hey all, a little update! i wrote a post with paragraph-long explanations and suggestions for 2023’s prompts, but i decided that i will not be doing that moving forward. there are a couple reasons for this, with the main one being that i don’t think it’s necessary, and i want the interpretations to be as open & up-to-you as possible.

i know there’s a chance the explanations were helpful for people last year, so that could be something i ask about in the post-CGW survey! but ultimately, i think it’s easier if i save some time and pour that writing energy into the CGW creations i want to post, as well as providing other needed info on here.

thought people might want to see what the prompt-voting google form looked like at the end, so here:

the first two i chose were obviously the two with 8 votes each -- first kiss and "let's get away from the crowd". i then included all of the ones with seven or six votes -- flowers, love letters, college, and prom. i still had one spot left to fill, and there were a lot of prompts with five votes, so i went ahead and picked from those -- jealousy.

& that's how the final prompt selection went! in case you were curious :)

if you want to participate, the rules are the same as last year's:

hey all! on the survey i sent out after last year's chrisginny week, i asked how y'all would like the prompts to be chosen. the majority said they'd like to vote on prompts, while many also said that they'd like to suggest prompts themselves. so: i'll combine the two!

please send in prompt ideas via asks to this blog (@chrisginnyweek) (can be anon if needed)! then, we can vote on them as a community via polls. i haven't figured out exactly how that's gonna work, but i'll work that out soon. in total, we'll end up with seven prompts for seven days of the week.

also: if you want to send in prompts, please do so before april 15th, 2024. this is to give me time to figure out the voting, and the community time to prepare creations.

OP note #1: i'm super busy this summer through like. mid-december. so unfortunately i won't be able to accommodate absolutely everyone! just trying to get a rough sense of the timeframe y'all prefer & make sure as many people can participate as possible! :)

OP note #2: as per last year's rules, CGW creations can be posted before or after the event dates, so long as they're tagged correctly. it's just that it's harder for me to keep track of them after the week is over, so they may not get reblogged! noting this in case it changes your opinion on the dates.
