Finally got around to starting Hot Shot. Why in the shit is the MC so desperately attracted to this violent, disrespectful, emotionally unstable individual?

Like sure, Casey is attractive, but I would’ve lost pretty much any and all feelings the minute Casey started mouthing off and threatening my career, and even if I were stupid enough to stick around despite that, I’d have been gone the minute they started hurting people out of anger.

And yet this MC, just like pretty much every other 2023-2024 Choices MC, is hopelessly in love with the love interest because Horny.

To whichever writer wrote Violet and Aunt Mallory’s characters and interactions in RoE…are you okay??? The toxic dynamic between these two and the isolation and emotional suffering on poor Violet’s end feels just a little too real to me. Like it’s well-written but holy shit, it feels like it’s been written from personal experience on such a transcendental level.

While it’s on my mind, I like how Wake the Dead didn’t give us diamond outfits, but individual pieces of armor. What I don’t like is how our MC could have three sets of armor, each with a set of gloves, a helmet/headpiece, a chestplate, and a real weapon, while our friends were going into battle in like…graphic tees, flannel, blouses, and wielding pipes and wrenches as makeshift weapons.

ALSO while it’s on my mind…the hairstyles the MC gets? Yeah, almost none of those are safe for a zombie apocalypse in any capacity. Long, thick, grabbable, basically velcro for any zombie hands swinging their way. And since the zombies in the WtD universe are strong and at least somewhat intelligent…yeah, no. Not safe.

Granted, the male MC has mostly short hair options with only two long ones. As for the female MC, the only hairstyle of hers that’s remotely safe is the short black bob.

I dunno man. It’s nitpicky I know, but it’s one of the first complaints I ever had about the book.

Do you think Choices is dying? cause I do :/

Unfortunately yes, it hurts me to think about it because Choices is what got me into the world of visual novels and I love some of the old stories there. But the new stories are simply bad (with the exception of Immortal desires 2), they seem to be written by a teenager with raging hormones. Besides, now absolutely everything there is VIP, they don't care about people who have been playing it for years, they only care about those who have a VIP subscription. And with the departure of some people from the team, it's basically a ship about to sink :/

Gave Perfect Match another chance because I didn’t like it when it first released. I figured that since it’s one of the most popular series in Choices, plus the fact that it’s from the 2018/Golden Age era as opposed to the Modern/AI era, my tastes would change and I’d be able to enjoy it the way everyone else does.

…and tragically, I did not.
