AP: very expensive trial treatments?
Me: yes, none of it works.
AP: well I guess you just don’t WANT to get better then.

You aren’t a bad friend for being unwell. You aren’t a bad friend for needing to cancel on plans because you don’t feel up for it. You aren’t a bad friend for not messaging back right away. You aren’t a bad friend for needing to prioritise your well-being. You aren’t a bad friend for not having the energy to hang out. You aren’t a bad friend for needing support or asking for it, or for showing symptoms.
Whether your illness is mental, physical, or both, it doesn’t make you a bad friend. Good friends will understand your predicament and forgive you.

sometimes a distraction isn’t helpful and what you need to do is sit down for five minutes and have a really good cry about it and that’s okay

Support disabled people as they become more public with their disabilities.
You dont understand how hard it is for us to be open, how dangerous it can make social interaction or how quickly it can ruin our careers and put our lives at risk.
Support disabled people who are finally being open about their illness. Support disabled people who no longer hide their symptoms. Who take their meds in public, who use their mobility aids, who are talking about their illness in public.
We need to be there, we need to support them, we need to accept them and fight for them.

Saw my rheumatologist today. Said shes confused and perplexed by me. Thinks I may not have rheumatoid arthritis after all. Thinks I may have lupus and that my fibromyalgia has gotten worse. Thinking I may have mctd, going to ask for a blood test for that. Just want answers...
