i went to a theater to go to a showing of It's A Wonderful Life and before they started the film they asked if it was anyone's first time watching.

that shits like infinately worse than the abject humiliation of first time rocky horror picture show watching. Like yeah you aren't dragged up on stage, but everyone in that goddamn theater is going to keep an ear out for you sobbing at the end of that shit

The song ‘Everything In You’ (Simon and Betty’s song) sounds like it gets cut off after the first chorus, and I really worry (read: hope but it’ll crush my heart) they’re gonna pull a ‘come along with me’ and that they’ll give us the whole song at the finale and it’ll act as a thesis statement for the show’s themes.

The line “And maybe this is killing part of me/But it ain’t called love without a little tragedy” is telling me that even though Betty and Simon had co-dependency issues, they really did love the time they spent together, even if it was ultimately at the cost of their egos. Very much a ‘Is it better to have loved and lost’ scenario rather than a ‘wish i never met you’

I feel like Vampire World Martin tells us that he’s a product of nurture rather than nature - especially in relation to our original Martin (Prime? lmk if we decided on terms yet)

Across the different universes, peoples’ personalities always stay the same. Every PB tends to have their perfectionist tendencies, Finn(s) always have a well-intentioned heart, etc.

The Martin we see in Vamp world does have some of the same aspects as our own: the gift of gab, a cockroach-esque tenacity/cunning that lets him survive the apocalypse, and a fascination with the unique (‘Gadget Enthusiast’ in Ooo becomes ‘munitions expert in vamp world)

But in vamp world, when he sees baby Finn, he instantly falls in love - the same way he did in Ooo when we first see baby Finn, and it’s not until the guardian incident that his attitude changes.

I write this because I see a lot of people saying Martin was always a bad person because on Founders’ Island he was a grifter, and that he’d always end up abandoning Finn, but the multiverse shows us this is an Ooo-specific fluke with our Martin.

(Also because it’s the episode about how much of an effect Simon’s kindness and gentleness had on Marcy’s upbringing)

The most recent two episodes of Fionna and Cake are really good, but they have that 'airplane runway' feeling to it. I felt it a lot when I was watching the last season of Better Call Saul, where there were episodes that I absolutely loved but don't really remember them quite as fondly because the next two episodes were like rock hard bangers.

Like Black and Blue in season 6 of bcs - That's a wonderful episode, but then you look at the episodes after that??? like hoooly shit, and the that episode always slips my mind only because it was before the fucking awesomeness of those last few episodes

This is in no way a 'i thought they weren't amazing' way, this is a 'using this graph i think the last two are gonna absolutely blow our tits off' way

I always figured she was biracial, like DnD Half Elf biracial, so I guess i always thought de-magic-ified Marshall Lee would be like, human biracial, and because the gender swap would be in place, hana abadeer would have been white bc the father would be black.

i guess i always pictured hunson abadeer as white if he were a human, mainly because he does look so much like a human and has that pale bluish skin. i thought he was white-coded? is that a thing?

The Lemoncarbs act exactly as the Lemongrabs do - they were just genderswapped, and all their fantastical elements became mundane. They were landed gentry (fantasy) but now they're social elite (mundane), instead of lemon-peel skin, they have pale skin and blonde hair. In general, instead of characters being their usual, comically evil selves, they are simply rich (mundane evil)

Hana Abadeer, Hunson Abadeer's alternate version, maintains that. She fulfils the same roles as Hunson did - but fantastical elements still needed to be filed down. So instead of lord of hells, she's a landlord, right?

But here's the thing - that means somehow, instead of her race being 'demon,' the mundane version of that is black????????

So, I'm like 50% sure that we saw Fionna-world Martin this episode.

At first because one of the unnamed "investors" (Fionna-world Villains of Ooo) at the Abadeer Blood Drive, had the same VA as Martin (Stephen Root), and they also shared that sort of blob-shaped character design.

But then I realized that in this world, instead of a fast-talking interstellar scampish conman, he gets to be a HIGH-POWERED ATTORNEY

(I know it probably isn't though because Martin would be Martina[?], but who knows)
