Lay it all down
Sweet Magnolias masterlist
Ty,Tay, and Kyle walked down the hallway together as they spoke about Ty having to talk in front of the whole class.
"What's the deal, it's an oral presentation. You can fake half of it as long as you do it with style." Kyle told him.
"You could. I don't do the whole talking in front of the whole class thing." Ty said back with attitude.
"Should I apologize for taking all the charisma in the family?" Kyle asked as Tay shook her head at him.
"Not funny, Kyle." Tay said in a serious tone.
"Kyle! I'd I don't pass this, I'm on academic probation from the team. I need your help."
Tay didn't worry about being on academic probation anymore since she talk with Maddie and Cal and started getting her grades up again. Even though it didn't matter cause she couldn't play with a broken arm anyway. Everyday she got more mad with Cal when they spent the whole practice in the gym stretching and working out one arm. The only positive thing is she's got her grip strength up from 60.1 to 63.8 in the past 4 weeks. She had two weeks left and then physical therapy and she'd be good as new.
"Say that again for posterity." Kyle asked him, messing with him.
"Coach saw your mom's posterity last night." Jackson walked by laughing and Tay reached out and punched his arm.
"Ow." Jackson rubbed his arm and walked away.
"That's not even what that means.... What's he talking about anyway?" Kyle asked
"I'll see ya." Ty told them then walked away.
"Wha.." Kyle said shook his head
"Just leave him alone. He needs to cool off, I'll see you after school, bye." Tay told him ruffing his hair and leaving as they both chuckled
"Love you." She said
"Love you too." Kyle told her.
Tay knew how Kyle felt. Constantly being ignored by Ty and Bill. Before Tay did baseball she did softball and 90 percent of her games only Maddie came too. Bill came to about 2 games max because he was always busy practicing with Ty or watching his pactice. So she tried her best to always make Kyle feel included and not feel ignored.
Later
Tay sat in Cal's classroom as he talked about the current subject they were learning and everyone in the class was either sleeping, on their phone, or just not paying attention.
"Now I know at least one of you beside Taylor can tell me the key elements of the Marshall Plan." Cal asked and nobody said anything. Tay sat in the front row playing a pencil waiting for someone to say something, "Let me remind you that participation is still ten percent of your grade and that some of you need it." Cal said as he looked at Tay who rolled her eyes, knowing no one was gonna say anything, "Let's see some hands." He said but still no one raised there hands. The door to the classroom opened and in came Maddie and Tay sat up from her slouched position surprised and confused.
"Hey,um, I'm here for Annie Sullivan." She said as Annie looked at her her a minute then stood up and left. Cal looked down at Tay who shrugged her shoulders before relaxing back in her chair.
After class
After hearing about Dana Sue Tay felt bad and went out to the school garden and picked two red roses before going back into the school and finding Cal.
"Cal- Coach are you going to the hospital?" She asked finaling finding him walking towards the entrance door.
"Yeah."
"Can you have mom give these to Aunt Dana Sue and Annie, please?" She asked handing him the two roses and he nodded his head.
"Yeah sure thing." He said walking out the school.
Later
Tay and Ty were stood at their lockers at the end of the day when Luke walked up to them.
"Am I driving you home or what?" He asked
"Yeah." Tay said as she looked over at Ty's phone.
"Uh, yeah, thanks." Ty said putting his phone in his pocket, "Sorry, it's been a weird day." Ty said shaking his head.
"I bet. Heard my folks talking about the whole thing last night. My mom said after everything your mom's been through, you know, she deserved a chance to be happy." Luke said
"You driving, or you trying to be Dr.Phil?" Ty asked
"Hey, man, Dr.Phil makes bank, all right?" Luke laughed as they walked out the front door.
That night Maddie went to Helen and Ty was stuck watching Kyle and Katie so Tay went out with some of her college friends. They stopped at the local bar and they weren't there even an horu before Tay spotted Trotter and Cal sat up at the bar drinking. She could help but ever so often look over at them to make sure they hadn't spotted her.
"Who are they?" Cassity asked pointing at Cal and Trotter.
"Oh, uh, well that one with the longer hair is my baseball coach and he would kill me if he saw me here, and the other one works at my mom's spa." Taylor told her and she nodded her head while staring at Cal.
"I know that one from somewhere. What is it?" She asked as Cal turned his head slightly to where you could see his face more and Cassity gasped, "Cal Maddox. Shortstop. Yes, that's who he is. I'm gonna go get a picture." Cassity smiled and went walking towards them.
"Cassity no-" But Tay was too late Cassity was already talking too him.
She talked to Cal and got a picture before she walked back over to Tay. She almost got away with it. Keyword almost. Cal just happened to look back at Cassity when he saw Tay. She gauranteed that he saw the flash of panic on her face. She turned away from him and joined Cassity and another friends conversation. She stayed in the conversation till they were about to leave before walking away. She slowly made her way over to Cal and Trotter but Cal had already spotted her cause he'd been keeping an eye on her since he first spotted her.
"Hey, look, please don't tell mom. I know I'm not suppose to be here and stuff, but I rarely ever here. And I'm here with responibly people." She told him and he srunched his face up.
"You're here with college students." He said
"Yea, who are responsibly. Just cause their in college doesn't them irresponsibly." Tay crossed her arms, "Okay, not the point, but please don't tell mom." She clasped her hands together tightly.
"Okay." Before he could get the rest out she punched the air and hugged him saying thank you, "But, that means you have to stop griping at practice." He told her and she nodded her head, "Okay, and I don't want to see you here again." He told her and she nodded her head before leaving.
At home
When she got home she ran upstairs to her bathroom and brushed the smell of alcohol off her breath before going back down to the kitchen and sitting down at the counter. Just as she sat down the front door opened and Maddie walked in. She walked into the kitchen just as Ty opened the cartoon of milk and drank out of it and she made a face at him.
"It's basically empty." Ty told her throwing it away.
"How's Ms.Dana Sue?" Tay asked her putting her phone down.
"She gave us a good scare, but she'll be fine." Maddie said putting a plate in the sink
"Good." Tay replied
"Annie's doing fine, Ty." Maddie looked at him.
"That's great." He said as Maddie put more dishes in the sink.
"Who's dishes are these?" She asked pointing at the sink full of dishes.
"Kyle's." Tay lied knowning full well they were Ty's from earlier.
"Kyle-" Maddie said before Ty interrupted
"Our coach, mom, really?" He asked
"Ty." Tay looked over at him.
"What in gods name are you talking about?" She asked looking between the twins.
"It's all over the school." Ty said as Tay rolled her eyes and Maddie laughed in realization.
"He came over to fix the sink. Tyler, you were there. You saw him, Tay saw him." She told him.
"I don't know what I saw." Ty said shaking his head
"I do." Tay raised her hand but she was ignored.
"People are talking. Look, mom if you want to date... eww, fine, whatever! But why couldn't you have literally picked anyone else in the stupid town? People just stopped talking about dad, now I have to deal with this?" Ty yelled as Maddie shook her head and Tay stood up.
"Dude, shut up! You literally can't talk. You're dating CeCe off all people! And you don't get to tell her who and who not to date. You are her son, not her boss!" Tay shouted at him and he rolled his eyes.
"Look, I know, I know. And I'm sorry, but there is nothing going on with me and Coach Maddox, and if that changes, you two will be the first to know." She said then Ty walked out
"Kyle do your dishes!" Maddie yelled then walked upstairs.
Tay shook her head sitting back down at the counter. Ever since Bill left she had some bad anger issues. It not like they spawned out of now where. She always had anger issues, especially when she was younger, but then she grew and learned how to control them, but then the moment Bill left it was like she was starting over and she had all the built up anger and she hated it, and then she would get mad at herself, but there was nothing she could besides try and ignore it. Tay liked Maddie and Cal together, they were good for eachother she thought, and Maddie needed someone who would treat her right, Cal was the guy for that. So when it was brought up she defended them, like any kid would.
The next day
"Okay? It's like- like being on the pitcher's mound. Right? You don't mind folks watching you then." Kyle explained.
"Yeah, but then I'm in my zone. You know I know what to do." Ty said sitting down
"Then find your zone. Okay, look, you gotta believe what you're saying. Okay? And try to bring the audience with you." Kyle tried to get him to understand.
"Yeah, but I don't even get the stuff, how am I suppose to bring the audience with me when Jackson Lewis is sitting in front of me?" Ty asked, "First, he was trash- talking dad and his baby mama and now mom and Coach. I just don't understand why they can't act like freaking adults." Ty complained
"You need to learn to keep your opinions to yourself cause nobody here wants to hear them." Tay got up walking out.
The next day
They had a game today and won which meant they were going to regionals and to celebrate they went to Whartons. Tay had been sitting with the boys when she saw Maddie, Kyle, and Katie all walk in. She got up and followed to Maddie and Katie to Cal's table.
"Hey, are these seats taken?" Maddie pointed at the seats in front of him.
"Not yet, but I do have to warn you, I have been told that people might talk." Cal said smiling.
"Let 'em." Maddie smiled siting down across from him.
"Talk about what?" Katie asked before Nana called her away and Tay sat down beside Maddie. They spent their time talking about random stuff and sharing laughs when they heard Katie from her seat by Nana.
"Daddy?" Katie had questioned.
Maddie and Tay turned to see where she was looking and found Bill walking out and Noreen looking at them as she followed him out. Tay stood up and walked after them which caused Maddie and Cal to stand and follow her. Kyle and Ty saw them and got up to follow them and slowly everyone made their way outside to see what was happening.
"Bill." Tay yelled as she walked out and Bill turned to her.
"Yeah, sweetheart?" Bill asked as everyone crowded around watching.
"Don't call me that. What's got you so mad? Is it that Mom is talking to someone? Crazy thing is, she's just having a conversation with a guy and her daughter so obviously nothings going on. Could have been talking but anything, but you automatically went to that she was moving on, from a BASTARD of a husband." Tay raised her voice.
"Look, Taylor, you don't know what your talking about. I just don't think it's right to be flir-" Bill tried to tell her as everyone around them kept silent to listen.
"Yes,YES I DO, YOU MOVED ON BEFORE YOUR MARRIAGE WAS EVEN OVER BUT THE MOMENT YOU EVEN THINK SHE HAS MOVED ON YOUR MAD. SHE ISN'T GONNA BE STUCK ON YOU FOREVER. See it helps cause you were a horrible husband so, she can move on a little faster than normal." Tay yelled.
"Tay, Tay just calm down. Look, I just didn't think it was appropiate for her to be flirting her son's co-" Before he could even finished his sentence Tay has raised her fist and right hooked him, and for a left hand it was a hard punch. Cal ran forward and grabbed her pulling her away from Bill. Bill covered his face before looking back up, you could see the anger enter his eyes when see Cal pull Tay away.
"Get you hands off her!" Bill yelled rushing forward. Bill reached his arm forward grabbing Tay's arm and tried to pull her forward before Cal push Bill away pulling Tay back.
"No, no. You don't get suddenly be on my side. You left my side the moment you had sex with her. Don't act like a father cause you lost that name. You have broke our family, we can never one again, all because you couldn't keep it in your pants. For once, could you leave us alone, just go, leave!" Tay yelled. You could see the physical hurt in both of their eyes, but you could see the final leaf fall when tears pooled in Tay's eyes. Bill walked away with Noreen and got in his car and left. Every stood staring at Tay, before she sniffed back her emotion and turned to walk back into Whartons. Slowly everyone trickled back in and got back to what they were doing.

Character Explanation
Ophelia Queen-
Backstory:
Lia is the older twin of Oliver, born just minutes before him. Her whole life she's been living in Oliver's shadow-not because she wasn't capable, but because she chose to stay away from the spotlight. While Oliver partied, drank, and lived recklessly, Lia was the family's quiet pillar, often overlooked by their parents but deeply respected by those who knew her.
When the Queen's Gambit went down, Lia was in grad school overseas at Oxford, devasted by the presumed death of her brother. She returned to Starling City only after Moira's insistence and immediately took over various charity projects her father had neglected. She grew close to Tommy during this time, who treated her a like a sister and often tried to get her to lighten up.
When Oliver returns from Lian Yu, Lia is the first person he visits in secret, and the only one he trusts with the truth. She's shocked by his trauma, but never wavers in her support. Eventually, she joins him in his mission, serving as his moral compass and helping plan operations behind the scenes. Eventually, she trains in archery, stealth, and combat-her codename "Wraith" comes from her ability to move completely unnoticed.
Personality:
Introverted, kind-hearted, and deeply empathetic.
Book lover- constantly has her nose in a novel, especially crime thrillers or poetry.
Doesn't drink or party, but allows herself to be dragged out occasionally by Oliver or Tommy.
Holds grudges deeply, but forgives quietly when someone proves themselves.
Has a sharp strategic mind, often the one to come up with plans Oliver wounldn't consider.
Terrified of losing Oliver again, so she's fiercely loyal-but doesn't hesitate to challenge his darker impulses.
Skills:
Expert in hacking, strategy, and stealth
Later becomes skilled in archery, light weapons, and hand-to-hand comabt
Strong research and investigation skills-she's the brains when Felicity isn't around early on.
Cassian Wolfe-
Ex-mercenary turned bodyguard/ private investigator.
Backround:
Cass is not from Starling City-he grew up in Coast City in a rough neighborhood, surviving on his own after his parents were killed in a gang-related crossfire. At 18, he enlisted in the military, eventually joining a black ops unit, but he left under mysterious circumstances. For years, he worked as a mercenary, until a mission in Starling City forced him to confront the consequences of his past.
Now, he's trying to start over, working as a private investigator and bodyguard for hire. He lives by a strict code: protect the innocent, punish the corrupt, and never get close to anyone-until he meets Lia Queen.
Personality:
Rough around the edges, deeply loyal, and wary of emotional attachments
Keepsy everyone at arm's length but is fiercy protective once he lets someone in.
Dry sense of humor, often uses sarcasm to cover up trauma or emotional discomfort.
Deeply moral, despite a past full of violence-he seeks redemption, not glory.
Him and Lia meet when Cass is hired to protect her along side John Diggle who is there to protect Oliver. Lia is intrigued by his mystery and his quiet protectiveness, while Cass sees in her a goodness he doesn't believe exists anymore.
Tension builds fast-he's drawn to her, but resists, believing he's too damaged for someone like her.
Lia calls him out on his self-loathing, challenging him to believe he's worthy of redemption and love.
Oliver doesn't trust him at first-Cass's mercenary past is a red flag-but over time, Cass proves his loyalty, especially when he saves Oliver's life during a mission gone wrong.

A Boy in a Bush
Bones Masterlist
"As far back as 1938, the director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, wrote to the then-curator of the Jeffersonian Institution, Professor Daniel Payne, to aid in the evaluation of specimens Hoover thought to be irrefutably human. This was the result" Brennan said into the mic, then showed a photo of a monkey screaming as everyone left and Charlie stepped up to speak.
"Despite the early disagreement, the FBI and the Jeffersonian have forged a mutually beneficial, if somewhat tense relationship, which survives to this day. Thank you." Charlie smiled as the lights came back on and Dr. Goodman walked over as everyone clapped.
"Thank you, Dr Charlie and Temperance Brennan. Are there any questions? Yes?" Dr. Goodman pointed to a girl in a pink shirt.
"How much money have you made from your book?" She asked
"We don't really know. We have an accountant and an agent.." Brennan went to say to them.
"That's not really the kind of questions we're looking for from an anthropology student. Yes?" Dr. Goodman nodded his head at another guy in a green shirt.
"Did you get your agent before or after you wrote the book?" The guy asked
"People, Dr. Brennan and Dr. Charlie are accomplished forensic anthropologists who writes books on the side." Dr. Goodman said and they heard two familiar voices.
"I have a question."
"Me, as well." Two guys stood up, it was Grant and Booth.
"Regarding the of the two FBI agents in your book. Who do you base brilliant and insightful Special Agent Andy Lister and Special Agent Maddox Thomas on?" Booth asked as him and Grant shared a look.
"Oh, for God's sake." Dr. Goodman rolled his eyes.
"Cause you know, pretty sure it was us." Grant shrugged pointing between him and Booth.
"What are you guys doing here?" Brennan asked them.
%
"Local police got an anonymous call saying that there were human remains in a field behind a mall out in the suburbs." Booth told them as they walked out of the building.
"We did an anthropological profile of the suburb as a grad students. The whole notion of a created community; a modern utopia with its own mores and rules-- it's fascinating." Brennan told them.
"Fascinating to who?" Booth asked
"To whom. Whom.." Charlie corrected him as they walked up to their cars and Booth laughed looking between the two new cars.
"You gotta be kiddin' me." Booth shook his head.
"What? Our publisher gave them to us." Brennan told him as Charlie and Grant walked to the next parking spot and Charlie back hatch opened and she put her bag in it.
"Gave them to you?" Booth asked
"Yeah. Book sales are pretty good. They're suppose to be nice cars." Brennan continued to explain.
"Gave it to you?!" Booth asked again.
"Yes, Seeley. Books sale were good, we got new cars for it. Anymore repeated questions?" Charlie asked him.
"Don't call me Seeley." Booth told her.
"Don't call me Thomas." She told him and he chuckled shaking his head.
"Not gonna happen."
"Then I guess your stuck with Seeley, and because your in on it, your gonna be called Theodore, not Theo, not Grant, Theodore." Charlie pointed at Grant and he hung his head.
"Why'd you park crooked?" Booth asked pointing at both crooked cars.
"Well, the guy said to always park it like that." Brennan told him.
"He's wrong. Makes you look like an idiot." Grant shook his head.
"How about I drive for once?" Brennan pointed to her car.
"Yeah, I'll drive too." Charlie pointed at her car.
"No, we cannot show up at a crime scene in those." Booth shook his head.
"Why?" Brennan asked
"Because it would detract from the gravity of my FBI presence. Especially if you parked crooked."
"Why is the FBI involved in the search for human remains behind a suburban mall?" Charlie asked as Charlie and Grant walked back over to them and Grant got out a paper from his pocket.
"Cause this boy is missing." He said handing it to Charlie
"Oh. A child." Charlie said as her and Brennan stared at the paper.
"Yeah." Grant stuck his hands in his pockets.
%
"Anonymous call came in a couple hours ago. No sign of him yet." The officer told them as they walked across the scene.
"How do you know it wasn't a prank." Booth asked him and the guy started to play the recorded call.
"You have to come right away! There's, like, a dead kid here, all rotted away! It's in a field behind Clayton Hills Mall. You better come!" A girl screamed into the phone.
"That rings true." Grant said.
"Why anonymous?" Charlie asked
"Kids come here to party, misbehave..." The officer shrugged.
"Adolescents and pre-adolescents tend to seek out their own space to establish their own society; to counter parental influence." Brennan said.
"You mind if I make an observation?" The officer asked
"No, of course not."
"In your book, the cops come off as very one-dimensional. Why is that?" The Officer asked them.
"You mean two-dimensional." Charlie corrected him.
"One-dimensionality exists only in theory, as a mathematical value." Zack told im.
"Okay. Really looking forward to your next book." The officer said then walked away.
"Did you bring the thermal imager?" Brennan asked Zack.
"I don't think we need it." Zack said and Brennan gave him a look, "It makes me look like the Great Gazoo."
"I don't know what that means, but we definitely need it, Zack." Brennan told him and he set down his the cases in his hands and walked away.
When Zack got back he put the suit on and they walked out into the field.
"How's it going there, Darth? Anything on Saturn? Aw, please tell me you've seen at least one Star Wars movie. I know Charlie has, we watched it together when were younger, but come on, you didn't like go home and suggest she watches it?" Booth asked looking between Charlie and Brennan after Brennan gave him a weird look.
"When I was seven. And leave Zack alone." Brennan told him.
"You did go home and suggest it." Booth smiled and tried to fist bump Charlie and she just shook her head at him.
"Can we please hurry up? It's stuffy in here. I should be able to see any heat residue released from decomposing bodies." Zack said walking away.
"Party central." Grant said pointing his flashlight as trash and stone set in a circle for a bonefire.
"Because suburbs are so homogeneous, adolescents tend to rebel in predictable and uniform ways: Fire, illicit substances, wayward behavior..." Brennan spoke as they looked around.
"You think that wayward behavior would include abducting a six-year-old child?" Booth asked her.
"That's pretty extreme. Adolescents are more likely to drink alcohol and listen to culturally inappropriate music at high volume." Charlie told him as she looked around at the trash on the ground.
"I'm picking something up. Oh, my god." Zack said as he walked forward.
"What?" Booth asked and Zack stopped and took his helmet off.
"Why'd you stop?" Grant asked him as he walked forward.
"You can turn on your flashlight. Aim it over here." Zack said moving some bushes to a dead body of a child.
%
"Before proceeding with masuration any general observation? Zack?" Brennan said as Charlie wrote stuff down on a clipboard.
"Epiphysial fusion puts the age at approximately six to ten years, though the stature suggests younger."
"Good. I concur."
"Cause of death?" Charlie asked him.
"Blunt trauma to the chest." Zack told her as she looked over at Angela who was taking deep breaths as she shook her head. Charlie looked at Brennan to see her looking at Angela as well. They both walked over to her.
"Are you all right?" Charlie asked her.
"He...he's so small. That's all. Go on with your work; I'm okay." Angela told them as both sister stared at her for a moment before they walked back over to Zack and Hodgins.
"The remains were significantly degraded by insect and animal activity-- mostly dog and rodent. Despite the condition of the body, he's been dead only between 36 and 48 hours." Hodgins said as he leaned near the body looking at it.
"These were found a few yards from the body. Notice that they are in perfect condition. What does that tell you?" Brennan looked at Zack.
"The victim wasn't wearing them when he was killed." Zack raised his eyebrows.
"Which suggest he was sexually assaulted." Charlie said before looking down at the floor.
"I'm done." Angela said handing over a sketch of the boy.
Brennan took it and walked over to the computer that had the little boy's picture on it.
"I think we have a match. The clothing matches. It's Charley Gregory Sanders." Brennan conformed.
%
"These are invitations to a banquet." Dr. Goodman handed Brennan one of them.
"You called a special meeting to invite us to a party?" Brennan asked taking one.
"Don't think of it as an invitation, consider it a summons. It's for donors." Dr. Goodman said giving Charlie one before walking over to Hodgins.
"Meet and greet, press the flesh, butt-kiss..." Hodgins shook his head.
"I don't like it any more than you do, but these people fund our research, and all they went in return is to rub elbows with a scientist every once in a while." Dr. Goodman said handing Hodgins one.
"Can't make it." Hodgins said setting his invitation on a nearby desk.
"Yeah, me, neither." Brennan spoke up.
"I have a date that night." Angela said as Charlie threw her's on a nearby table.
"You don't even know when it is." Dr. Goodman handed Angela her's as Zack raised his hand.
"Yes, Mr. Addy." Dr. Goodman handed Zack his.
"What kind of food will there be?"
"When I said you should think of this invitation as a summons, I understated. It's a subpeona. A grand jury subpoena. Ignore it at your own peril." Dr. Goodman told them all.
"You're not gonna fire us if we don't go." Charlie shook her head.
"No, not fire you, but I can move your parking spot to Lot M. Enjoy the shuttle ride." Dr. Goodman nodded his head at her.
"The shuttle smells like feet." Zack said.
"Mm-hmm" Dr. Goodman nodded his head.
"I know when I'm beat. I'm in." Charlie said sitting down as Brennan sighed and sat down beside her.
"What the hell? It's a party." Angela showed the invitation.
"Do I have to wear a tie?" Zack asked.
"Formal wear. I've arranged for a limo to pick us up from here." Dr. Goodman said and went to walked out.
"Not me. I'm not afraid of parking or feet." Hodgins told him
"Wait.... you drive me to work. You can't just think of yourself." Zack told him.
"Repercussions and consequences, Dr. Hodgins. I'm your boss and you will go to this banquet." Dr. Goodman told him and walked out as Hodgins grabbed the rubber band on his wrist and started smacking it on his wrist.
%
"You about to clean the bones?" Brennan asked as Charlie and her walked into the bone cleaning room.
"Yes. I'm warming up the boiler now." Zack said as the boiler hissed.
"Something wrong?" Charlie asked him.
"These are the smallest remains I've ever worked on." Zack sighed.
"Thats a valid observation, Zack, but it's not helpful to the investigation." Brennan told him.
"Sorry, Dr. Brennan." Zack said before turning and grabbing something.
"We were at Waco. Branch Davidian compound. We helped identify children who had been killed in the fire. 17 of them." Charlie shared with him.
"So, you're saying I'll get used to it?" Zack asked her.
"No... I'm saying you'll never get used to it."
"We're primates. Social creatures. It's coded into our DNA to protect our young, even from each other." Brennan said.
"So I'm always going to feel terrible?"
"What helps is me is to pull back emotionally. Just... put your heart in a box."
"I'm not good with metaphor, Dr. Brennan."
"Focus on the details."
"Details-- yeah, I can do that. No trauma to the skull, no compound fractures. Charley was not beaten to death or dismembered." Zack told them.
"It helps not to refer to the victim by name." Charlie told him and he nodded his head.
"Green stick fractures on ribs four, five, six, and seven, and the sternum is snapped transversely from the tip of the xyphoid." Zack told them.
"What does that indicate?"
"The victim's chest was struck by a heavy, blunt object." Zack nodded his head.
"Are you completely certain we've learned everything we can from the body at this stage of decomposition?"
"I've been over everything at least three times."
"Smell the mouth. Anything behind the typical smells of decomposition?" Charlie asked him after he leaned down and smelled the mouth.
"Some kind of chemical? Chloroform? Something used to render the boy unconscious?" Zack asked and Charlie nodded her head.
"Take samples from the mouth, jaw, sinuses, and... what's left of the esophagus." Brennan said as Charlie sighed.
"Kids make it harder, Zack." Charlie told him before they walked out of the room.
%
"There are 20 surveillance cameras taking stills every two seconds throughout the mall, including access corridors and parking lots. I concentrated on the ones aimed at the public concourse." Angela told them as they all stared at the screen.
"Okay, 10,000 people a day go through that mall. How are we going to find one small kid?" Booth asked
"Angela designed a mass recognition program to apply body types to skeletal remains." Charlie told him pointing at the screen.
"Endomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph-- that sort of thing. I modified it to scan two-dimensional images. In this case, we're looking for a body masses roughly congruent with Charley, Sean, and David. There's David." Angela pointed at the screen when it highlighted David.
"You're actually one of them, aren't you?" Booth asked her.
"One of who?" Angela asked
"The squint. You look normal, and you act normal, but you're actually one of them." Booth said as Charlie shook her head.
"This whole mass recognition program was Brennan's idea. I'm completely normal. Really." Angela nodded her head.
"Yeah. Maybe before you got this job but, well..." Grant told her shaking his head.
"I see Charley." Brennan pointed at a figure as it highlighted.
"Whoa. That's him, all right."
"Oh, god." Angela sighed.
"Ang... are you okay?" Charlie asked her.
"These are probably the last pictures of this little guy alive. Why is he alone? Whey isn't anybody with him?" Angela said then sighed, "Sorry. Ma resolution is x-40 by 480 pixels per square inch." Angela said as they watched him walking before he ran off.
"He's not alone. Someone's calling him over. Can't you just zoom in?" Booth asked.
"The few pixels that make up an image, the more the picture degrades once we zoom in on it. Did that sound too squinty? " Angela looked over at Booth and Grant.
"Anyway to enhance it?" Charlie asked
"Well, I wouldn't bet a date with Colin Farrell on it." Angela said.
"I know him. He's funny." Brennan nodded her head.
"Funny is Will Ferrell, sweetie. Hot is Colin Farrell." Angela corrected her.
"Look, the kid was definitely moving towards someone, all right? He wasn't struggling, he wasn't trying to get away. You know, I want to add the neighborhood kids-- Skyler and Nelson-- to the list of possible suspects." Grant nodded his head.
"I have one other angle, but our bad guy is still obstructed in it." Angela said changing the angle.
"Who the hell are you?" Booth asked as they all stared at the screen trying to even catch a glimpse of the guy.
%
Charlie was sat in her office looking over the victim's bones when a knock on her door interrupted her. She looked up to see Grant walking in.
"Hey." She smiled as he sat down in the seat in front of her desk.
"Hey." He smiled back and it was quiet for a moment.
"Look, I kissed you and I don't regret it." Grant said and Charlie stared at him, "Charlie, look, I like you, very much." Grant told her and she smiled.
"I like you too." She told and he smiled at her
"How about we go on a date sometime after this case?" Grant asked
"Sounds great." Charlie smiled at him.
There was a knock are her door and they both looked up to see Brennan.
"We gotta go see all the things Zack found in the bone room." She told them and they both stood up and followed her.
They walked in to see Zack and Booth standing there staring down at the bones.
"We found some abnormalities. They're bowed and abnormally short." Brennan said pointing at the bones.
"Also, the victims bones show freezing of the joints at the hip and knee." Zack pointed at the hip and knee as he spoke.
"Are you sang Charley was crippled?" Booth asked
"The victim was disabled, yes." Brennan told him.
"His mother never mentioned that."
"The ribs are broken in two places, which is not typical of blunt force trauma."
"How do you explain it?"
"I'd attribute it to his medical condition and the corresponding brittleness of his bones." Zack told them.
"I agree. What is that condition?"
"It looks like scoliosis. A bend in the spine." Zack said and they walked over to the x-rays.
"I think it's more than that, Zack. There are multiple calcified lesions on the posterior thoracic vertebrae. That plus Charley's short stature and the asymmetric length of his legs. Margaret Sanders may not be Charley's biological mother." Brennan looked over at Booth and Grant.
"What?" Booth asked.
"Test the bones for X link type of hypophoshatemia and Coffin-Lowry syndrome." Charlie told Zack and they went to walk off but Booth stopped them.
"Whoa, Whoa. Okay, hold on. Simmer down, just back up to the part where she's not his mother." Booth told them.
"Dr. Brennan is having me check for hereditary genetic defects which are always passed from mother to child." Zack told him.
"If Charley had one, then Margaret Sanders is not his mother." Charlie told him and Booth and Grant sighed.
%
"How can you say that?" Ms. Sander's asked
"Charley suffered from a hereditary genetic disorder called hypophosphatemia." Brennan said down in the seat next to Charlie while Booth and Grant stood behind them.
"Charley's real mother would have the same disease." Booth finished for her.
"You do not." Charlie told her.
"Never say I wasn't Charley's real mother because I was."
"Biological mother, then. Mrs. Sanders, you are not Charley's biological mother. Hmm? You want to explain that to us?" Grant asked her setting photos on the table.
"I can't have children. That's why my husband left me. So I took in foster kids."
"Like Sean and David Cook."
"And Charley. Though his name was Nathan. I got him as a baby down in Pittsburgh. Ten days old. His mother was arrested o drug charges, and Child Services brought him to me. Three weeks I had him. Then the charges were dropped."
"And you kept him?"
"No. I gave him back. But it nearly killed me. I stayed in touch. I bought him things. Formula, a stroller. I wanted to make sure he was all right."
"Nathan what, Ms. Sanders?"
"Nathan Downey. His mother was a drug addict named Jeannine. Christmas Day, I found her dead on a kitchen floor, a needle stuck in her arm, and I could hear Charley crying upstairs. So, I went up."
"And you took him home."
"I looked him in the eyes, and I promised him I would never leave him alone again. And he stopped crying. I expected every day for Child Services to come looking."
"He would have ended back up in the system anyway." Charlie shook her head.
"I meant to keep him safe. And love him. And now, he's dead." Ms. Sanders started crying.
Charlie looked up at Grant and he shared a look with her before looking back down at his shoes.
%
"Okay, I had to arrest her." Grant told her as they walked into his office.
"The story checked out-- the overdose."
"She confessed to kidnapping." Grant told her as he walked around his desk.
"Margaret Sanders did nothing more than respond to the anthropological imperative. She saw an orphan and reacted." Charlie told him.
"This is not a National Geographic study, okay? This is the suburbs."
"Why would she kill the boy? She obviously loved him."
"There are situations, right, the kid gets sick, he doesn't turn out to be what she wanted. I bet that you could give me a dozen examples of societies that have killed their own young." Grant walked back over to her as she crossed her arms.
"Well, what about Sean and David Cook? Where do they go now?"
"Back into the system." Grant told walking back to his desk.
"Do you have any idea how bad the foster care system is?"
"Do you? What do you want to do, hmm. Do you want to kidnap them, the way she kidnapped Charley?"
"I want you to let them go home to Margaret Sanders."
"It's not gonna happen." Grant told her and she turned and walked out.
%
Charlie was sat in Brennan office beside Brennan. Brennan was working on the new book they were making on her computer and Charlie was using her laptop when Hodgins walked in.
"Chem lab mass spectrometer identifies the particulates in Charley Sanders' mouth as fluoride." Hodgins told them, "I recognize those looks." Hodgins said before looking over Brennan's board that was covered in sticky notes.
"What?" Brennan asked.
"You're writing another book. When you guys write, Brennan, you get this stunned look on your face, like you stuck a fork in a toaster. Charlie, you get his super mad look, like you wanna beat the crap out of someone. Am I in this one, too?" Hodgins asked.
"You weren't in the last one. Fluoride? At what concentration?" Charlie asked him.
"It's to high for toothpaste."
"Put together a list of.... Put together a list of anything that could conceivably contain fluoride at those levels." Brennan said moving the board so he would listen.
"All right. Do you have time for this?" Hodgins pointed at the board and Charlie and Brennan groaned.
"He gave us cars." Charlie told him.
"Nice! Who?"
"Our publisher. Now I feel like I have to earn it by writing another book. Since I can't write another book without Charlie." Brennan pointed at Charlie.
"Fight coercion in all it's forms. You don't write a book, I don't go to the banquet. Solidarity." Hodgins said then walked out.
"Angela has a face for the abductor." Booth and Grant walked in.
Charlie and Brennan both jumped up walking quickly to Angela's office.
"I looked on both cameras. This one offered up more reflective surfaces." Angela told them once they were all there.
"Right at the door." Booth looked over at Brennan and Charlie.
"Check this out." Angela said zooming in on the door.
"The abductor's face."
"By polarizing the image, the computer can interpret the spaces between the white and the dark gaps and fill in the missing pieces." Angela said and the pictured cleared.
"Wait, that doesn't look like an adult." Grant said.
"When I repolarize the image..." Angela said and the screen became more clear.
"Sean Cook." Booth said as the all stared at the photo.
"The victims foster brother." Charlie said
%
Charlie and Brennan stood behind the glass watching as Booth and Grant as Sean questions.
"Where were you taking Charley, Sean?" Booth asked him as he played with water on the table.
"I brought him to the mall to see David." Sean told them.
"I know you brought him to the mall, but we got a picture of you... leading him out of the mall." Booth showed him the photo.
"Have you seen much of this kind of thing?" Brennan asked the Juvenile prosecutor who stood behind the glass with them.
"I'm a juvenile prosecutor. I wish I could say kids killing kids was rare." She told them.
"Where were you taking him, Sean?" Grant asked him.
"When can I talk to Margaret?"
"After you answer our questions."
"Can he do that? Lie to a kid?" Charlie asked her.
"We're after a child killer, Dr. Brennan. If the child advocate is there doesn't complain, I sure as hell won't."
"What's the point of having a child advocate if he doesn't advocate for the child?" Charlie asked her.
"I get he impression you're confused as to what side you're on, Dr. Brennan."
"Sean. You know what that is?" Booth pulled his dress shirt up showing Sean a scar.
"A scar?"
"Yeah. I got it,uh, when I was playing soldier with my brother, Jared." Booth told him.
"Did it hurt?"
"Yeah, it hurt. But it was an accident. Grant's got a scar too." Booth pointed at Grant who looked at Booth before looking back down at Sean and nodded his at Sean.
He pulled his shirt up to show a long cut down his ribs.
"I got that when me and my cousin were running around and horse playing in a spot we weren't suppose to be." Grant told him before letting his shirt fall back down, "You got any scars?" Grant asked him and Sean pulled his sleeve up to show little circles on it his arms.
"My dad did it with a cigarette." Sean told them.
"He shouldn't have done that."
"Margaret didn't do anything like that. I love Margaret." Sean told them.
"What I need to know is if Charley had some kind of an accident. Sean?" Booth asked and Sean started playing with the water again.
"Maybe we can just take a break." The child advocate suggested as Sean turned away from Booth and Grant.
"Sean?" Grant asked him.
"He's not being aggressive enough." The juvenile prosecutor said.
"Foster kids are powerless. They're treated like garbage. You're in a position to do something about it and all you say is, He's not being aggressive enough?" Brennan asked her.
"Dr. Brennan, you know this boy may very well have beaten a child to death with a rock?" She told them before turning and walking out of the room.
%
Charlie and Brennan walked up on the plateform to see Angela walking away from Hodgins mad.
"What's up with Angela." Brennan asked as they walked over to Hodgins.
"It's.... job pressure. Fluoride at lower concentrations is used in toothpaste, instant tea, and is added to our drinking water, which, I might add, can cause a range of conditions, brain damage..." Hodgins started to tell them.
"Which has nothing to do with the case at hand." Brennan told him and he walked over to where he had more papers set.
"The concentrations found on our victim might come from wood preservation's, paint thinners, car wax, or various other industrial products." Hodgins told them handing them a paper.
"Okay. Did Angela say anything to you about quitting her job?" Brennan asked him.
"No. But we hardly know anything about each other." Hodgins told them and they walked away.
%
Charlie and Brennan were in the bone room when Booth and Grant walked in.
"Bones. Thomas. I thought you'd like to know... Sean and David are in emergency care. Pulled some strings, you know, to make sure they... they get to stay together." Booth told them and Charlie nodded her head as she looked down at the bones.
"That's good. Thanks." Brennan told him.
"It's the best we could do.
"Yeah. We understand."
"Oh... you know, you say you guys understand, but you don't, not really. I mean, if you don't like the rule, you ignore it, right? I can't have that. And if you want to do this..." Booth walked over to the table.
"Do what?" Charlie asked him.
"Work on cases. You know, with us, outside the lab. If you want to do that, I need to know that you will respect the law." Booth continued to tell them as Charlie looked over at Grant and he looked away from her looking down at his shoes.
"Tell you what. If we can't respect the law, We can at least respect you two." Charlie told him as she set her clipboard down.
"Oh... Yeah, that'll work, too. It kind of comes out of nowhere, but..." Booth said as Charlie looked down seeing a broken pencil in front of the table where Grant stood.
"Look what you did." Charlie said picking up the pencil.
"It's a pencil. I'll get you a new one." Grant told her.
"The victim was killed by trauma to the chest, but the ribs are broken in two places, not just one." Charlie pointed at the bones.
"Probably because of the brittle bones, because of the.. his disease." Booth said.
"Well, that was my assumption, but there's another explanation." Charlie said as she looked over at Brennan and both went to walk out.
"Whoa. What's the other explanation?" Booth stopped them.
"Compression." Brennan told him as they started to walk out.
"Wait. Charley Sander's was crushed to death?" Booth asked as they walked out of the room.
"Yes! Green Stick fractures, vertebral and sternal. See?" Brennan showed him the pencils.
"Hey, Sean Cook out weighed Charley Sanders by what, maybe 30 pounds? How could he have crushed him to death?" Grant asked as Angela walked by them.
"Angela, we need to run some scenarios through the Angelator." Charlie told her and they all walked towards her office.
"Angela! Whoo!" Charlie heard hodgins but she just continued towards Angela's office.
When Booth, Grant, and Angela finally got in the office they started with the scenarios.
"Charley was three feet four inches tall and weighed 58 pounds." Angela told them as they looked at the floating hologram of Charley.
"And Sean?"
"Sean Cook is 1.4 meters tall and weighs 31 kilograms."
"His brother David was five eight, 150 pounds."
"1.75 meters, 69 kilograms."
"At first, I thought the break to Charley's sternum was caused by blunt trauma because it only ran alone one fault line. But, when Grant broke my pencil, I realized there's another way to cause the same type of injury: compression." Charlie told them.
"Well, Hodgins found no particulates that suggested crushing." Angela said as they watched a knee come down on Charley's chest.
"Body weight. There has to be enough weight on the victim to stop the abdomen from moving so no air can get into the lungs. Prolonged pressure caused the sternum to snap in half and the ribs to break." Brennan said as they watched the knee pushed down on Charley's chest till it snapped and Angela sighed looking away.
"Sorry. Sorry. I entered real-world variables, taking into account Charley's size and the amount of pressure...that was required to break Charley's sternum in the way it was broken." Angela told them after collecting herself.
"What did you end up with?" Booth asked
"86.2 kilograms." Angela said.
"What's that in American?" Grant asked
"190 pounds." Charlie told him.
"Yeah." He nodded his head.
"Way to much for either of the Cook kids or Margaret Sanders."
"I put the neighborhood kid, Skyler, at about 160 pounds."
"Well, it can't be him, either."
"We should be looking for a full-grown man."
"You have to get Sean to tell you where he took Charley when they left the mall."
"He won't talk to us."
"Let us do it." Charlie told before looking over at Brennan who have a slight nod of her head.
"Uh, no. People are not your strong point and besides, he's not gonna care how many facts you put in front of him."
"Could you just go with us on this one, Booth? We're trying to catch a killer. Let us help." Brennan told him.
"When's the last time either of you even talked to a kid?" Grant asked and both the sisters gave him a look.
"We know what to say." Charlie pointed between her and her sister.
%
"Do you remember us, Sean?" Brennan asked him.
"The museum ladies, the ones who are super smart." Sean told them and they both left out small chuckles.
"Yeah, we're pretty smart. Smart enough to know that you didn't kill Charley." Charlie told him and he looked down at the table.
"You don't have to say anything, Sean. Just listen. They give you a garbage bag to carry all your stuff like they're telling you everything you own is garbage, and then you have to go to a new school in clothes that smell like garbage bags." Brennan told him.
"All the regular kids know you're a foster kid. How do you know what it's like?" Sean asked them.
"They bounce you from place to place and it's never home. Sometimes the foster parents are nice." Charlie told him as tears slipped from his eyes.
"Like Margaret?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. And sometimes they separate you from your older brother." Charlie looked over at Brennan before looking back down at her shoes.
"It must have been nice with Margaret, staying with David." Brennan told him as he cried some more.
"We got bunk beds. At night, I knew David was there. I knew he was guarding me. Margaret's nice." Sean told them as Charlie held back her tears before speaking again.
"You'd do almost anything to stay with Margaret, right? The man who took Charley to, the man who hurt him, he's knows that. He didn't know that he'd hurt Charley, but he did. And then he told you that Margaret would blame you-- that she'd hate you-- but this man is lying to you, Sean. We can make sure that you go back to Margaret." Charlie told him watching he more and more tears slip down his cheeks making more tears puddle in her eyes as her voice cracked ever so often.
"How? You work at a museum." Sean asked.
"We have friends at the FBI. If we ask them, they'll make sure that you and David get to live with Margaret again." Brennan told him.
"Dr. Brennan you can't make promises like that."
"Yes, I can. They will do it. Our friends will make it happen. But you have to tell us-- who hurt Charley?" Brennan told him.
"What if Margaret doesn't want me anymore? Charley was her real son."
"Charley wasn't her biological son either. Charley was just like you, someone that Margaret chose to love. I don't think we should let that man take you and David and Charley away from Margaret, do you? We should stop him. Us and you should stop him." Charlie told him as a couple tears slipped down her face that she was quick to wipe away.
Sean turned and hugged Brennan who sat beside him as Charlie was leaned against the wall. Once Sean told them who it was, Brennan hugged him a little longer before Charlie patted his head and walked out. Booth and Grant stood outside the door and Charlie looked up at them.
"You guys take Temperance and go, I'm gonna stay back." Charlie told him wiping the tears the kept pulling in the corner of her eyes.
She turned and walked away hearing Grant behind her.
"Charlie, Charlie." He called for her as she sped after her, but she just kept walking.
"Charlie." He reached out grabbing her arm that was reached up wiping each eye.
She turned around smashing her self into his chest. He put his arms around her as she cried into his chest. After a minute she pulled away wiping her eyes.
"Ahem, you should, uh, they're probably already in the care waiting for you." Charlie told him and he shook his head.
"They already left." He smiled at her and she stood there a moment before wrapping her arms back around him.
%
Charlie and Brennan were sat at a table with David and Sean Cook when Margaret walked into the room with the juvenile prosecutor, Booth, and Grant behind her. The boys ran over to her hugging her. Charlie and Brennan stood up smiling at them. Charlie looked over at Grant and smiled at him and he sent a small smile back.
After everything was over Charlie was in her office filling some paper work to close the file on the case when Grant walked into her office.
"We have him cold. The insecticide he was using on the termites matches the fluoride concentration perfectly. Skyler's dad admitted everything." Grant told her as she walked back over to her office chair.
"Don't tell me. He said crushing Charley to death was a mistake."
"He never abused Sean Cook. He just used him to get near Charley. It played out just like you guys said. He had Charley out in that field. Some teenage kids, they come by. So, he knelt on Charley to keep him from crying out. Sean got scared. He ran back to his brother." Grant told her as she stared at her desk.
"Charlie was small and weak. His sternum collapsed. You think he abused any other kids?"
"Yeah. Probably his own son." Grant nodded his head
"You report that to child services?"
"Mm-hmm. Try to get the kids some help. And I'm sorry." Grant told her and she shook her head.
"For what?"
"You have personal experience in the system." Grant said and she looked over at him before looking back down at her desk as she sat back in her seat.
"Me and Brennan was foster kids until our grandfather got us out."
"Yeah, when you said, um, they'd take you away from your older brother, I kind of had the feeling you weren't talking about David Cook."
'Grant... I'll tell you all about it one day. But tonight, I have to get dressed for a party."
"Oh. Okay, Thomas."
"By the way, there's a huge ding on my passenger-side door because you told me not to park it at an angle." Charlie told him and he started laughing.
"What?"
"Okay, that's just mean!" Charlie stood up and he laughed more.
"You're mean." Charlie shook her head and he turned around before turning back to her.
"Sorry." He laughed and walked out.
%
Charlie and Brennan walked over to the others who ready for the party seeing Angela hugging Dr. Goodman.
"What happened?" Brennan asked.
"Apparently, all Angela needed was to hear job description in a deep African-American tone." Zack told them.
"Mr. Addy." Dr. Goodman went to say something before Grant and Booth walked over.
"Dr. Goodman, we need Hodgins in the lab tonight. F.B.I. needs this analyzed by morning." Booth said handing Hodgins a bad filled with sand.
"Uh, I-I'm gonna get right on it." Hodgins nodded.
"Wait a minute. What case file is this?"
"Are we supposed to know about it?" Brennan asked.
"Booth and Grant mentioned it to me earlier today." Angela said.
"That's good enough for me." Brennan looked at her and Charlie shrugged.
"Fine. You're off the hook, Dr. Hodgins. Let's not keep the limo waiting." Dr. Goodman and everyone walked out beside Brennan and Charlie.
"Thanks." Hodgins told Booth then walked up on the platform as Grant and Booth looked over at Brennan and Charlie.
Charlie walked over to Grant as Booth walked over to Brennan.
"You look nice. Better than nice. You look, uh, very..." Grant stared at her.
"Thanks." Charlie smiled as he chuckled.
"Thomas, how did you know I was going to keep your promise?" Grant asked her.
"What promise?" She asked confused.
"To get Sean and David back with Margaret Sanders."
"Maybe I was lying to catch the bad guy. I learned that trick from you. The end justifies the means." Charlie told him and he smiled.
"Hmm." Grant said before turning to walk away.
"Theodore. I knew you'd back me up. I knew you wouldn't make me a liar." Charlie told him.
"How'd you know?"
"Because you want to go to heaven." Charlie said and he smiled.
"But you don't believe in heaven."
"But you do." Charlie told him and his smile widen before turning and walking away.
Charlie turned to Brennan who stood waiting for her then they both walked out.

Cowboy- Steve Rogers
Chris Evans Imagines
Harper walked into her childhood home and set her suitcase as she looked around.
"Holy cow! It hasn't changed a bit." She spoke, her country accent strong.
She walked up the stairs to her bedroom and opened the door. She set her bags and suitcases in it before heading back down stairs. She walked into the kitchen before letting out a scream.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked the guy that stood in her kitchen getting a cup of coffee as he turned to her wide eyed.
"Um... Steve Rogers. Ranch hand." He said taking a sip from the mug.
"Ranch hand? No one told me we had a ranch hand." She spoke more to herself then him.
"Yea, your aunt Mary hired me about 2 years ago, right before she got diagnosed." He told her and she nodded her head.
"Um.. Harper Thomas. Which you already know." She mentally slapped herself in the head as she stuck her hand out for him to shake. He smiled and shook her hand.
As she stood their staring at him she was finally able to properly take in his appearance. His blue eyes peirced anything they looked at, he had a well built stature, light stubble across his face, and you could see the muscle through his winter coat.
"Oh, Darling! Your home and I see you've already met Steve." She turned at the sound of her Aunt's voice.
"Aunt Mary! So good to see you!" She ran over to her hugging her.
Her Aunt Mary has been diagnosed with cancer and was skinnier than the leaniset beef cow. Her skin white as the clouds in the sky and her once bright green eyes were now a raging forest green.
"Hey, baby, how was the trip?" Mary asked her as they parted.
"Long, but good." Harper sat down at the counter as Mary walked around the counter and got herself a cup of coffee.
"How's Ohio been treating ya?" Mary asked her sitting down beside her.
"Oh they were good. I was working at Budcurry farm."
"I hear they're a bunch of city slickers." Steve spoke up taking a sip of his coffee.
"Oh, they are, but when I showed up, I showed how we did in down in the south." Harper told him and he smiled.
"Well, why don't you go and help Steve, here, with them morning chores and get to know him, then we can head into town for lunch and go to Duncan's diner." Mary suggested
"Sounds good, I'll go up and change then be down to help ya." Harper told Steve before heading upstairs to her room to change. She changed into boots, jeans, and a button up before coming back downstairs, just as Steve set his cup in the sink.
"Alright, let's go." He said when he saw her and they walked out to the barn, "You wanna clean out them stalls?" He asked her as he grabbed two rakes from the storage room.
"Sure." She took one from him and they started going to each stall and cleaning them, then laying new hay.
"So, why'd you start working here?" Harper asked.
"Well, my parents died, in a car wreck about 3 years ago, some city slicker had come down here, got black out drunk and decided to drive himself home, crashed into them at the intersection on I-95, going 120 mph. I needed a job after, needed to be able to pay the bills on the farm, so I looked and looked, finally Aunt Mary, hired me. She was the only one who would give me the time of day, because I wasn't once so strong, I was a little twig. Even, though I got a job, I wasn't able to keep up with sales tax on the ranch, so I sold it, Aunt Mary lets me live here." He told her the story as she stopped and listened.
"Wow, I'm sorry." She told him but he just shook his head.
"It happened 3 years ago, I'm morned and grieved, it's alright now." He told her, before it went quiet as she started to rake the stall again, "What brought you back?" He asked her.
"Aunt Mary, she called me when she got diagnosed, but at the time, I was right in the middle of the big project for Budcurry, so I wasn't able to leave right away, but the moment I was able to, I on my way back." She told him.
The next two hours the two talked about anything and everything as they did the morning chores.

Frank watches Y/n and Mary cook dinner
Chris Evans Gif Series Masterlist
Party in the USA blasted through the house as Mary and Y/n made spaghetti for dinner.
"It's a party in the USA!" Y/n and Mary screamed as Frank opened the front door. He smiled at the pair that didn't notice him and kicked his boots off by the door. He set his keys down on the small table by the door then walked past the pair and laid down on the couch.
"Am I gonna fit in?!" They sung as Y/n let Mary pour the boiling noodles into the strainer in the sink, Mary being careful not to pour any on Y/n's hands.
"Careful." Y/n mutter as Mary picked up the strainer and shook it around, getting the let over water out. They took to the noodles over to the meatballs and sauce on the stove and dumped them in it, "Alright, now, stir." Y/n handed the spoon to Mary and she carefully stired the food together.
"So, I put my hands up. They're playing my song, the butterflies, fly away!" They continue to scream. Mary looks up from the food and when she spots Frank she smiles dropping the spoon on the counter and jumping off her stool.
"Frank!" She screamed and ran over jumping on him. Y/n smiles, taking over stirring watching the two talk. Frank stands, taking Mary in his arms.
"What'd you guys do today?" He asked smiling at Y/n as he walks into the kitchen.
"We went and got ice cream!" Mary tells him, her smile reaching her eyes.
"Oh, yea, get me any?" Frank asks and she nods her head.
"Yep!"
"Awesomeeee, we can all have some after dinner." He tells her as she wiggles down from his arms and climbs back on her stool to continue stirring. Frank walks around the counter coming to Y/n's side and leaning down kissing her.
"How was your day, baby?" He asked her
"Good. We also ran some errands, grocceries, anddd, we got her hair trimmed." She kisses him back before turning to Mary and pointing to the hair that no longer reached her lower back and now stopped at mid-back.
"It looks good!" He smiles reaching over and taking a meatball from the pot on the stove and both girls turn and glare at him.
"You haven't even washed your hands!" Mary complained making him laugh.

Chapter 3
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Masterlist
Thru started walking getting closer to where they had all the dinosaurs. When they got their they saw a giant ship. Owen used tiny binoculars to see what they were doing.
"They have Zia. They're loading out." Owen told them.
"If they already have the dinosaurs, why do they need us?" Franklin asked
"They needing the tracking system to capture Blue."
"There she is. She don't look good." Owen said and they're was a giant rumble and they looked behind them see more of the volcano blowing up.
"We need to get on that boat." Owen stood up.
"The rocks good. We're safe on the rock." Franklin said as they all got up.
"It's the boat for the lava, Franklin." Claire told him and he stood up.
"All right, boats good. I'm all about the boat." Franklin said and they started running down to the boat.
As they ran a lava ball blew up by Franklin making him fall.
"Franklin!" Claire yelled turning back.
"Hey, get that truck going!" Owen told her
"Okay." She said grabbing Harper and Theodore's hand dragging them with her.
Owen grabbed Franklin while Harper and Theodore got into the back of the truck. Owen got the truck start and Owen and Franklin jumped into the back.
"Hold on!" Claire yelled and shifted up into the high gear and they sped up.
They looked out the window and saw that boat was departing from the rock. They jumped the truck barely made it. It was on the edge of the boat and Claire hit the gas hard getting it up off the edge and onto the boat fully.
They all looked out the back watching as the last dinosaur, a long neck, stood on the dock roaring as the gray cloud got closer to her. Harper gasped as her eyes brimmed with tears.
The gray smoke covered the dinosaur as she jumped up and it turned to red smoke showing the outline of the dinosaur jumping up on her hind legs. Everyone watched as the doors slowly closed.
The dinosaur roared again before it shadow disappeared. Harper sniffed and wiped her tear as the door shut all the way with a loud shut. She looked at her dad who stared at the ground a tear in his eye.
She looked at Theodore who stared at the door that was closed now as if he was still watching the dinosaur disappear into the smoke.
Harper looked at Owen, who was looking at her, and he shook his head.
"I'm sorry." He told her
"I told you don't make promises you can't keep. Yet you still promised. Pinky promise even, and you broke. Next time you really shouldn't make promise you can't keep." Harper told him then sat down in the corner of the truck.
Later they snuck over to the truck that Zia was in with Blue. They walked in and Zia looked at them with relief.
"Oh, my, god! You guys are alive! You..." Owen put a finger up hushing her as they got in.
"Oh, look what they've done to her." Owen told pitting his hand on Blue.
Blue was strapped down to the table with a thing covering her snout. Zia had a towel to her bullet wound and it was covered in blood.
"Who are these assholes?" Zia asked
"Animal traffickers. Look how they're treating them. They're not gonna take 'em to a sanctuary, they're gonna sell them." Owen told her setting his hands on her to help calm her down.
"Not Blue. They need her for something else."
"Like what?"
"I don't know, but she's.... She's hemorrhaging, and I don't have instruments, and they went to her alive."
"Hey, shhh... You're alright. You're all right."
"Claire, come here. Come on. Put your hand here. Steady pressure."
"Hey, hey, hey, hey."
"Watch out. I can't take the bullet out without a transfusion from another animal. Which one of you knows how to find a vein?" Zia asked looking around.
"Oh, I-I did a blood drive for the Red Cross." Claire told her
"Great. Oka, Franklin, take over for Claire."
"No, no, no, no, no, no."
"Franklin. Now." Zia told him and he walked over taking over for Claire.
"Steady pressure." Claire told him as Blue groaned then Blood squirted on his face.
"Oh, my, god. Oh, my, god. Is it in my mouth? Did it get in my mouth?" Franklin asked as Theo and Harper tried to hold back they're laughter.
"Mm-mm. You're good."Owen shook her head
"All of the animals should be sedated. Look for any kind of tetanuran. Their blood type should be close enough. Look for carnivores with two or three fingers. No more than three. I think there's one on board." Zia told them covering her mouth.
"The T-rex." Harper gasped

Chapter 4
The Meg Masterlist
Harper was walking down the hallway when she found Suyin standing by her fathers bedroom door.
"Hey, Suyin. Whatcha doing?" Harper asked pointing towards her father's door.
"Hi..I was... um, apoligizing." Suyin said then Mac came down the hallway and she followed him away.
Harper pressed the doorbell on her fathers door and opened it in just a towel.
"Hey, d- Harper. Hey, What do you need?" Jonas asked her and she looked at him then at Suyin walking down the hallway.
"N-nothing. I'm gonna go." Harper told him and he looked at her confused as she walked away.
She followed Mac and Suyin into the meeting room, where everyone was sat. Mac and Suyin found a seat as Harper stood off to the side by Suyin's daughter, Meiying.
"This is what attack us. A megalodon." Suyin told everyone.
"How big is that thing?" DJ asked
"Between 70 and 90 feet. 21 to 27 meters." Harper told them
"Yep. The Megalodon was the largest shark that ever existed. It feared nothing. It had no predators. It's jaw were stronger than any other animal, ever. The meg could bite a whale in half, crushing through the bones." Suyin told everyone.
"We are in uncharted territory. Until today megalodon were thought to be extinct over two million years."Dr. Zhang said.
"Wrong." DJ muttered.
"A living fossil." Jaxx stared at the screen.
"That living fossil ate my friend." The Wall said and everyone looked down at the table.
"I cannot begin to express my sadness for Toshi's death. We have the discovery of a lifetime. This is what Toshi worked for. It's what we've all worked for. But we're going to have to have to proceed slowly." Dr. Zhang said
"Yeah, that's really not gonna work for me. What is Mana one?" Jack spoke from the window.
"This station?" DJ asked
"Yes. And what's it doing? Hmm? Right now. Exactly. Nothing. 20 million dollar rover, gone. Thirty million dollar sub, gone. You are now sitting in the most expensive underwater marine biology day camp in human history." Jack spoke as everyone listened.
Harper turned when she heard Meiying talking.
"Hey, crazy." Meiying said and Harper turned and saw her dad leaned against the wall.
Jonas looked down at and she smiled at him. Jonas smiled and bent down beside her.
"Thank you for keeping your promise." She told him and he smiled
"Your welcome." He said to her and she stood up and walked out patting his back.
He stood back up as Harper turned back to Jack.
"Other people will want a piece of this thing, whether we like it or not." Jack said
"You seem to like it." Jonas spoke up.
"Excuse me?" Jack asked as everyone turned to Jonas.
"I said, you seem to like it." Jonas crossed his arms.
""I'm sorry. Is he part of this team?" Jack whispered to everyone.
"You're damn right he's a part of this team." The Wall said in a threatening voice.
"Okay." Jack put his hands up.
"You ever think that mother nature might know what she's doing? The thermocline might just be there for a reason? Hey, look, you wanna explore? Go ahead, explore. But if you start sending people down there, don't call me to come save your asses. Because in case what happened down there wasn't clear to you, man vs meg isn't a fight." Jonas told them as he walked up to the table.
Harper stepped up speaking.
"It's a slaughter." She told them.
Her dad turned and looked at her before looking back to them. Harper turned and walked out of the room. As she was walking down the hallway She saw Meiying with her ipad and a little ball on the ground and she was looking around, Harper walked over to her.
"Hey, what are you doing?" She asked as they continued walking and walked through a plastic film into another section of the building.
"nothing." Meiying told her as the ball got stopped by some stuff laying on the ground.
They turned at the intersection of hallway's and Meiying leaned down grabbing the ball. They both felt a large presence and turned to see the meg right outside the glass walls. Meiying dropped her tablet and ball thats in her hands. Harper froze as she stared at the giant shark before them. Meiying and Harper both screamed as the shark leaned out and tried to bit through the glass and the whole building shook. It was long before Jonas and Suyin came running down the hallway.
Harper sat against the wall as she stared at the ground breathing heavily. Suyin ran over to Meiying.
"Mama." Meiying cried out as Suyin grabbed her.
Jonas walked over to Harper pulling her into his arms as he looked at the teeth marks in the glass.
"Are you okay?" Jonas asked her
"Y-yeah, yeah. Um, t-the meg." Harper pointed to the glass. Jonas stood staring at the glass as Mac came running down the hallway staring at the glass with him.
Suddenly a whale hit the glass. The baby one.
"It's okay. It's just a whale." Jonas said
"Wait. Where's Lucy. Where's the mom?" Suyin asked as Harper walked over to Jonas putting her arms around him and he put his arms on her back.
Suddenly the meg came and bit the whale killing. Harper dug her head into Jonas's stomach.
"Dad." Harper squeezed him as he patted her back.

Chapter 5
The bag over Belle's head was taking off and she squinted her eyes as a bright light them. Once her eyes adjusted she looked around seeing tons of tents with baskets under them. She was shoved forward as she tripped across the rocks. Tony followed with Yinsen behind him. As they walked they looked around seeing the cases that read "Stark Industries" on them. They walked over to a guy who stared at them before looking at Yinsen back to them. He said something and Yinsen translated for them.
"He wants to know what you think?"
"I think you got a lot of my weapons."
"He says they have everything you need to build the Jericho missile. He wants you to make a list of materials. He says for you to start working immediately, and when you're done he will set you free." Yinsen told him and Tony shook the guys hand.
"No, he won't." Tony smiled.
"No, he won't." Yinsen nodded his head with a smile as the guy looked at him.
They were taken back in the cave and Tony sat down in front of the fire staring at it.
"Where never leaving here, are we?" Belle asked.
"I'm sure they're looking for you, Stark. But they will never find you in these mountains. Look, what you just saw, that is your legacy, Stark. Your life's work, in the hands of those murderers. Is that how you want to go out? Is this the last act of defiance of the great Tony and Belle Stark? Or are you going to do something about it?" Yinsen knelt down beside them.
"Why should I do anything? They're going to kill us, you, either way. And if they don't, we'll probably be dead in a week." Tony told him.
"Well, then, this is a very important week for you, isn't it? Hmm?" Yinsen asked as Tony looked at him then Belle.
It was like Belle read his mind as her eyes went wide.
%
"If this is going to be my work station, I want it well, lit. I want these up. I need welding gear. I don't care if it's acetylene or propane. I need a soldering station. I need helmets. I'm gonna need goggles. I would like a smelting cup. I need two sets of precision tools." Tony said as Yinsen translated and guys brought stuff in and out.
%
"How many languages do you speak?" Belle asked as unscrewed a missile.
"a lot. But apparently, not enough for this place. They speak Arabic, Urdu, Dari, Pashto, Mongolian, Farsi, Russian." Yinsen answered as Tony took the man motherboard out of the missile.
"Who are these people?" Tony asked.
"They are your loyal customers, sir. They call themselves the Ten Rings." Yinsen told them.
"You know we might be more productive if you include me in the planning process." Yinsen told them as Tony unscrewed the other end.
"Uh-huh." Tony said as his hit the other side, getting the tip of the missile off and pulling out the stabilizing section.
Tony brought it over to the table and pulled a tiny piece of palladium out of it.
"Okay. we don't need this." Ton threw the rest behind him.
"What is that?" Yinsen asked and Tony yelled it up
"That's palladium, 0.15 grams. We need at least 1.6, so why don't you go break down the other 11?" Belle told him.
They started getting to work once Yinsen got out the rest of the palladium. They melted the palladium down, while it melted Tony packed dirt into a small pot and put a metal cone in the middle. Yinsen got the palladium off the fire.
"Careful. Careful, we only get one shot at this." Tony told him.
"Relax. I have steady hands. Why do you think you're still alive? Huh?" Yinsen said as he walked over and started to pour the melted palladium into the dirt mold.
"What do I call you?" Tony asked
"My name is Yinsen."
"Yinsen. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too." Yinsen smiled.
Once the palladium dried Tony took the ring out of the mold and set it carefully in the casing. Belle took over and melted all the piece of copper and metal together. Once finished Tony hooked the thing in his chest up to the mini arc reactor and it started to glow as Yinsen came over.
"That doesn't look like a Jericho missile." Yinsen said.
"That's because it's a miniaturized arc reactor. I got big one powering my factory at home. It should keep the shrapnel out of my heart." Tony explained.
"But what could it generate?"
"If my math is right, and it always is, three gigajoules per second." Tony told him.
"That could run your heart for 50 lifetimes."
"Yeah. Or something big for 15 minutes." Tony said as Belle walked over with a couple papers.
"Here." She said flicking on the other lights.
"This is our ticket out of here." Belle said
"What is it?" Yinsen asked her.
"Flatten them out and look." Belle told him flattening the paper to see suit.
"Oh, wow. Impressive." Yinsen said
After finishing the arc reactor Tony had Yinsen put it in his chest. Once it in and Tony stood he gave Yinsen a high five.
