The world lost one of the strongest, most inspiring people that I know today. He was the epitome of a gentleman and never missed a chance to advocate or share why ALS sucks. The holidays can be extra hard for people that don't have their loved ones. Don't forget to remind others why you are thankful to have them in your life.

Just over a year ago, I started working for the American Heart Association. I was ready to make a difference in support of my loved ones suffering from heart disease. I've learned so much in just a short amount of time. Today, I was able to give back to local students as I guided them through Hands Only CPR, research exhibit halls and a panel discussion at the largest cardiac conference in the world, Scientific Sessions. Before the day started, I had a full circle moment with a teacher from high school. We reminisced and she told me that she loved seeing how I was able to hone my passions in high school into a career with the AHA. I hope the students we taught today have a moment like that in the future. I hope they were inspired by being able to touch a preserved human heart and learning that their habits are so unhealthy that their generation probably won't outlive their parents. Weekends spent celebrating are always the best: Ryan's birthday; two speech wins; LSU victory; Dave Chapelle hosting SNL and hopefully a Saints is to come. The most important celebration of the weekend was the engagement party for two of the best people I know. I'm honored to be a part of #TheseMagicMoMentz with Caila and Michael.
