Island Gallery Penang

My art friends and I in Sabah have made 28 butterflies to send to Penang for Island Gallery's 12th anniversary celebrations end October. Their anniversary theme "Dancing Butterflies" will feature over a hundred butterflies made by family, friends and contributing artists from all over!

Welcome to the 9th edition of our Installation Art by the Bay KK!

This year's theme is #VivaCity

Let your creativity be energized with enthusiasm and excitement!

We plan to do the physical set up at the Boardwalk, Segama KK in mid September 2022.

Furthermore, your upcycled creations and videos will also be showcased on our online platform just as how it was in 2020 and 2021.

Who can join? Anyone or group from anywhere can join for free!

GUIDELINES

Firstly, please read the terms and conditions and then register by downloading the form from here and emailing the completed form to christianne.goonting@devaser.com

Proceed to sketch your idea proposal keeping the theme in mind. Focus on upcycling and then email your sketch to hassanal.bagul@com.gmail and CC christianne.goonting@devaser.com by 30th May 2022.

Start working on your creative installation and record your progress (photos/videos). Ensure that your team name, country of origin and the #InstallationArtKK2022 hashtag are clearly seen in the photos/videos and send them to us via email as soon as possible. You are encouraged to send WIP photos/videos so we can share your progress.

You are invited to set up your creative installation at the Boardwalk, Segama KK for a period of 4 days in mid September 2022 for public viewing. The exact dates will be confirmed later. If you are not able to come to the Boardwalk, Segama KK to set up, but would still like to participate, then complete your installation and do your final video shoot. It would be good if you could set up your creation where it would look its best. For example, at a nearby beach, pond, sea or riverside. Remember to get permission from your local authorities if necessary and dismantle your installation soon after.

Send us your final video (not more than 3 mins) by 30th August 2022.

Join us for the launch - physically or virtually - in September 2022! The exact date will be confirmed later.

A special prize will be awarded to the team that garners the most interactions i.e. likes, comments, shares, etc. on our official Facebook page.

Certificates of participation will be issued.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Registration is open to anyone or group from anywhere.

There is no registration fee.

Photos and videos submitted will belong to the Organizer and may be uploaded on our website and social media for current and future promotional purposes.

Installation Art pieces to be set up at the Boardwalk, Segama KK mid September 2022 for a period of 4 days. The exact dates will be confirmed later.

Dear family and friends,

Its been over 40 years since I began my professional career as an artist.

To celebrate this, I am holding my Retrospective Art Exhibition at the Sabah Art Gallery, Kota Kinabalu MY beginning Saturday, 27th November 2021 until Thursday, 27th January 2022.

This 2 month exhibition showcases over 100 artworks comprising artworks on loan from collectors, artworks from my own collection and even some artworks from my school days!

I am also displaying some books in which my artworks have been featured and also some certificates, brochures and cards too!

If you do visit the land below the wind in the near future, please drop by the Sabah Art Gallery to peruse my artistic journey.
