profoundly) to recognize people who matter in his life. I think both povs are valid since Tae was speaking from a positive, kind of nurturing perspective, while Jungkook could not see that as a good side of the dynamic at all and just expressed his disagreement⊠but nobody asked for my opinion đźâđš

This moment is so funny because of Taeâs faces (he was purely joking, ofc) but also because everyone kinda ignored Jungkookâs words to the point he moved forward himself, changing the topic of the conversation. But Jimin clearly wanted to show support and care towards that genuine comment Jk had just made, even if they had all moved on.
This live overall was really, really touching to me. I perfectly remember that day since I coincidentally happened to be at home and it was maybe one of the few times for me as an Army being able to watch a Bangtan live in real time. Reading the subtitles later helped me understand the guys themselves had already felt the gloomy and down vibe of the livestream, but seeing them interact with each other and naturally try their best to bring it up was amazing. They just spontaneously get along and flow from seriousness to goofiness and as Taekook said, theyâll get closer because thatâs always possible in human relationships, but they also already know how much the others matter to each one of them and theyâre already so so close. Does that make sense?
As for Jikook, it touched me because you could really see this âgetting closer even after 10+ yearsâ concept Iâm talking about. You could really see they have been sharing everything, expecially these harsh and hard to process feelings caused by the enlistment. That last trip they had helped for sure, but it was not the main motive to me. They looked so touchy and lovely and close because theyâve been by the otherâs side during yet another shifting time, one of those life moments that test you and change you, and that brought them to a new and even deeper level of intimacy.
It was lovely to see how Jungkook couldnât keep his body and hands to himself, the way he was clearly looking for connection, closeness, whether it was by massaging Jiminâs neck, slightly slapping it to play around, or laying on his belly and caressing him, telling him to eat or speak up.
You wonder why they do it, anon, I mean the shaking hands and all. And Iâll tell you why they do it, for me, and thatâs the hill Iâm dying on: itâs a middle way. Not much to add to that (last FAMOUS honeymoon words). Itâs something polite they do when they want to show the other approval, affection, vicinity, but they canât do it explicitly. A very telling moment was the one from Jiminâs practice, when Jungkook visited him. Watch it before reading my opinion so you wonât be influenced in any way.
I know everyone was really happy to see them interacting at the time, and of course I was too. But something felt weird and almost âunnaturalâ and now I understand why. Now that we know they were the closest theyâve ever been, being apart due to schedules, probably already thinking of trips/buddy system and basically building up everything that led them to need each other so much, I see why that video feels weird: it was forced. Forced aloofness.
And it happened so many times, Iâm gonna mention other hands shaking moments that feel quite strange. But this one really stands out. The first time their hands touch, Jimin was on the floor and held Jungkookâs hand, stood up and asked him to come see him again. JK says ânoâ and Iâve got my theory on that too since, as I said above, weâre talking about a moment when they were clearly close. Why the hell wouldnât he want to see the man heâs always missing, needing and talking about? But that would be yet another digression so letâs not. If anyone wants to talk about it weâll do it in another context.

The second time, theyâre both standing up, the door is on the other way but for some reason Jungkook moved on Jiminâs right and made the closest hand to him free, holding the cup with the other now.

Jimin tells him, two times: âcome by more oftenâ, and then âcome by again soonâ. A different Jimin from the contained and reserved one we saw on lives, weverse and everything. Then they just stare at each other.

Here I see Jimin really holding back something. Iâm not just talking about a closer physical contact, but also about words, feelings. It feels like repeating that âcome by more oftenâ had a real meaning to him that he had to convey in the most professional and unsuspicious way possible. I think he was really missing some more quality time with JK.
Jungkook on the other hand looks really awkward. He really doesnât know what to do with himself, literally, moves his body left and right, was even gonna go the wrong direction but finally finds the courage to walk away and say bye. He looks down, at Jimin, at the camera, heâs hesitant and detached, and Iâm pointing it out despite Jungkook never being the one who runs towards people and picks them up, screaming and crying and all of that.
Thatâs what I mean with âmiddle wayâ. Itâs the compromise to handle uncomfortable situations, the ones where they got a camera right under their noses, filming them during the âgreetingâ moments which I think matter a lot to them. Iâve always looked at Jikook as an affectionate couple so I think they really love to say hi and bye with hugs and closeness. Those pats on the back and shoulders hitting do not sit right with me at all.
Itâs the middle way between feeling uncomfortable with having to hold things back, acting like buddies when they were probably screaming out of joy for being able to see each other, and wanting to hug and hold hands and hug again without all those eyes around and on them. Looking at Jiminâs expressions and the way he looks at Jungkook while heâs leaving something in my chest MOVES. Anyway take that with a grain of salt and tell me your views as well. This is just me.
Another shaking/holding hands moment I remember but that was actually easier to watch is from their cooking live. They held hands for 15 SECONDS LMAO theyâre really cooked

You can still see they were shy and awkward but thatâs just when you put them in the same room. 100 times worse if a camera is on staff is there people are watching. Itâs just the biggest paradox since theyâre really each otherâs soulmates tied by unconditional love but they act like they just share a desk in a 9 to 5 office and it says it all. Itâs so unreal and unlikely that they just lead you to believe itâs all made up to protect and hold something more and deeper.
And then they do it during practice, they look at each other blushing and giggling on stages, they use this âshaking handsâ thing to actually hold each otherâs palms, and they just stay there, until one of them moves, someone moves them, or they understand itâs getting strange.
They look for each otherâs hands during group hugs, play with each otherâs fingers, their hands are just always always close. We saw Jungkook moving his hands from Jiminâs when he noticed a camera recording, Jiminâs birthday live where he was a giggling mess of happiness basically looking for that hand shake every SECOND, teasing Jungkook and feeling shy shy shy RED IN THE FACE shy at the thought of him arriving.

Itâs just beautiful to see the way they do it to show support, to play around like two best friends and buddies, to feel a little bit closer in public contexts, and also to communicate without words. I love seeing the way they can still feel a little bit positively overwhelmed or hit by the otherâs presence to the point they donât know how to handle it, even after all this time. All these years.
Could add a lot more anon but I donât think you were looking for such a long ass answer, so thank you so much for your askđ. Iâm already worried about being way way too chatty and talkative. In the end YES they often do it and itâs a cute habit overall but that rehearsalâs time will always feel differently to me and it will always make me pout a bit.

Jungkook's adorable gesture upon waking up was to fetch a big chunk of snow to gift to Jimin, showing his sweet affection. When Jimin waved at him upon waking, Jungkook excitedly exclaimed, â I went all the way up and got some snowâ more likeâŠ."Look what I got for you, babeâa snowball!" It was such a precious moment, highlighting how Jimin is truly treated like a princess by his loving boyfriend. Now, I'm absolutely giddy thinking about the upcoming Jikook travel show and all the cute things these two boyfriends have done together.
