I can't recall, but did Christian actually say he's a sadist in the books? I can only remember him getting pretty angry when she calls him one. And I agree with the Flynn thing. They definitely skipped out on a big plot line for sure.

Yes he says it in Darker, “I’m a sadist, Ana. I like to whip little brown-haired girls like you because you all look like the crack whore- my birth mother.” 

And yeah I really want to know why they cut out Hugh Dancy as Dr. Flynn.

I loved the movie, but I was disappointed that they did not explain the burns like they did in the book. After they cut dr Flynn at least they need explain more about his problems what do you think about that?

I was also disappointed that Christian’s psychological issues and past weren’t explored as much in the movie. I’m hoping that Freed might explore Christian’s psyche more because there’s a lot less new characters + plot in comparison to Darker!

Dakota’s character has to evaluate what is it that makes her desire Christian, not just because he’s a good-looking man. But she actually begins to want to be in the Red Room with him, to experience the sexuality she was unsure of in the first movie. She has to figure out what’s inside her that’s driving her, where she wants to participate in the same way that Christian wants her to.

Do you think they made Christian too loving, too smiley and taken away too much of his dominant and controlling side?

I don’t think so, I personally prefer the happier, more playful Christian! But yeah I was looking forward to seeing him in his fuck-me-jeans again
