the way the cj fandom got me afraid to make less-than pretty or silly headcanons in other fandoms

at this point everything i like is a guilty pleasure because im afraid of the fandom, but really, the cj fandom is just really cold and picky about it

and yeahyeah fandoms usually do that, but it normally doesnt affect me! but for some reason the cj fandom does and it sucks :(

There are so many problematic people in the cj fandom bc y’all don’t listen to both sides of the story

Someone can just make an accusation and everyone will believe them without hearing the accused person out

the cjfs got me allergic to words and phrases like "whimsy" and "its getting chaotic around here" and "too silly for this world" and ":3"

as a very pessimissitic and cynical cj fan, im very bitter about the "silly goofy" mindset, esp bc the only people in the cj fandom who have made me feel like an idiot publicly for no reason have been the people with that mindset sigh /nav

i mean, idgaf if you are silly and whimsical, all my friends are! but when you are actively being backhanded and passive aggressive to people who arent as joyfilled and :3 as you are, its a problem

like i cant even listen to cjs music anymore bc of the fandom. i havent listened to anything past the cjph because the fandom pains me greatly sigh

I'll be honest. Every time I see some mention of the fandom being harsh or any drama around here I'm just like "🧍what." I've somehow managed to avoid 90% of the drama in this place. I consider this a blessing atp.

so i don't usually participate in these kinds of accounts because i always get nervous, but i feel like this is an important message and it matters to me that at least a few people see this:

you are doing nothing wrong. in regards to your art, your headcanons, your writing: nothing you are doing is wrong. you are allowed to create the art that you want in whatever way makes you the happiest. your HMS interpretations are fine and awesome and you can do what you want with them forever. this is about CCCC if that wasn't clear

i struggle a lot with this because i often find myself trying to be a people pleaser, worrying about what people will think of the way i portray HMS especially, because this fandom has a history of being nasty and picky. but then that ends with me censoring myself and drowning my creativity. which, obviously, isn't good!

i think it's crucial to remember that everyone connects with CCCC in different ways and everyone will fixate on different aspects of the album. and also that so many people in this fandom are literal teenagers! seriously, every time there's drama revolving around a specific person, everyone involved is like 13 - 15 years old. fuck is up with that? let the kids do what they want!

the point is that you are doing just fine. make them do fucked up shit to each other, let them be friends, make them date or be siblings or just be friends or a fourth more sinister option. make them act silly or make them act like tragedy incarnate. give them layers and layers of depth or focus on just the tip of the iceberg. the world is your goddamn oyster, and if you don't like what someone has to say, don't fucking listen to them and carry on with your business.

i love this fandom dearly, and i like to think that we've progressed past the point of constant drama like how we were a year or two ago. i just get a little peeved when people start throwing insults at each other over the smallest of things.

So, I used to not really get This Sisyphean Nightmare. I liked the song, it was fun to listen to, but it just kinda sounded like a retelling of the story of Sisyphus and an analysis of how he probably felt. But, not too long ago, it kinda clicked in my head. It’s a reflection of The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus, opposing the idea that we should try to find beauty in the mundane because the mundane is absurd, and the fact that we’re here and living in this very moment is so astronomically unlikely, so we should learn to appreciate the miracle of existence, even the repetitive parts, the pointless parts, and the troubles that it’ll sometimes bring. It’s a rebuttal that says that, when life is a loop of meaningless misery that’ll only have to be done again and again, that you can’t just force yourself to love your torment. When all you do is the same series of tasks day in and day out, it’s right to be frustrated at that and to resent your forced difficulty, and it’s all contextualized and veiled by the mythical character of Sisyphus, adding extra meaning to it with the preexisting philosophy that that name brings with it. It’s a Fun song, and I’m Normal about music.

dunno how it's like here compared to jashtwt, but people on jashtwt are quick to assume MINOR and PETTY things, such as blocking, between a child and adult/older member that gets blown out of proportion immediately claims the adult/older member is in the wrong instead of listening to their side of the story and it's irritating

The CJFS is lowkey toxic as fuck and the eclipse church discord (cj thing, just very specific) made me feel really excluded when I was in it
