BASE PSD 01. REGINA

i’ve decided to share the base psd i created quite a while ago. i use this psd primarily for when i make gifs but it could be used in icons if that’s what you want. when used on dark scenes, it brightens considerably and is also poc friendly. there is also a reduce red option as some scenes, when brightened, have a very red hue. it is easily adjustable and should work for almost everything, depending on the lighting of the show or film you’re using it on. it’s very simple and completely free. all i ask is that you like / reblog this if you download it and credit me if you use it. do not redistribute or claim as your own.

            hand tightly curled around his toy elephant, pressing it hard against his chest. he was too afraid to close his eyes, to fall into that dark world he couldn’t escape from. he hated how real it all felt, how powerless he was, unable to wake up, unable to control where he wondered off to the times he sleepwalked. today had been a long day at school, with exams and extracurriculars and homework, and even though he felt exhausted, he knew he would be unable to get a good night’s rest. he knew his mom would come to him in his dreams, winter too, harrison and meadow and mr. guinea pig ( he was never able to look at a microwave the same way after ), the changs… and the killer clowns that had gotten them all. he had never asked his mama what had really happened, but he has assumed. he didn’t want to make her sad by telling her how sad he was, how he missed everyone and how there was nothing he could do about it.

            ❛     i’m not braver than you, mama.     ❜    no, she had gone against the clowns and survived, she talked in front of hundreds of people and they believed every word she said, trusted that she could actually make a change. how could he be the bravest when he had only been a frightened witness?    ❛     you’ll wake me up, right? no matter what, you’ll get me out of there?    ❜

                  oh oz, her sweet boy. he’s been through so much in his short life. she regrets it. her only regret. that her son was exposed to the trauma, that he was involved. she loves him wholeheartedly, more than anything in this world. and although she recognises it was a necessary sacrifice, her son’s naivety, his innocence   --   it’s agony nonetheless, looking in to his eyes now, seeing him too scared to sleep. her thumb brushes soothing circles over his covered ankle before she inevitably leans forward, reaching out with her opposite hand, running her fingers through his curls and bestowing a tender kiss to his forehead. bodily, she turns until she’s sitting right beside him, her hand still cushioned by his locks but her arm now around his shoulders, holding him to her side, where he is safe. 

                       ❛     i disagree,     ❜   her soft-spoken voice fills the silence of his bedroom, and ally smiles down at him with absolute certainty in her eyes.   ❛     i wasn’t brave, sweetheart. i was scared. very, very scared ... i was scared of what might happen to you if you were away from me for too long, and i had to pretend i wasn’t scared to get you back and keep you safe. but i wasn’t brave, oz.     ❜   it’s not a lie. it’s not a half-truth. the fear ally felt when ivy took her son away from her, when he was in kai’s clutches, too close for ally’s comfort   --   it was staggering. she hasn’t felt fear like that in years. genuine fear. real fear. she lifts the hand now brushing through his hair, a curled finger resting under his chin as she gently coaxes him to look up at her. when she speaks, she looks him in the eye and she hopes he can feel the promise she swears.   ❛     whenever you need me, wherever you are, i’ll be there. always. i love you, oz.     ❜

so i haven’t talked about it much publicly, and i’ve only spoken about it with a couple people, but my step-dad is actually terminally ill and he was admitted to hospital on saturday. last night, the hospital rang my mom and asked if he had a “do no resuscitate” order which he does. he’s not doing well at all. i’m staying home from work today because i don’t think i can handle a call centre while also thinking about him and whether he’ll make it to tonight. i might still be around here but i very highly doubt i’ll want to speak ooc with anyone. please don’t think i’m ignoring you if i don’t respond.
