Chloe smiled warmly at Lucy's words, feeling a rush of affection for her wife. "Hey, bandages on teddy bears and bringing new life into the world are both incredibly important jobs," she reassured Lucy, admiration shining in her eyes. "Besides, I've seen the way the parents light up when you walk into the room. You're like a superhero to them."
She squeezed Lucy's hand gently as they approached the maternity wing, feeling grateful for her presence. "I always know you've got my back, no matter what," she replied softly, her heart swelling with love. Stepping into the wing, she glanced around at the rows of tiny bassinets, feeling a surge of emotion. "Pick my baby, huh?" she teased, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "That's a tough choice." She followed Lucy further into the room, her heart full of love and gratitude for the life they'd built together. @drlucyedwards
Lucy had spent quite a whole convincing herself that Chloe wasn't the one for her, but in reality she'd known it almost straight away, they'd always managed to have peace in the quiet. Previously Lucy had never been good with quiet, it made her anxious, she felt the need to fill it with noise. "I do not know how it goes, you are a super ER surgeon, I put bandages on teddy bears and birth babies," she smiled. Lucy loved her job and wouldn't trade it for anything, but she also admired her wife's profession, it was fast paced and exhausting and she could never do it. "Even if I'm not here, you know I'm only a phone call away." She reached the door to the maternity wing and pushed it open, holding it for Chloe. "Pick your baby," she smirked, greeting the nurse who was checking on the babies.

Chloe chuckled at Thea's observation about the perpetually long line, nodding in agreement. "You're absolutely right, it's like a morning ritual for half the town," she remarked, a wry smile playing on her lips. "But you're onto something with the magic coffee theory. There's gotta be something special in those beans."
As Thea offered to buy her breakfast, Chloe's expression softened with gratitude. "You're too kind, really," she replied, touched by the gesture. "I wouldn't say no to a little extra brightness in my day." She glanced at the menu board, scanning the options briefly before deciding. "How about a blueberry muffin? Those always put a smile on my face." She stepped up in line beside Thea, feeling grateful for her friend's company amidst the morning rush. @theawaldrof
"I don't know what it is about this place - maybe it's because I'm convinced this coffee is full of some sort of magic - but the line in this place is always insanely long. I come out here nearly every morning before I begin running my errands and it's just always as bad. I swear the only time it's not is probably when they open but I'm just not getting up to come get coffee that early in the morning." she laughed. "I'm glad you've learned how to navigate it though. Because one wrong step and you'll be wearing that coffee." she shuddered. When her friend began speaking about how hectic her ay had been, Thea almost asked her what had happened, but before she'd gotten the chance to ask the other complimented how much her face had brightened her day. "Oh, don't flatter me, it'll get to my head." she playfully winked. "In that case, let me get you breakfast? Maybe something to brighten your day?" she asked, looking at her friend before she took a step forward in line, ordering herself a coffee and looking at her, waiting for the other to speak up if she wanted anything else. "I would pay for your coffee, but, you already have one of those so I'd say you don't need another, am I right?"

Chloe looked up from her slightly splattered coffee cup, her initial irritation melting away at Ashraf's considerate response. She smiled, shaking her head gently.
"It's alright, really. Just a little spill, nothing too serious," she assured him, her tone warm and understanding. "But I appreciate your offer. It's refreshing to encounter someone who's so quick to take responsibility. I think the coffee's still salvageable, though," she added with a chuckle, lifting the cup slightly to inspect it. "No harm done." @ashrafzamari
He had not been paying attention to his surrounding when he stepped into the coffee shop. Ashraf was in need of a quick cup of coffee before he would go into work. But this way was a very quick way of getting coffee by getting it nearly spilled on.
"Oh no, don't apologise. I was not looking where I was going," he quickly countered and looked at the coffee cup in the other person's hand. "Is the coffee still safe? Because if not, I will get you a new one. As an apology for me not looking out."

Chloe returned Thea's smile, shaking her head slightly at the mention of the coffee. "No worries, no spills here," she assured, grateful that the mishap was minor. "And trust me, I know how crowded it can get in line sometimes."
As Thea asked how she was, Chloe took a moment to assess her own state. "Honestly, it's been a bit of a hectic morning," she admitted with a chuckle. "But seeing a friendly face like yours definitely helps brighten things up."
She gestured toward the coffee shop. "You grabbing a pick-me-up too?" she asked, figuring that was a safe assumption given the setting. "Or are you just out and about enjoying the day?" @theawaldrof

Thea hadn't even realized how close she'd been standing to the person in front of her, not until they'd ran into her that was. Trying to take a step back as to not make the situation worse. "Hey, Chloe." she smiled, knowing the other through her wife, Lucy. "I hope you didn't spill any of that coffee on you; I didn't mean to be all up in your business, the guy in line behind me was all in my business." she shrugged. "I'm happy I ran into you though, how are you?"

Chloe turned to face Noa, a sympathetic smile playing on her lips. "No harm done, don't worry about it," she reassured, noting the eagerness in Noa's voice. She glanced down at the item in her hands, then back at Noa with a grin. "Well, I hope this is worth the excitement."
Chuckling softly, Chloe nodded in agreement. "I definitely feel like I could use an extra boost today. It's been non-stop since my shift started," she admitted, running a hand through her hair. "But hopefully, things will start to calm down soon." @noaandreas
When the woman in front of her turned, clearly ready to head out now that she had in her hands what was Noa's greatest desire at that moment, she attempted to sidestep out of the way to avoid a possible collision. Only, Noa misjudged and a minor bodily fender bender happened regardless of her defensive maneuver. "Crap, no, I'm sorry," she tried to laugh it off, "I'm just eager to get in my hands what you've got in yours."
A quick survey gave her some relief in noticing that no precious liquids had been spilled, leaving Noa to sigh to herself in that little comfort. "You sound just as tired as I feel," she noted. After a rough night with her father little sleep had been had and Noa was needing an extra kick this morning.

Chloe couldn't help but relax a little more as she followed Lucy down the corridor, her hand finding comfort in Lucy's grasp. The warmth of their connection always had a way of soothing her, even on the toughest days. "Yeah, it's been quite the whirlwind," Chloe admitted with a small chuckle, her eyes reflecting the exhaustion she felt. "Emergency surgeries, unexpected complications... You know how it goes." She glanced over at Lucy, a fondness softening her features. "But seeing you makes it all worth it." she said sincerely, squeezing Lucy's hand gently. @drlucyedwards
She could feel some of the tension leaving Chloe's body as their hands met, and it meant the world to her that she could still do that, that they could ground each other so easily. "Well, I can definitely help you with both of those things," she smiled, there were some perks to being a pediatrician and cute kids were definitely one of them. She motioned to one of the nurses that she'd be in the down the corridor and she started to lead Chloe towards the 'baby room'. "As shifts go it's been a pretty good one," she smiled, "two births and a few familiar faces." It was nice when she got to cross over with her regular patients whilst they had their hospital appointments. "You seem like it's been a busy one?" she asked. Reading Chloe hadn't always been easy, but now Lucy liked to think she could tell what her wife was thinking, most of the time at least.

Chloe knelt beside Lia, her expression a mix of concern and amusement. "Well, I think it's safe to say it was a memorable game for everyone," she replied with a gentle chuckle. "And hey, wear that basketball bruise like a badge of honor. Not everyone can say they've taken a ball to the head and lived to tell the tale."
She offered Lia a hand up, her eyes scanning the surroundings to ensure no one was filming. "And don't worry about your skull bruising, it's pretty resilient. But if you start seeing double or feel any dizziness, we might need to get you checked out, just to be safe. Otherwise, you'll be back on your feet in no time. Just think of it as a story to tell at parties." @lia-lozano
It probably wasn't the best sign that she was seeing stars but after a lifetime of being somewhat clumsy, she was pretty used to it. There had been a collective gasp from a few bystanders watching the game and she could hear the few laughs, some she was sure were coming from her brother but it didn't take long for someone to be kneeling by her side.
"If no one saw that then I'm great and if everyone saw that, I'm more embarrassed than anything." Blowing out a breath, she slowly sat up, nodding her acknowledgement to the person apologising before looking back to the woman who had come to check on her. "Little bit, I've never had a basketball to the head before but I can't say I'd recommend it." Carefully getting to her feet, Lia quickly dusted off of her clothes, keeping her head down just in case anyone was trying to capture her embarrassment on camera. "Thank you for checking on me, can your skull bruise? Is that a thing? God, this is just my luck."

Chloe's eyes widened in recognition as she realized it was Valentina standing in front of her. She smiled warmly, happy to see her again after all this time. "Hey Val, no worries at all," Chloe signed, her movements fluid and gentle. "It can get pretty chaotic in here, especially during rush hour." She glanced around the bustling café before returning her attention to Valentina.
Chloes expression warm and friendly. "How have you been? It's been a while since we last saw each other. What have you been up to?" She hoped her signs conveyed the genuine interest she felt in catching up with Valentina, despite their brief encounters in the past. @valentincflores
Valentina was really more of a tea girlie. The caffeine in coffee was usually too much for the brunette and often gave her headaches. Thankfully, whenever she stopped by Everything Goes, Leyla always made sure to have a fresh brew of peppermint tea waiting for her. Hence why when she arrived at the cafe, she was so intent on getting her daily dose that she didn't notice the person turning around just in front of her. A collision ensued and Val immediately reached her hands out to help steady the other person. It was only after they had both managed to gain their footing that she realized just who had bumped into her.
Chloe. It had been a couple years since the two had broken up and there was truly no bad blood between them. But still, seeing Chloe was a reminder of all the things Val felt like she was missing out on in life. Not with Chloe necessarily, but in general. A spouse, her own kids, her own family. Things she desperately wanted, but life seemed intent on not allowing her to have. "Sorry! It's just so loud in here," she pointed towards her implant, indicating how much more difficult it was for her to navigate loud, crowded settings. "I was entirely focused on getting my tea and getting out of here." Chewing on her bottom lip in an uncharacteristic show of uncertainty, Val struggled with what to do with herself in this moment. "Glad your coffee didn't spill though." she added, a sheepish smile coming to her face as she realized just how pathetic her conversational skills were. ( @chloexchenxedwards )

Where: Everything Goes Who: Briar Ridge Open Starter
As Chloe stood in the local coffee shop, her tired eyes fixed on the counter where her salvation in the form of a steaming cup of coffee was being prepared, she barely registered the hustle and bustle around her. Her mind was already drifting homeward, where her wife's comforting presence awaited her after a grueling 16-hour shift at the hospital.
With a weary sigh, Chloe finally reached out to claim her cup, the warmth seeping into her cold fingers offering a small semblance of comfort. But as she turned to leave, her exhaustion caused her to misjudge the distance, and she collided with someone standing nearby, nearly spilling her precious coffee in the process.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," Chloe murmured, her voice tinged with fatigue as she steadied herself and offered a sheepish smile to the person she had bumped into.

Chloe's tired eyes softened at Lucy's touch and the warmth of her smile. Despite the exhaustion of her shift, Lucy's presence always managed to bring a sense of comfort and ease to her day. "Oh, definitely here for the cute babies," Chloe teased lightly, her voice carrying a hint of playful sarcasm. "But seeing you is always a bonus," she added with a gentle squeeze of Lucy's hand in return.
"How's your shift going? Any interesting cases today?" Chloe inquired, genuinely interested in Lucy's work, even amidst her own exhaustion. @lucymargotedwards
Lucy's hospital shifts had gone down dramatically since the kids were born, but now that Hailey was in school and Noah was in pre-school there was slightly more time. Now instead of just popping by the hospital to check on her patients she was able to do complete shifts, loving the buzz that the busy place gave her. Sure, the clinic was nice but at times it became predictable.
She had just finished checking in on a patient when she walked down the corridor and saw Chloe. Her wife looked tired, but still somehow incredibly beautiful, even in scrubs and nearing the end of a grueling shift. "Hey," she replied, taking Chloe's hand in hers and squeezing it lightly. Lucy wasn't one for PDA, especially at work, so a hand was usually all she offered, but that squeeze said more than any words could. "You here for the cute babies or me?" she asked with a soft smile.

Where: Hospital Who: @lucymargotedwards
Chloe trudged wearily through the hospital corridors, her scrubs clinging to her tired frame. The weight of the surgery she had just completed hung heavy on her shoulders, but she knew she still had six long hours of her shift left to endure. As she passed through the bustling halls of the pediatric floor, her steps faltered momentarily before finding renewed determination. She needed a moment of solace, a brief respite from the chaos of the emergency room. Opening the door to the children's ward, Chloe looked around at the familiar faces of nurses and doctors performing their responsibilities. And then she saw Lucy, her wife, like a lighthouse in the sea of white coats. She moved to face her, a little grin pulling at the edges of her lips as relief filled her senses. Despite the exhaustion etched into every line of her face, Chloe felt a warmth spread through her at the sight of her wife's gentle eyes. "Hey."

Chloe glanced up from her beach towel, her interest piqued by the woman wielding the metal detector nearby. She couldn't help but smile at the enthusiasm in her voice as she listed off her finds.
"Wow, sounds like you're having quite the adventure," Chloe replied, her curiosity getting the better of her as she made her way over to join the conversation. "You never know what you might stumble upon at the beach, huh?" @sofiamartinex
location: briar beach pier open starter
It had been an impulse buy she had done after a bad break up some years ago, and while she had her sunday off she decided to give it a whirl, seeing as returning it was not going to be believable anymore. It was quite fun, waving the metal detector around across the sand, digging out various of items already, though most of it were cans. "Can you believe what they leave behind?" She said aloud to someone nearby, never having issues with starting a random conversation. "I've already found five beer cans, one can of pepsi, one earring and a necklace. Insane."

Chloe glanced up from her book, her attention drawn to the slightly disheveled figure standing before her. The faint scent of clay lingered in the air, a testament to his recent endeavors in the pottery studio. She offered a warm smile in response to his question.
"Of course, go ahead," Chloe replied, gesturing to the empty seat opposite her. "I don't mind at all."
As Nolen settled into the chair opposite her, Chloe couldn't help but be curious about the man who had joined her table. There was an air of creativity about him, a sense of passion that seemed to radiate from his every movement.
"Pottery class, huh?" Chloe remarked, nodding towards the smudges of clay that adorned Nolen's clothes. @nolenxrodriguez
Nolen was off on his lunch break from his pottery studio. So he was a little messy as he was just done teaching one of his classes on pottery. It was fine he was well used to being messy. That the apron never did cover everything on you. That if there was going be a mess it was going to hit where the apron didn't cover.
He had gone to one of the local pizza shops to get himself a few slices. He didn't need or want enough for a full pie. So he got two slices for now and went to find a table but it was busy inside so he was out of luck. He sighed as he a table with another lone person. He walked over "Mine if I join you? There isn't anything open right now" he asked with a smile hoping the other didn't mind.

Chloe watched from the sidelines, her lips quirking into a sympathetic smile as Lia stumbled onto the court, looking completely out of her element. She couldn't help but feel a pang of amusement at Lia's comically lost expression amidst the chaos of the basketball game.
As Lia took an accidental hit to the head and crumpled to the ground, Chloe winced in sympathy, her amusement quickly turning to concern. Hastening forward, she knelt beside Lia, a gentle hand reaching out to offer assistance.
"Hey, are you okay?" Chloe asked, her voice laced with genuine concern as she helped Lia to her feet. "That looked like it hurt." @lia-lozano
Location: Briar Ridge Rec Centre Starter for: Open
Did she know the first thing about Basketball? Other than it revolved around an orange ball and two hoops, Lia was completely clueless but as she stood at the side of the court, she at least tried to pretend she knew what was going on. Football, soccer, ice hockey, even baseball she would've been fine but as her brother bounced the orange ball on the ground, she couldn't help but wish he had given her some kind of cue cards so she could at least clap at the right time.
"They just move so fast.." Speaking to no one in particular. Her eyes widened as her brother hobbled off of the court. "You need to take my place, I have to get ice for my ankle." With little time to argue, Lia found herself on the court, not even knowing who's team she was on without shirts or bibs. "I can do this, I can do this, I can-- mother fucker." As the ball connected with the side of her head, the whistle blew and Lia tumbled to the ground. "This is so not my idea of fun."
