To whom it may concern 💔💔
I write to you today with a heavy heart to share the suffering of my children during our journey of displacement. We once lived a simple life, filled with love and security, before harsh circumstances forced us to leave our home in search of temporary refuge. My children, who used to play and laugh in the alleys of our neighborhood, now find themselves surrounded by fear and cold in places that lack the warmth of a true home.😞😞
Nothing breaks a parent’s heart more than seeing their children look up with innocent eyes, questioning why they must endure such hardship. Every day, we strive to keep the flame of hope alive in their small hearts, telling them stories of courage and resilience in the hope that it restores a fragment of the peace they once knew.😞😞
I urge everyone to extend a helping hand to children who still dream of normalcy and days where they can play without fear and sleep without worry. Let us all work together to give them back their stolen childhood and put smiles back on their faces.🌹🌹
Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in the life of a child waiting for hope in the eyes of those who care.❤️❤️

Falling for scams does hurt people, actually
TW: Human trafficking, SA, torture, discussion of scam farms
I see a whole bunch of people arguing that they would rather risk giving to a scammer than ignore someone's gofundme. I also see people saying things like "I can't believe some sick people are profiteering off genocide" and like, me neither, but I feel like you guys really don't understand who actually runs these kinds of scams and what they are.
Scams of noticeable scale-- like scam asks being sent from hundreds of accounts to every user on Tumblr!-- are typically related to organised crime in poor countries, not Susan from Milwaukee who wants a new coat and has no scruples. People get trafficked by gangs to scam farms in Asia and Africa where they're worked to the bone and tortured trying to get idiots in wealthy countries to part with their money. Genocide profiteering is pretty much the least evil thing these people do.
Here's a UN article on it. Obvious warnings for content related to human trafficking and SA.
When you donate to a scammer, you fund these organisations and give them a reason to exist. It's possible some of the fundraisers are legit. I honestly find it unlikely given I'm not seeing any from any other countries where urgent fundraisers would seem to have great reason to exist but which haven't captured the same level of attention on Tumblr-- the number of Sudanese, Congolese, Ukrainian, Burmese or Uyghur fundraisers in my DMs is a fat 0. In any case, there are safer ways to help.
If you want to help (which is great!) you don't have to take the risk of paying for human trafficking. Donate to legitimate charities which have the resources to safely and effectively ensure the money and help is getting to the right people. Funding human trafficking rings in Myanmar is not a good risk to be taking while trying to help.

thank you for telling me about the scam. I can't believe people are really sick enough to try and capitalize on a fucking ethnic cleansing.
I think that somebody on Tumblr has been looking into it and suspects that all of the scam accounts are tied to the same person. I'm not 100% sure about the details, but considering how easy it probably is to buy accounts, I wouldn't be surprised.
The worst part about it to me is not only that this is a flagrant attempt to steal funding that would go to actual Palestinians in need, but also that it propagates doubt about which donations on Tumblr are actually honest and true. It's especially vindictive because at least some of the scripts and accounts literally steal from genuine fundraisers.
It's also frustrating how much I've seen the same scams on the #free palestine tag over the past two days alone. It really does bloat the tag and make it difficult to find any updates or insight.
If you do end up falling for this scam, it isn't your fault. You care a lot, and that's exactly what these accounts are taking advantage of. Whoever is doing this is a morally bankrupt individual who is exploiting your good will and desire to help.
Remember the signs:
Sending asks to people asking for donations
New account whose earliest post was within the last few days
Other accounts that share the same format as each other
Multiple accounts that share the same story
Pinned post is identical to pinned posts on other scam accounts
Remember that you can try to google the script and see if you can find any other accounts that asked the same thing. I'm not sure how well that works anymore because I just... recognize it as someone who's seen these scams for years at this point.
Be sure to ensure that donation posts you reblogged have been approved by actual Palestinians. If you don't feel comfortable risking reblogging individual donation posts, it's always a safe bet to reblog donations for charities and organizations who have proven to help Palestine, like Care For Gaza.
Stay safe. Be vigilant.
