POST PLUS IS COMING, WHETHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT!

Despite the fancy survey, changes to the UI and TOS reveal we’re getting the service in the future whether we want it or not. Obviously, Post+ is a terrible idea that is trying to bank revenue on user content. Unlike patreon or onlyfans, tumblr’s primary focus is on FAN content. The legality of this is NOT in the users favor and as the new tumblr TOS states, said users will be entirely liable for whatever legal matters arise.

SO WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Besides filling out the survey, it’s time to show tumblr we mean business and show our displeasure by hitting them where it hurts.

Ad revenue.

We’re proposing a 24 hour log off as phase one of this protest.

Hey guys! I made this survey because I was interested in whether or not there's a trend for where some of the fandom members were going if they've moved on, or even if they haven't, to other pieces of media! I plan to keep it open for at least a week, and will be sharing my findings after it's done!

I saw clips of Grif and Simmons today to get inspired, and there’s this one moment from s15 that just hits me, where Simmons asks Grif why he came back, and Grif gets defensive and says “I dont know” and Simmons replies “Okay.”

That’s it. He doesn’t push it.

That was Dylan’s mistake. All her observations about Grif were correct, but here she comes, basically reading Grif’s file out loud, acting as she knows his entire being - Grif, who doesn’t want to talk about himself, who kept his sister a secret, who gets uncomfortable whenever Kai talks about their childhood. And this stranger is so sure that she has figured him out, and that makes him angry.

Simmons knows Grif well enough to know his boundaries. He knows that another question would put pressure on Grif, that Grif would grow more defensive and clam up and even get angry at him. So he doesn’t ask it.

He says okay, because it’s okay if Grif doesn’t know. More importantly, it’s okay if he doesn’t want to talk about it.

Because Simmons knows that Grif knows, but he also trusts that Grif will tell him once he feels comfortable.

While I wish Simmons would have addressed the hate glue issue, I’m happy we got this.

censoring the vowels in "bad words" is the most pointless gesture tumblr has ever invented, for a website used by people who are theoretically internet literate that's just terrible. do you guys know how these filters work? is there some obscure add-on that this censoring is for? if i block the word "rape" using tumblr's filters it's not going to catch "r*pe" because they're not the same word, so all you're doing is making people who already blocked these terms look at them more. what else is it supposed to accomplish? make people focus on the word more because you butchered the vowels? do you think it somehow makes it so people don't know what word you're saying? why are we treating words that describe atrocities like they're slurs? is it to keep it out of tumblr searches of the censored word? jesus christ tell me there's a good reason and i just don't know it.
