Fast Food Chains and Their Threat to the Environment
So of course we all enjoy our fact food spots. Who doesn't, I would be lying to you if I said I didn't like going to McDonald's at 3 a.m. for a late-night snack. To be honest fast food restaurants are super convenient and accessible and probably near your residence. But let us take the time to think about what is occurring to these animals before they are ready to be fed and cooked for us. The number one problem with fast food chains is how the animals are treated and what conditions they are under. Farmers cram as many animals as they can into one space. The problem with this is that not only is it barbaric, but they start having large amounts of their manure find their way into waterways. When the manure goes into the waterway, it harms and kills fish and causes distress to the ecosystem. Now that we have discussed how fast food chains affect our nation's ecosystem, let us discuss how it affects our nation's overall health. The majority of people on the planet are dependent on fast-food restaurants. Due to financial hardships, a lot of people disregard the harmful consequences of eating junk food on their health. Furthermore, a disproportionate number of individuals lack awareness of the detrimental externalities imposed on the environment by the fast-food business. In my opinion, the prevalence of fast food in our society's diet poses a serious risk to the health of the country.
