a. How would you describe your Math 3 second quarter learning journey?
Tumblr media
Honestly? It felt like a haze. I was only able to follow certain aspects of lessons and not the whole thing whilst I watched my friends grasp it as easy as the concept of breathing. I probably should have put in more effort to actually understand the topics instead of wallowing in my own incompetencies and admiring the rest of my friends who kept calling all the lessons easy because they learned it in elementary school. Where were these topics in my elementary school?????? I felt like such an idiot this quarter that I avoid talking about math to any of my friends because of it. For example they’ll be discussing certain items before asking for my answer and I’ll just say “I don’t remember it” because I now know my answer was COMPLETELY off the mark. Wsjhwjhdk I don’t know anymore sir I'm so sorry :((

b. Which topic did you find most enjoyable? What made it enjoyable for you? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
Tumblr media
Though not necessarily enjoyable, I did most prefer arithmetic sequences since the only formula you had to use most of the time was just aₙ = a₁+ (n - 1)d to find the nth term in the sequence.
Honorable mention: pascal's triangle for binomial expansion. The only thing I know how to do using it however is to find the coefficients depending on the number it's raised to and getting the sum of the row 🫡

"Isn't this from the LT solution paper?"
It is indeed, I'm afraid the rest of the scratch papers I used to solve have been lost to space and time (sorry sir joseph!! ≽^╥.╥^≼)

c. What concepts did you find easy to learn? What do you think made them easy for you?
Tumblr media
The most enjoyable is almost always the easiest, and with that said, I take us back to arithmetic sequences. Why? You find the difference, plug things in and bam, answer!

d. What concepts did you find most interesting/inspiring? Why do you think so?
Tumblr media
The most interesting one for more would be Pascal's Triangle despite the seeming "mundanity" of its pattern. It's fun once you start to recognize it and not gonna lie, nagugulat na lang ako when I find out it can be used in other aspects of precalculus such as binomial expansion and the like.

Arithmetic sequences!!! Only when it's this specific scenario though:

"Why am I getting this sense of deja vu?" Probably because I haven't changed from third quarter and can only handle certain situations. All the teachers in our batch are right at this point, we only eat what's spoonfed to us and I'm a big part of that us 😭🙏 I can now only drop to my knees and beg for forgiveness for my ignorance 😞

f. What concepts have you mastered the least? Why do you think so? Provide clear images of your solutions to sample problems or exercises on the topic.
Tumblr media
It would probably be geometric sequences since we had no lessons on it in exchange for practice time for our Filipino musical (we love you so much po sir Joseph, all of Lithium is deeply sorry if we offended you with our requests for free time 🥹🙏)

g. Honestly, have you developed a better appreciation for mathematics? What lessons, or discussions related to your topics, will you be able to retain throughout your life?
Tumblr media
Hi sir, I’m afraid my appreciation for mathematics is still the same as it was in grade 8 for the whole of grade 9, it leaves the most bitter taste in my mouth at the sound of it.
Will I retain most of it? Probably not. Will I be eaten alive for that as I go up the grades and eventually graduate? Probably.

h. What quick notes do you have for...
Tumblr media
your teacher:
Hello Sir Joseph, you were an amazing math teacher and I’m very sorry for not being able to keep up with the lesson proper most of the time ( • ᴖ • 。)
your classmates:
They’re so cool, shoutout to Margarette Ann and Mikaella because they always have to teach me after every lesson ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა
yourself:
I really have to stop relying on sheer luck to keep passing subjects I’m not good at o(╥﹏╥)o

PHEW. The first question is always the hardest to answer... (◞‸◟;) Sir Joseph, to be honest it feels like a repeat of second quarter. I KNOW I should've improved by now, but I'm starting to think all hope for me in getting a 1.75 grade in Math 3 or above is starting to fade away from vision slowly, inch by inch with every single action I make.

THE BEGINNING OF LOGARITHMS. The olden days where it used to just be questions like: log₂8 ; iff 8 = 2ʸ, find y. Everything else after that either:
made my brain explode or
short-circuited my brain only for it to turn back on again once the discussion was finished
(i'm so sorry sir joseph ( ;´ - `;) )

The concept I found most enjoyable was also the one I found the easiest since it sort of came to me easily. The basics of logarthims on top!!!

d. What concepts did you find most interesting/inspiring? Why do you think so?
Tumblr media
GUILTY CONFESSION AHEAD: Sir Joseph! There was no topic that I found interesting nor inspiring per se because I struggled with all topics.
(I'm so sorry once more ( ;´ - `;) ) The only "topic" I found interesting was witnessing my friends breeze through the more advanced logarithmic equations. My reactions to them teaching me afterwards was just this emoji: ( ˶°ㅁ°) !!

Exponential functions as long as they look like this:
Tumblr media
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. (I'm sobbing on the floor right now. I'm so sorry Sir Joseph ૮๑ˊᯅˋ๑ა) Reason? It looks simple enough UNLESS it's combined with other concepts. I've started to notice a pattern with myself: as long as it's the individual concepts, I can solve it. But once it's combined? My brain decides to fly out a window of some sort.
