Favorite Sport

All of us have different favorite sports. Some of these are baseball, basketball, badminton and softball. Many of us watch these sports on TV, while others buy tickets to watch the live match. My favorite sport is badminton. I don’t watch this game on TV but I often play this sport with my brother, sometimes, with my friends. Badminton began as a leisurely backyard sport and evolved to competitive sport ranging to Olympic levels. Badminton requires many qualities from the shutter, speed, strength, alertness, endurance, skills, correctness, smartness, mental power and teamwork .Exceptional skills and physical fitness and strength is not enough to win a badminton game; Using quick thinking to familiarize yourself with his or her playing strategy, using different speed, positions, and plays are just some of the keys to becoming a great badminton player.
When it’s my first time playing badminton, I’ve encountered many mistakes. When I hit the shuttlecock with my racket, I would throw the racket and it would fly over with the shuttlecock. Sometimes, I’ll hit my brother’s face with the shuttlecock. Those are some of my mistakes. At first, I thought that that this sport was not for me, but I know that “Practice makes perfect”. So, I’ve practiced many times until I know how to play it. And that made badminton as my favorite sport.
So, if you want to try to play a game/sport, try first playing badminton, it’s quite enjoyable.

A Place That Is Worth Visiting In Sorsogon
One of my favorite places here in Sorsogon is in “Residencia Del Hamor”, located in Casiguran, Sorsogon. I’ve heard that it instantly attracted a number of travellers. My family got curious about it so we planned to go there.

When we entered there, it was very stunning! It was very spacious and carefully landscaped. We also had our first view of the swimming pool and the villas, it was so picturesque and so breathtaking. It gives you a feeling of exclusivity, privacy and relaxation, a haven for those looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We had our lunch there ( because you can’t bring your meals inside) and it was very delicious.

In the place, aside from the villas, pools and the dining/lounge area, there’s also a river trail in there. The resort is located at the water source itself, which is why there are rivers and streams nearby. This river trail allows you to walk on a wooden bridge beside the river. The trail is not difficult. In fact, it’s an easy walk. The view of the river is amazing.

After that, my father paid for our food, our entrance fee, etc. It’s expensive but I realized that it’s all worth it. So, if you’ll visit Sorsogon, don’t forget to stop over in Residencia Del Hamor.

KASANGGAYAHAN FESTIVAL

Every province here in the Philippines has their own traditions that are influenced by nearby provinces or the ones who colonized the province. Many of the festivals here in my hometown, Sorsogon City, are from Christian religious traditions. One of these is the Kasanggayahan Festival. Kasanggayahan Festival is celebrated during the month of October every year. This festival is the commemoration of the declaration of Sorsogon as a province and also its separation from Albay, which is another province in the region. Kasanggayahan means “prosperity” and usually showcases pilinut products and other local products. In Kasanggayahan Festival, there’s always a street dance or called “Pantomina sa Tinampo”. This is a native regional dance, which makes it different from the other festivals. This dance of love and courtship (Pantomina) was done on streets (Tinampo), so it was termed, “Pantomina sa Tinampo”.

When we hear the word “sem break”, well of course, the first thing that comes into our mind would be no doing of assignments/ other tasks in school, relaxing, movie marathon, and other enjoyable stuffs. Usually, this break lasts for a week or more than a week. This is the most favorite part of students, well, who wouldn’t? I thought that this sem break in this school year would be more fun than the past years. But it’s the opposite of what I’d expected.

Instead of relaxing, all we did in this break is to accomplish the tasks and outputs given to us. We often go to our classmates’ house to practice for a role play, or to discuss/ make group projects. Aside from that, we have to review our notes for the periodic examinations when we come back in November 2. I think that’s not what you call just “break”, but a “toilsome” break.

Foods... Foods... Foods
Stressed out. Many tasks to accomplish. Don’t have enough time to rest. Those are some negative things I encounter, considering that I belong to STEM Curriculum. Even though I have an awful day or I’m in a bad mood, I’d always crave for food. Well, there are several fast food chains here in the city. My favorite fast food chain would be “Jollibee”. It has several branches here in Philippines, and in the other countries, rather.
R E L A X I N G I N T E R I O R S:
It boasts of newly designed interiors that make it even more attractive. With roomy spaces, bright accents, awesome wall art and stylish glass walls that let the light in. Jollibee gives off that ultra- modern NY lounge vibe that’s a hit with today’s families/ customers.
L A N G H A P - S A R A P
There’s nothing harder than resisting that tasty and crispy fried chicken once it’s in front of you. The same is true for another long-time crowd favorite, the Jolly Spaghetti. While not the kind of pasta served in Italy, it ticks off all the items on the ultimate Pinoy Spaghetti checklist: hotdogs, thick sauce, and the perfect balance between savory and sweet.

Hi everyone, me again! Just don’t mind me hahaha. So when I said any random thing that pops in my head, I mean it. I’ve been writing poems about a year now (well mostly during the summer), so I think of sharing one to you (whoever reads this).
THAT PAPER PLANE
I made a paper plane,
After the rain stopped.
Wondering if it can,
Fly like a free bird.
This paper plane,
Carried something special with it.
But I wondered if,
It can reach its fate.
It was never easy to fly.
It was never easy to be free.
But I know this paper plane will,
And will let the wind carry it to someplace else.
It was ready,
Ready to take flight,
But a storm came in,
And ruined everything.
I didn’t have the courage to start all over again.
It was never that easy to forget.
I was ready to let go,
But then it happened, it ruined everything.
I know it’s easy,
Super easy to make the plane again,
But the spirit I had in the first flight,
Can’t be returned.
But suddenly, a paper flew near me,
I printed a grin,
I found myself writing again.
And seconds later,
My hands held an airplane, same as I had before.
I was scared now,
If it will happen again.
And that fright stayed.
It ended up clipped on this page.
It made me wonder,
It’s not going to do anything.
Just like same old paper planes,
Made by kids for fun.
It never really changed anything,
It never flew like an eagle soaring high.
I just turned it to something it’s not.
Seasons changed and years already passed.
But until now I still think,
That someday that paper plane will fly,
And send my thoughts to the sky.
I don’t know what inspired me to write this piece. It’s some kind of different from the ones I write because it’s mostly about love. But seriously, the message of this poem is, take every chance you can, for the better. Forget about the risk of life, forget about the risk of looking stupid. You just got to take the chance, when you have it. Never be afraid to try, EVER. If you made mistakes, so be it, so what? The only thing that matters is, you stood up, correct it, then start again.

Do you find difficulty in maintaining/ getting high grades? Well, it’s more difficult if you belong in the STEM curriculum. In order for you to maintain being a DOST/STEM student, I have here some tips to survive in the STEM curriculum:
10 TIPS TO SURVIVE THE STEM CURRICULUM:
1. Be organized. You must be organized so that you don’t waste your time when you’re studying. You must be organized so that you know what task should be done first, and when your teacher asks you the compilation of the activities they gave you, you don’t have a problem because your tasks/ activities are organized.
2. Eat a nutritious breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So make sure that you eat a nutritious breakfast so that you can think/move well.
3. Get enough sleep. Sleep at least 8-10 hours. Because if you didn’t sleep well, your brain and your body can’t function well.
4. Remove all distractions while studying. When you think that you can’t focus on your studies, because you’re distracted, remove those. Some ways are turning off the television or not using your gadgets while studying. So that you have more focus on your studies, study in the room that’s away from your family, because sometimes your family, especially your siblings, are making noise.
5. Study with a friend or a parent that is good at that subject. Don’t always depend on your teacher. Your friend or your parent might understand the subject more than you.
6. Get help. When you don’t understand the topic that you’ve discussed, ask your classmate, or your friend, and others who are good at that subject. Approaching them is such a great help, for you to understand more on that topic.
7. Prioritize your studies. We often join in extra- curricular activities, but keep in mind that you have to limit in joining those activities. Because sometimes you prioritize extra-curricular activities, you forgot you study for the exam, that’s why you get a low mark.
8. Finish all of your tasks at least a day before its due date. Don’t make your tasks on the day of submission. Because if you did it before the due date, you’ll pass it to your teacher neat and presentable.
9. Use your time wisely. Always know how to manage your time. Because if you don’t manage your time, you might not pass/ do your tasks in time. Always make a schedule, like for example, 15 minutes for Math, 15 minutes for Science, etc.
10. Don’t give up. If you get a low mark, then don’t give up. It doesn’t mean that you’ve got a low grade, you can’t do something to make it higher. So that you can improve your grade, first, believe in yourself that you can do it. To make your grade higher, get help from a classmate, friend or a parent. Or, you can attend a tutorial class/ hire a tutor so that you can understand the material more.
HOPE THESE TIPS HELP YOU!!

It is a very clever domestic animal and has been proved very useful in catching thieves and criminals. It guards the house of owner very watchfully from thieves 24 hours a day. It is very friendly however become very dangerous whenever goes mad. They perform their duties very faithfully that’s why liked so much by man. They perform their duties very well that’s why they are used as fire dogs, police dogs, assistance dogs, army dogs, hunting dogs, messenger dogs, rescue dogs, herding dogs, etc.
In some families, a dog is treated as a dear pet and regarded as one of the family members. Just like our family, we also have a pet dog. I named it Maxx. He is a black and brown-colored dog. Maxx is very special to me because I treat him as my best friend. When I’m lonely, I would play with him and lick my cheek. Every time when I come back from school, it will run out quickly to welcome me. it will jump onto my arm and lick my cheek. He was also a very worthy safety guard in our house. I remembered when he saved us from those street children. Our house is near from their house. That night, we are all asleep, and those street children tend to climb over our gate. I think they saw something in our yard or in our garage that fascinated them and thought to be expensive. But, they cannot climb over our gate, because Maxx barked at them, that’s why those thieves are scared and cannot steal that thing. Special thanks to our dog, without him, probably, our house would get robbed. I am very happy to have a pet dog like Maxx. I believe that caring for animals is important. So, I promised that I will take good care of Maxx. If you don’t have a pet dog yet, buy a dog. Why? Because they will be always there for you, always perform his duties faithfully, and never ever cheat on you.
