Letting Go.
A small zine created for the love and anguish I have been feeling recently. I love you so, but I wish I didn't. Only because I wish to keep you in my life without pain. I miss you. I hope you're well.
(sheets of cut up paper collaged on images I designed are not my words)

Cuande Se Muere Amor | When Love Dies
A publication created based on the horrible heartbreak of loving and losing female friends. Based off of my own friendship heartbreak and including phrases and lines directly from the reading as well as images and things she liked as we’ve been friends.
+ + + +
Water soluble paper and binding thread | the publication will be submerged in water leading to inevitable dissolving at the end of presentation to show the physical disappearance of a friendship to go along side the metaphorical representation of the friendship ending.

Final Demo!!!
Recap: Our team’s final demo was on Tuesday and it was pretty amazing to see everyone’s projects and prototypes they had come up with come to life. It was really cool being able to present our semester projects in front of David and to have him react and ask questions to engage with us.
I enjoyed working with the seniors as well and their ideas truly helped out team out when we had a problem or when we felt a bit short on what to do! I was really proud with how each of the members, Meghan, Eliza, and Allie, each talked about the section they were assigned and how we were able to make it a bit longer than 10 minutes. I hope we are able to work more with RVA Community Fridges in the future and I hope they continue to reach out to us if they need any help whatsoever.
It is a bit bittersweet saying goodbye to a project we have been working on for so long and I’m sure I will keep working on designs and posters just to put up around the city because it is really amazing how ch help we can contribute remotely and just by spreading the word. I especially enjoyed the prototype designs that Allie had come up with that showed what using the stickers on packaging would look like.

Next Time: Considering this is the last demo I don’t think there will be much to talk about on this section, but I really do hope that someone wants to do something similar in the next Multi Studio class, that way we can maybe help them out and give them pointers for how we did it!
I will also try and keep the miro board because of how much I love looking at it, it’s really nice to see our progress over the semester and how our ideas and exchanges between each other broadened through these past few weeks!

Reflections: The biggest takeaway I have from this project this semester and this last demo is in order to properly succeed you have to be in constant communication. It really is hard not having everyone respond to the emails we send out or to have someone not show up to a zoom meeting more than once. Constant communication is really vital for this type of project, especially when it’s all remote!
I also realized that teamwork and team based projects aren’t as bad as they seem from the beginning. I am not the biggest fan of team based projects mainly because I feel more comfortable when I am able to choose what I want to do without sharing my ideas and thoughts, but I really think my groups was amazing this semester. We were all on the same page and we always kept each other in the loop. I had a great time presenting each demo with them.
The semesters project on Food Insecurity in Richmond really opened my eyes on the problems that a lot of people in the city face and how not much is being done to help them. I wish we were able to do so much more and I am very glad and grateful for places and organizations like RVA community fridges, they are a huge help to these people and I know they’ll only do more good in the future.

Sprint Recap:
This past sprint was a bit of a repetition of the last one. We had came up with an Instagram account that we were previously thinking about doing and we were posting on it and trying to gain traction! We had made it a business account so we can see the interactions we get and the amount of people we reach.
We’d love to see how many people we’re helping while we spread information about this important topic. Also, last sprint we got an email from one of the people at RVA Fridges and we are deciding to work on posters and stickers for them.

Next Sprint:
With that in mind we are working on emailing the woman we are in contact with, Taylor, and showing her our designs before the next sprint. We are each designing a poster and sticker and will present it to her so she can choose and decide what she wants us to print out.
We want to be able to have our posters and stickers up for the final sprint so we can document our work to present to the class.

Reflections:
We want to try and lengthen our presentations for the last two and we want to have decent designs that Taylor would enjoy being around the city. We are gonna spend a lot of time thinking of the proper color schemes and fonts to use for each design and sticker. As well as update our miro board throughout the process!
