i dont see why i cant start a trend, so here goes. lets try to build back our attention spans. lets try to focus on just one thing for as long as possible. lets not watch those "asmr for people with adhd" videos where they fuck up adhd folks even worse. lets resist the urge to reach for our phones when watching a movie. lets read the articles we reblog, even when theyre boring. i know its hard, i have adhd too, but its worth it. i also know that this hard work doesnt always seem super impressive to other people, so id love for yall to tell me in the tags or replies if youve done something, no matter how small, for your attention span. you deserve to feel like youve taken back some of what social media has ripped from you

The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes

the best part of a summer day is between 6 am and 7 am when the sun is up but it's still cool, without being cold. everyone is asleep. I am energized. I go out to the field and photograph the lake before breakfast. I have bread in the oven. I eat a banana on the porch. I do yoga in my bedroom. the bread is ready. it's 7.30 am and it's still cool out.

Okay but I def believe that the Marauders were so horrible with the notice board in the Gryffindor Common Room that it had to be removed from the tower until they graduated. Here are just a few of the things they definitely posted:

A petition to ban all studying in the Common Room

A fake school announcement making every Wednesday "Dress Like Bowie Day"

Printed photos of the time Peter fell asleep too early at a party and had dicks drawn all over his face

A fake advertisement for "Snape-B-Gone"

Another petition to get James a date with Lily Evans

A sign that just says "Free strips of paper!" and is cut so people can rip a piece off
