logged back in just long enough to see someone ive never spoken to talk poorly about a title i gave one of my characters. awesome job everyone 👍

my fantrolls are still really awesome with cool designs and even cooler stories, i just got into a car accident and realized i spent way too much of my time worrying about the opinions of people thousands of miles away who are genuinely nothing but a blip in the long journey that will be my life, when there are real, genuine, wonderful things around me that actually deserve my time. i still love my ocs and will happily talk about them & their relationships. can't say i wish i had more time for this place because truly, deleting the app and spending my time reading, playing video games, and enjoying media has been 10x more enjoyable than this community has felt in years. i have to teach teenagers about gerunds and keep planes from falling out of the sky. the ftc has nothing on that right now.

i'll be alive on discord. sometimes. that's not new behavior but apparently i have to disclose having two jobs and a real life that takes up my time before talking to people.

edit: while the entire situation with jodiah / the monarks was upsetting, at the end of the day i was more upset at the lack of maturity and communication. regardless, that situation is only one small pebble on a mountain of reasons why its time to step away. a separation was long overdue for my mental health. this community never treated me the same after i was in an unhealthy relationship and that continual hostility after that breakup was the first sign. never thought i'd become one of those people who'd say "this place is gross and toxic" but at times, and in certain groups with certain people, it really is.

a month after this "official" break and I have had an absolute blast doing things i never had time for prior. Life is really enjoyable. I'm having fun indulging in new hobbies and spending time with family. not to mention the money ive saved not buying commissions and feeling like i have to send money around just for people to tolerate me. one day ill delete this post or blog but for now they both remain 🫡
