female draco malfoy is always going to be something that interests me, i mean fem! harry potter is great and all (like def 100% badass) but fem! draco would change the timeline in so many ways

here’s my opinions on her (disregarding the plot of the fic i am alr writing):

her name:

what would her name be? acc to many theories in the hp fandom, since narcissa was one of the ONLY people in the black family to not be named after a constellation, she would surely name her child after it (and she did— draco in the far northern sky)

Lyra? Cassiopeia? Aurora? Estella? or would she put a twist on the name ‘draco’ and make it draconis? keep it draco?

her family situation:

it’s well known in the fandom that lucius malfoy is a prejudiced mf so if he had a daughter and not a son, the plot would be so different. the pure blood families were known to marry their daughter’s off the second they graduated from their magical schools. would fem! draco grow up knowing her fate was just to sire more heirs, grow up the same way her mother did?

her personality:

fem! draco would be much different from canon! draco because of one main thing— social hierarchy. while draco had relied on his physical appearance, name and male-dominated intimidation tactics, fem! Draco would navigate hogwarts with a more manipulative and socially dominant stride. she would be more concerned with social networking and influence than her male-counterpart.

rivalry with harry:

harry wouldn’t see her as a threat, atleast not as much as he did the canon! Draco. their rivalry would mostly just contain sharp words towards one another, carrying tension underneath. remember, before hogwarts, draco was fascinated in meeting with harry so fem! draco would be much more disappointed when she found out her hero was just a boy who seemed to loathe everything she did (never meet your heroes, kids!)

her relationships:

i firmly believe that in whatever shape or form, blaise zabini and draco malfoy would always be best friends, just like harry and ron. however, in love interests, it would be fun to see how in the post-war, fem!draco falls for astoria creating a rather interesting queer pureblood match. the oldies would RIOT!!

it could also be interesting to see draco and harry together (enemies to lovers!!!) and since drarry is already a very popular mxm ship, it would be interesting to see how they would tackle this romeo and juliet situation if one of the characters were the opposite sex

also personally, i feel fem! draco would be more sensitive and smarter than canon! draco and would not follow blindly into her parent’s footsteps. she could have been a spy in the war (which side? idk? maybe both?? seduce harry and find out his secrets? or maybe, for the order of phoenix she would become a death eater and find out voldemort’s plans?)

there’s so much plot-change js by changing draco’s gender!!! while these are all my personal opinions, i firmly believe the harry potter plot would be more fun to read if it were true!

Tbh, anytime I read a Marie Antoinette biography, I am still shocked that it took Marie and Louis seven years to consummate their marriage.

They didn't dislike each other or anything. They got along well enough for an arranged marriage. He found her charming. She didn’t mind him. He was affable enough. Everyone assumed: “Well..he has physical problem. Or she has a physical problem. Why else haven’t they done it? They are not competent leaders!”

Then in the end…it turns out they were both idiot teenagers that no one had ever explained basic lust/sex to.
