I finally bought the Copic Ciao set I've wanted for the past few years. I'm very satisfied and I can't wait to use it more. I really wanna get better at color theory, too.
I also bought the J. C. Leyendecker artbook. I just love looking at his work! It's very practical and has a realistic, yet stylized feel. I really like his work. I also got a Macoto Takahashi artbook. I was hoping they'd translate the book first and was trying to wait. But since his recent death, part of me realized that the book will probably never get translated.😮‍💨 So I bit the bullet and bought it. But his work is so beautiful! Also very detailed and practical, but done in a really cute style! I really love these art deco type drawings. The style is one of my favorite types of art.
My Akira Toriyama artbook seems like it belongs in this category, too. I just love stylized detail!

Ichi the Witch and Shinobi Undercover are both so fun to read! I love that I got to read them from the start. Shiba Inu Rooms remains cute as ever, and The World of SKK girls continues to keep me on my toes. Rugby Rumble is still going strong, too. For now, I'm satisfied with what's being offered by Shonen Jump.

I got all caught up on Black Butler and sustained emotional damage. What a roller coaster! Snake was one of my favorite characters. I'm so sad! I hope Yana Toboso will add a scene where him and the circus crew are happily together in the afterlife. But I don't know if it'll happen, since they WERE kidnapping children. Sure, they didn't WANT to, but even though they were following orders, they were still doing something that they knew was wrong. Not to mention the guy they were working for was connected to the people who tortured Ciel and his brother.
But Snake wasn't involved!😫 He deserved to live!!!😫😫😭😭😭
I'm 1000% sure they're gonna bring him back as a living corpse. But he might choose to help Ciel out in the end. I'm certain Madame Red and Agni are gonna reappear, too.
Speaking of Ciel and his brother, we still haven't found out his real name. I've been calling him "Not Ciel," but I, for one, wanna know what his name is. They're probably gonna show us when he dies and the Shinigami do their stamp thing. I hope it's not Sirius. I'm not sure how I feel about this whole "bait and switch, he has a twin," storyline to begin with, but I feel like Sirius would be too much in a way.
I bet the Undertaker is not an actual villain. Like the whole Itachi situation. He was giving Ciel some kind of serum in his sleep too, wanna bet it's some kind of medicine or protection of some sort? Or maybe he's preparing to turn him into a living corpse, too? What if Sebastian eats his soul but the boy is still walking around? How would that work? And since the Undertaker was a shinigami, can he actually PREVENT Sebastian from eating his soul?
I feel like the Undertaker may be trying to protect the Phantomhives. Something tells me he was in love with Ciel's father, I just kinda get that vibe, but I could be wrong, though.
I wish Snake didn't die. What's gonna happen to all his snakes now?☹️ And what about Soma? I feel like with the way he's acting, he may end up summoning a demon of his own. But I don't know what would happen if the series went in that direction.
Psych House got axed.😔 But it wrapped up nicely, and wasn't dragged out too long, either. No unnecessary twists and turns, and everything was explained enough. There were no unanswered questions.
Fool ended too, but that had to end, the gags were getting ridiculous. I liked the last chapter a lot, though. Addressed the situation in a gag manga kinda way, tied us back to the beginning, and even managed to make us feel hopeful for the characters. I feel the ending was done well.
Shiba Inu Rooms is getting interesting! I didn't expect Mu to manage to leave the room. With this development, I think it will hold on to the readers' interest, and we'll see it develop longevity because of this. There's so many things that we can explore now with Mu's new situation.
I really like Rugby Rumble. I can't believe I'm reading a sports manga.😂 From the beginning, no less. But I like it. It manages to hold my interest every week and even has me on the edge of my seat at times. I LOVE the artwork, too. Stylish and practical. I also love how the sports games aren't dragged on for super long, sure we have to wait for the next week to see what happens, but the pacing is really good, and it doesn't feel like you waited that long at all. Each chapter manages to be satisfying, too. Of course, there isn't a conclusion in each chapter, but we still get some questions answered, which keeps us satisfied regardless, and it keeps the plot at a really good pace. I'm really happy with Rugby Rumble, I think it's super well done.
I've read a few chapters of Gokuragai. I like it, but you can feel that stale shonen jump formula in it. The artwork is top-notch, a treat to look at, really, and I find myself reading it for just that alone. The characters are all super likable so far. In fact, nothing I've read in it has pushed me away yet. It's just...kinda forgettable since it's so shonen standard. I can see it getting an anime and probably becoming one of the next big three in the future.
I like Ichi the Witch. The art is a little cluttered for me, but I can deal with it. It's from the same writer as Iruma-kun, which I LOVE. No doubt Shueisha saw that success and went to try and get some of it for themselves. I personally want it to do well because I like it, and I want the creator of Iruma-kun to have more success. I want this to become a big three, especially since I read it from the start.😊
Shinobi Undercover is cool. It just came out today. It's likable and fun, and I don't have any complaints yet. I like the dynamic between the boy and the person he's communicating with, really funny, really baka/straight man scenario. The other two who were trying to get close to the girl were laying it on too thick, though. Just really unnatural how they were trying to make it normal, and it was kinda cringe. Also, having an organization PLAN out who your boyfriend and best friend are sounds awful! When she (inevitably) finds out, she's gonna feel like her whole life is a lie(and she already has a hunch)! It's gonna hurt when she finds out the boy is in the organization, too. I feel like this is also a big three contender. I hope the story remains interesting.

I had a genius moment this morning. I am going to use Kofi for my official company page. I did plan to start my own publisher, and what better place for it than a place that accepts payments? Although Patreon may be a better bet, because first of all, IT HAS AN APP. And I don't need a blog if I'm just gonna use this one. I'll have to weigh my options. Either way, I'm going to need to set up a company homepage. This tumblr can remain my personal blog. It's also more professional that way.😌
And speaking of blogs, I wanna start a vlog. I keep turning the idea over in my head, I've been wanting to start making videos for a while, a long time, actually, and I always liked the editing part. I figure I should finally just do it, but I'm always worried that I won't post on a regular basis. I'm really bad at self management!😅 But I'm hoping the vlog will hold me accountable, in a way. Like I'll use it as an anchor to remind myself to get down to work(and film it🙃). I've come across quite a few sites that offer free music for you to use. I'm so thankful for those people(my own beats are too embarrassing for me to use🥲). I'd rather leave this part of vlogs to people who know what they're doing.
I've just been really into 2000s otaku vlogs lately, and I really wanna make my own. You don't have to speak or show your face, either. I wanna make my vlog really cute and retro. I also like the way japanese news and variety shows look, too, so I want to use those ideas. It will focus on art at first, but I plan to try other things. There will be no tutorials. Plenty of those are available everywhere, but a behind the scenes type of video sounds good. I really want to try this type of thing, and my brain won't let it go.
So I have a few things to think about for the near future. I just gotta remember to focus and try to get things DONE. I'm tired of having nothing to show for all my ideas!😫

While trying to scroll through someone's page when I WASN'T logged into tumblr, I learned (or rediscovered) that you can only scroll but so far until it prompts you to log in or make an account.
Which is annoying. I hate when sites try to force you to use an account. Even if I HAVE an account, it irks me because it reminds me of all the other sites that do this.
All of this is to say that I believe my official portfolio will be Kofi. I like the setup and the way you can organize. I'll just link it to places as the main place to see my work (if anyone is interested). I'd love to make a neocities, but I just know I'd get too wrapped up in trying to make mine good. I'd like to not develop a new obsession until I get my work ethics under control😅😅😅
Since Meta wants to demand to use your art for AI training, I won't use Instagram unless it's for following my favorite artists or entering contests. I'll split the links up on the front, and it'll be linked under "other links" on the main page (Kofi will go under "main links" instead, along with Manga Plus Creators).
Tumblr will still be a place to see my art and updates. I'll consider it a secondary portfolio, especially since my blog is here. My Kofi page will remain businesslike, and tumblr will be where the fun is. Besides, Kofi refuses to develop an app that would make it really enjoyable for me to use and blog on, which is probably a good thing in hindsight. This way, I am discouraged from rambling on there😅
These changes will fully come to fruition in the coming days. I would like to be more practical and serious about organizing my stuff.

Aaaaaaand we're back with another Elusive Samurai ramble, but it can't be helped! The show is just that good! It's drawn, colored and animated so beautifully. The scene where the priest manipulates the rain is amazing, straight flexing from the studio, honestly. The water is so realistic and beautiful looking, too, it shows you that japanese animation has come a long way. 20 years ago, you would only see attempts at realistic looking water in OVA specials, movies, and maybe the occasional TV series. But here we have what I'm gonna assume is a regular TV series, and the water looks better than the high budget productions from back then. I love to look at it!
There are times when the show takes me right back to the anime of the 90s, not just with the carefully crafted animation, but also with the way it stylistically gets rough looking whenever things get intense, and it's sooooo refreshing, it really makes you nostalgic for that kind of anime again. The exaggerated expressions on the bad guys when they are in their moments during those times are so gross and perfect, they really push the envelope just enough, taking the mood from calm to unnerving at just the right times, and I love it. Coupled with the raw japanese culture, it really really takes you back, and it's such a joy to watch. This anime is really the new hidden gem of this season. The staff and everyone involved are doing a fantastic job!
The climax of the shooting competition was great and well earned, it was just so satisfying. I'm also liking the new theif boy a lot, I don't know why, but I just find him adorable. All the kids are so cute, actually, and it's nice to see them drawn like people and not like pedo bait. I just don't know if I wanna go back and read the manga because I don't wanna spoil what happens!
I also watched Sailor Moon Cosmos. The animation studio did SUCH A GOOD JOB. It's so wonderful to see Sailor Moon updated this way and animated so beautifully, such a perfect homage to the series. The art, designs, the bright, vibrant colors, everything looks so good! Even down to the lineart in the eyes! It's so pretty! It really is something to gush at.
I wonder how Naoko Takeuchi felt to finally see Sailor Cosmos in the anime like she wanted. (There's a message from her at the end, but I'm gonna have to find a translation online🥲) We finally got the wedding, too. (Although I've watched the live action multiple times, so I already got to see them get married on screen in a way.)
I wish we had gotten all the classic music, too, but I've heard they weren't allowed to use it.☹️
My favorite part was that USAGI GOT TO GO HOME THIS TIME! It always made me a little sad in the manga, her civilian mother saying she got the feeling she'll never see Usagi again, and then when they leave the cauldron, they go directly to the thirtieth century, making it seem like she really did just leave her civilian life. I was always so sad about it! You don't even see Luna in that ending! So I'm glad they added a scene for that in the movie where she reunited with her family and the cats. And THEN we get the after credits scene where she gets married.
I really hope Japan starts paying their animators more because they do such amazing work! It was a pleasure to watch these!

I read Empyreal Cabinet today. I like to try the new shonen series so that if it becomes a big deal, I can say I was there first🤣🤣🤣 The first time I tried a newly debuted manga with this clear intent was with Rugby Rumble, and I'm really really enjoying it.
And if I'm curious about a series I don't wanna have to spend a thousand chapters playing catch up. This was a big hurdle for me with MHA, but I overcame and really enjoyed it. It was also fun to experience the ending at the same time as the rest of the fanbase. Gushing about the big moments together in an online discourse is so fun!😊
I'm currently struggling with this hurdle with Dandadan and Black Butler, and I LOVE those manga. But it can be a lot to digest at once, even if I'm in a binging mood. I was a bit late to the party for Dandadan, even though I WAS reading it long before the anime was announced, so yay, I was one of the first!😌
I've been reading Kuroshitsuji on and off for over a decade and finally decided to buckle down and catch up on it this year, so I don't know what to make of that.😅
But Empyreal Cabinet was not for me. Before anything, I will say that the artwork was beautiful and a pleasure to look at. I'm an art lover, a visual person who needs clear art in a comic I'm reading, and when it's also beautiful and practical like it was in Empyreal Cabinet, that's usually enough to get me at least somewhat excited. But while the story was focused, it was incredibly boring. Too many technical terms and formation jargon for me to slog through for a story I'm still trying to see if I even care about. I was able to manage and get a clear understanding of the story, mainly because I wanted to give it a fair chance. (And I also kept saying to myself, come on, you can't get through ONE chapter of a new story? Is your attention span that low?)
I have made it through the first chapter, but was more than halfway finished before I felt even a speck of intrigue. That was on page 46 when they were talking about the high school boys playing a prank. I'm convinced an enemy in disguise dared those boys to commit a prank to let a monster loose. Based on the discussion at the end, I can already see that these monster attacks are probably intentional, and being covered up by the superiors in the organization (yeah, I don't remember the names of anything, I'm already bad with names, but in this manga, I just didn't care😮‍💨). I'm interested to know if I'm right but not interested enough to remember to keep coming back for it every week (like I do with Rugby Rumble, which I why I was even on the app today).
None of the characters interest me. I don't care about anyone's ambitions or motivations, I have no desire to learn anything about them or to see them in action. The main character had this (what I can assume was supposed to be) somewhat badass moment towards the end, but I felt no excitement about it, and didn't find myself rooting for him or any of the others. We learn that he doesn't just roll over and take things, and has a righteous streak and is willing to take accountability, but I just do not CARE. It's not like I DISLIKE any of the characters, they were all just too flat, monotone, and one dimensional for me to care. I'm not saying I need to know anything about their back stories or motivations, I can see they care about their job and want to protect the people, and that's honestly a fine and valid drive for me. I just don't care about them enough to see them do it.
The world building was good, no problems there. It really just felt like Jujutsu Kaisen and Kaiju no. 8 had a baby and the protagonist of Kagurabachi is walking around. But it's like all the necessary story elements are solid individually, but weren't able to create an engaging story together.
Shonen Jump seems to be doing this thing where they're going for more stoic and stone cold protagonists, probably since those characters tend to be popular as side characters. But when they do that, the whole series tends to drag. They're coming out with a lot of manga like this lately, and I can't get into any of them. I think Shueisha should put out a Shonen Jump Dark magazine for all their series like this, since they insist on putting them out.🤣 Anime as a whole used to be more serious and adult like in nature back in the 80s and 90s, anyway, what with things like Golgo 13 and City Hunter. Ninja Scroll is a certified hood classic and Akira is legendary. I feel like Shueisha may be trying to usher back in an era of cool mature works like this in Japan, especially since their birth rate crisis is leaving them with a much smaller fanbase of youth. Less kids mean fewer kids to buy Shonen Jump. At the end of the day, they have a magazine to sell.
It's not just the fantasy series either, Shiba Inu Rooms has a reserved protagonist, and I like her enough. Her dynamic with the dog is cute and sweet. Unfortunately, the story is a bit boring, and I find myself behind a few chapters currently. Sure enough, though, the artwork keeps me coming back for more. The story and characters do their part pleasantly, and the artwork pulled it over the hump enough for me to add it to my favorites.
The dude with the cat was honestly just stupid, and the cat seems out of place with the art style. It actually got on my nerves with how desperately it tried to make its flimsy premise interesting. A house cat also can't actually ease tense muscles with their kneading. They don't do it hard enough for that to even make sense. Just go to a massage therapist, and no, I don't care if he actually has a reason as to why he doesn't, because the whole series was just stupid. Him getting the girl to pet the cat was stupid, too, no self preserving woman would have gone into a guys house to pet a cat. That one was just utter nonsense. I usually don't critique so harshly, but for an author that thinks so little of women, I find no problem.
It's not like I only go for lighthearted series, Drunk Bullet has some fun characters and great art, but I still don't know if I wanna bother keeping up with that. I feel like it might be a banger later on, so I may try to catch up with the chapters while there are still so few of them. I watched Ron Kamonohashi before I started the manga, and while I enjoyed the show, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to catch up on 100+ chapters of detective work, although it may be because I've only read the chapters that were animated so far, so I already knew what was going to happen. The artwork is really nice, and I find myself using it for reference when I need help with natural backgrounds.
I know Shonen Jump wants to fill the hole left by MHA (and soon to be JJK, I've heard), so hopefully more people like Empyreal Cabinet than I did. It may have the potential to start a new big three. It certainly has a similar vibe to Kagurabachi, and that seems to be doing well.
As for me, I'm probably going to drop it. As a fellow mangaka, I like to give series their fair chance, so I'll probably try a few more chapters, but I can tell this one is really not for me. I do look forward to what comes along soon in the future, though. And I hope to be one of the first on the bandwagon if it takes off, too!

I really like The World of SKK girls. It's such an interesting story. Every chapter they're just hanging out but there's a darkness lurking around and SO many unanswered questions. The manga is really well drawn and manages to keep you interested by somehow giving you MORE questions! But the story is written so well that it somehow ties altogether in a way?? I guess???
I have NO idea how to explain it. It somehow manages to blend a cute and fun story about everyday girls with horror and mystery, and it's written SO well. I'm on the edge of my seat more and more with every chapter. That's the best I can explain it.
I honestly would consider it a good read for everybody (so far, anyway). The whole thing, including the horror is appropriate for at least kids 10 and up(it's not THAT scary, but the monsters can be creepy and are probably too much for little kids).
I hope it gets an anime! I'd watch it.

It's becoming increasingly clear to see it was a good call to turn my comments off. When I post things, I tend to hardcore anticipate getting a comment.
I...realize I'm probably the type who would be addicted to attention. I can see myself pretty easily falling into that influencer trap of posting whatever gets the most attention. If I started losing engagement, I'd probably freak out, and I know how insecure I can be. I don't wanna end up subconsciously altering my work to get more views.
I don't need that extra stress. I already stuggle enough as it is. I don't want my every waking moment to be hoping and feigning for new comments. This is just adding to the reasons I keep them off.
Clout really is a drug. People are out here doing crazy stuff to get clicks. I just wanna post my manga and chill (and I mean C-R-A-Z-Y😳). I don't want my work to be influenced by obsessive factors.

☹️ It gets worse. My day has gotten worse.
There's a new vampire series with an antagonist named Pendulum. It's called Trump something(I'm bad with names, but the Trump part of the name stuck out to me for American reasons) and as I was reading the summary and saw that, I felt my heart drop. Now it's gonna look like I copied them, even though Kingdom Pendulum has had its name since before the pandemic. But let's be honest, nobody's gonna believe an indie mangaka from America. They barely even like us in the first place.
This sucks. I was so proud when I finally came up with a name for my series that I liked. Kingdom because it focuses on the relationship between kingdoms, and pendulum, because one of the themes is going to be time and how it is a precious resource. There also happens to be vampires, which is why it feels like people are gonna think I copied them.
I'll just have to live with this unfortunate circumstance, I guess. That's what I get for dallying so long and not getting SERIOUS already. I'm worried people are gonna see it as a cheap ripoff, but I have no intention to turn back now. All I can do is try to make the series as properly as I can.
And make it as close to my own satisfaction as I can. Why try to make a mark on people who are determined to only see the negative aspects of you? Why try to impress people who are determined to hate you? That does you no good. Stay true to yourself because even if you WERE perfect, people who hate you will FIND something to attack you for, or worse, make something up. There's no point.
This is just a lesson that time really IS a precious resource, and it's best to get things done while you can because you just never know.
I'm just going to try really hard to make a comic that satisfies me completely and does all of what I want it to do. I'm sad, but this is life, and all I can do now is use it for motivation to at least stop procrastinating, finally. (And I was already having a bad day, anyway.) These things happen. But now it just feels like I have full permission to indulge in my personal tastes. If for nothing else than to show that I do have my own individuality, regardless of how it looks.

I watched the first episode of The Elusive Samurai, and honestly, 10/10. The animation was *chefs kiss* you could tell they're using computer effects for in-between shots and to aid with his evasion scenes(sort of like flash, I guess?) but they're doing it in a way that blends well with the 2D style, doesn't look awkward, and doesn't take you out of the immersion, it combines just so perfectly. (If Kingdom Pendulum ever got an anime, I'd want it to look like THAT.)
I actually really really REEEEEEAAALLY hate when animation tries to mix the 2D and 3D, I HATE it. I understand 2D animators use it to save time and money, which I totally encourage, honestly, I love efficiency. But it looks so awkward and unnatural to me when they mix it poorly, and it takes me out the immersion of the show. So I'm happy when animators blend it nicely. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto was good at this, too.
The colors are also vibrant and saturated nicely, with each scene's mood conveyed really well. And based on the elusive scenes, I know the fight scenes are gonna go HARD, so I can't wait!
And nobody's voice is squeaky, high-pitched, cutesy, and annoying, either! All in all, it's a really well done show, the team really did their big one. I only read some of the manga so far, so we'll see where it goes.
The priest is super cute, too, I love him(I'm bad with names, I don't know anyone's name yet😅).
I was having a rough day and feeling super anxious, depressed and angry. But looking at all those pretty colors and cool animation scenes managed to ease it for a while.
I'm still in a bad mood, though. But there's not much else I can do about it.

This didn't exactly fit with my previous post but I've gotta mention it.
With the ending of MHA, there is yet another gap in Shonen Jump. I'm sure it'll be filled, but we need to talk, guys.
There's no new big three. There hasn't been for a long time. There are big series, but no definitive trio. Nobody was debating if Bleach, Naruto, or One Piece were the big three. They just were. They all debuted around the same time, had distinctive themes and settings, and were knocking it out of the park on the sales charts. In fact, their era DEFINED the big three. Nobody was talking about a big three in the 90s. Because of them, we're having debates on what should be considered the previous big three.
Personally, I say it was Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin before it was disgraced, and DragonBall Z. But I also feel like DBZ is in a category of its own, as it debuted almost a decade before the others and was already well established. I consider DBZ the grandfather of shonen manga, and to that I say Slam Dunk probably fits in as part of the big three of the 90s. In terms of Shonen Jump manga, anyway.
Yes, Shonen Jump. Stop putting Sailor Moon and Pokémon in there, the big three are a Shonen Jump thing. I really would give Sailor Moon, Pokémon and DragonBall Z legendary status, if we're being honest. They're the grand marshal trio that helped introduce anime and manga to the west. There was a time when people thought every anime was Sailor Moon. Yes, really.
There's actually a ton of legendary anime and manga, but we westerners don't know of them all. That's a discussion for another day, anyway.
But in the new generation, the only "big three" type series we really had was MHA. Knocking it out of the park with battles, arcs, several movies and musicals, sales, etc., only MHA was reaching those heights on a consistent basis. Demon Slayer was popular, but it debuted later, finished earlier, and has an older audience. Jujitsu Kaisen also debuted much later than MHA and has darker tones. In fact, I'd say Demon Slayer and JJK are actually more similar to each other in scale and tone, than they are to MHA (and I'd include Kagurabachi in with this too, they all feel darker in tone to me). MHA was more lighthearted and was more suitable for a younger audience like the previous big three were.
When there are discussions about what the new big three series for Shonen Jump are, My Hero Academia is almost ALWAYS included. Even by people who don't like it. And that is the type of standing I'm talking about.
We don't have that right now. And with MHA gone, we REALLY don't have that. There is no current undeniable big three in Shonen Jump. One Piece is too old, Kagurabachi is too new, JJK is constantly killing off favorites, and Demon Slayer is over. We just don't have a trio like we did back in the day. We don't have a new series where people go, "Do you REALLY watch anime, or is it only Naruto?"
To be honest, I doubt we're gonna get a new trio. Today's demographics are very different. A whole host of issues plague the comics industry across the globe. Tastes vary widely with the selection of online comics available, and you can get your needs met virtually anywhere. The Shonen Jump battle manga formula is beginning to feel a bit stale to me, anyway, and honestly kinda forced, too. Lately, I've only found myself liking things like Shiba Inu Rooms and Psych House. Both just seem to be chill and at their own pace, not trying to set up that first big battle arc that they do to see if a series can hold interest. Maybe it's just me, but that formula is tired. When I detect that that's where a series is going, my eyes just glaze over.
Maybe the gap left by MHA will lead to a new big three, like the ending of DBZ did. They both ended at 42 volumes, too! Or maybe we just have to stop trying to force it like y'all are doing with Kagurabachi. It may just have to develop naturally, instead.
I really want to see a new trio, though. I'm just tired of the Shonen Jump formula they keep regurgitating. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Now that I've read the actual ending of My Hero Academia, (I actually only saw screenshots on Twitter) I have a few things to say.
The ending, in theory, was perfect. It wrapped up nicely, tied into themes of the story, and had a few great callbacks(Horikoshi-sensei is the king of callbacks, honestly). My theory is that when Bakugo reaches his hand out, it's a callback to the whole "take my hand" thing with Aoyama. And speaking of Aoyama, I love that he was in the ending with the rest of the class.
Also, I love that both times, Deku receives his "chance to become a hero" from All Might. And when Bakugo calls him Deku the last time in the end (remember he apologized and was trying to be better, so he was calling him Izuku more) it's Deku as a hero, not Deku the nerd.
I hate that Deku lost his powers, and no, the suit doesn't do it for me(he's basically Ironman, I hate it☹️). But if we're being honest, a few heroes lost their powers, like Hawks and the one from the Pussycats (I forgot her name, but I remember what it does! She can see up to a hundred peoples quirks and weaknesses). Also, let's not forget that some DIED. They really ARE dead(and whatever is going on with Edgeshot). And I always thought La Brava's quirk was really really stupid, but she makes up for it with the hacking. (Side bar, someone pointed out that her and Gentle had wedding bands on. Isn't she too young for him?! I hate age gaps!)
I like that Hawks still meets up with Tokoyami. We got a slight mention of Monama, which I was happy with. I would've loved to see Amajiki again. And class B as well. But if we're honest, Horikoshi put his all into making sure everyone got their Plus Ultra moment during the battle with Tomura, which was super awesome. Including the Shiketsu kids! I was sooooooooo happy when they showed up! So I am thankful for that. With this ending, you can pretty much guess what everyone else is doing with themselves. If Horikoshi-sensei made some one-shot chapters to showcase the others, I would be super hyped to read them. But he's probably done with the series as a whole.
Did you notice Recovery Girl had a syringe for a cane?
Also, STOP FREAKING OUT ABOUT THE WHOLE IZUKU AND OCHAKO THING. They're only in their twenties. I'm sure down the line they do get together and get married.
I like that there's less villans now, too. And Spinner wrote his book! I wonder if it's a comic like Deku suggested.
And what was Tomura appearing for? Why did we need to see him?
Anyway, this is the ending we got, so we gotta live with it...I guess...
Some main characters die in the ending of their series, so I guess this is a happy medium. An imperfect happy medium.
This hurts. I'm gonna be sensitive to MHA related stuff for a while now. There's an awning that a bus I use passes, and it says Tomura on it, for whatever reason(the company name? I dunno). It stung when I first saw it.😣 Emotional damage!!!
This fuels me to make sure my endings will be satisfying, at least to me.

I deleted my works off of Manga Plus Creators. I decided I really wanna push hard to make a comic I'm proud of. I'm gonna do a little revamping and try to curate a decently filled portfolio. It's... a little dry around here, and I want to change that.
I've already decided to redraw the chapters I did so far, but now I also wanna have some buffer chapters ready. My goal is to post the first three chapters on October first. I was happy to have a Halloween debut for my horror series, but if we're being honest Halloween is at the END of the month and it...doesn't make sense to post something new at that time. It's like how music artists will release their intended "song of the summer" around the end of spring so people can enjoy it all summer. It's so they can get into the groove of it first and grow on people if need be. The tune is already in your head by the time it's playing on the stereo at a nearby party. It's kinda awkward to just start getting to know something DURING the time you're actually supposed to be enjoying it. If that makes sense.
I may try to go for creating a whole mini arc to keep in with the spirit of the season. On Halloween itself, I intend to post a fun image. Comments will be off this time, as I'm really enjoying not having them. It's kind of freeing. Instead of posting things in the hopes of getting tons of likes and comments, that subconscious sort of "need" is gone, and I can just focus on doing good work. I really like it.🙂
Anyway, I'll be doing some cleaning around here, too. Gotta keep the focus on what's important. I feel like I have many posts that don't serve my purpose well. So I wanna tie up loose ends.
I'm gonna do a new cover, too! It's a little embarrassing to keep restarting with the same cover from two years ago (man, time flies😣). It's like, "Come on, haven't you drawn anything new? Have you improved at all over the past two years?" It feels like I'm dragging it. I want to do this thing right, once and for all.

Today is my birthday and it was going nicely until I SAW THE MHA SPOILERS AND I AM SO HURT.😭 I didn't want a bittersweet patchwork ending, plot armor that bad boy and give Deku his powers back!!! I can't concentrate on anything else tonight. I just...I just need time to process this.....it's so hard being a fan...of anything🥺
What a lovely gift, Horikoshi sensei🥲 Now I'm REALLY on the fence about whether or not I'm gonna buy the whole series. This ending has me so so torn🥲 (I'm probably still gonna get it, once I come to terms with it.)
At least Deadpool and Wolverine was good. I mean it was a really well made movie. I was very impressed. It checked all the Marvel boxes and still managed to be unpredictable and funny. It was REALLY well done. Kudos to the team who worked on that, honestly.
I'm still having a hard time with the MHA ending, though. Although there is a fun fact, it ended in 42 volumes, just like the original Dragonball did! So that must feel pretty cool. Like a small homage to Toriyama-sensei, who recently passed (no way that was planned, though).
See you in your next series, Horikoshi-sensei.
Thanks for all your hard work!
おつかれさまでした😭😭😭

I just wanna go on the record and congratulate the creators of NoName for getting serialized Shonen Jump plus. It really IS super cool, and I probably would be super excited if it were me. I'm happy for them.
I also wanna make it clear that I'm not butthurt or jealous, I am very secure in my own capabilities. These are just my thoughts and observations.
NoName's serialization has raised eyebrows because the creator is already successful, but I think that's just what publishers do, hire people with a good portfolio. That's what ANYONE does. It really is that simple. It's not nepotism, and Manga Plus Creators is not the scam or "dungeon" some people think it is. You can still get noticed on the site, same as with other social media. If you do great work on a consistent basis, promote yourself, and demonstrate to publishers that you can sell, they'll be interested in you. That's business.
I think people are getting tripped up by the fact that other great creators on the site received low accolades for their equally awesome work. Put plainly, a few great creators deserved gold. I won't give names to protect their privacy (I actually have a list, too), especially because of what I'm about to accuse Shueisha of, but some of the work there is really good and even better than some published works I've seen, including things running in Shonen Jump. It really bugs me to see good work getting shafted, and honestly, it feels like Shueisha doesn't wanna award people properly because they don't wanna admit amatuers actually can do good work, even without their input. It's like it's a pride thing. Admitting newbies actually did well without their formula is like admitting their way may be going stale or worse, admitting Shueisha may not be necessary at all.
The lack of actual winners ended up working against them as a lot of people stopped taking the site seriously, and it's much less common to see strong contenders there now.
NoName getting serialization is really cool, and I'm sure it was well deserved (I didn't read it because I dont like Sci-fi, but the art looks really good). I'm not butthurt because I've never won anything, it's the bait and switch that annoys me. I don't think they ever actually planned on giving ANYONE the top prize.
When I was a kid, this announcement would've been a game changer. It would have made me super enthusiastic about making manga and trying really hard to follow in those footsteps. But it feels more like they panicked when they saw people leaving the site and finally awarded a gold and gave someone a serialization to try and kick more people into gear.
Other creators on MPC also do really good work, but since they're newbies, Shueisha probably directed them to their Viz Originals editors for some coaching, if they contacted them at all. I don't know any of this for a fact, but I do know that Viz is owned by Shogakukan and Shueisha, so it would make a lot of sense.
I don't know what the future holds for that website, but I have a hunch that it might be time to start thinking outside the box.

Clip Studio Paint has a share function. I just discovered it. Another reason to like the program. I reeeeeally like the idea of having a one-stop link to post my art on blogs. I don't know how it works yet, but I'm imagining some sort of viewer? Like Adobe Flash or something like that. I'll test it out. I had such a huge amount of trouble first posting my comic to tumblr. I had to resize every image, pray it would upload, and then organize it in the post. It was a real hassle. (At least on Manga Plus Creators, you just have to pray it will upload. Mine tends to drop images.) If I just had a link that would set up a viewer? That would be awesome!! It would make the process so much easier. I'm really hoping for it to work well on Tumblr, too. A viewer probably won't work on Instagram, but I'll try it on Cara since Cara has a feed.
