Anthropocentrism
Anthropocentrism is the belief that humans are the top of the food chain metaphorically or literally. I’ve done some reading about the Fae hexing (I know lol last weeks news) that have brought up the falsehood of anthropocentrism, and it’s also a thing I’ve been contemplating for a few weeks now. The Fae don’t need a human to “help” them just as much as a deity wouldn’t. They are beyond powerful beings when put next to a human. It’s the same in nature. Humans are not the top of the food chain. We are nothing compared to a bear, lion, pack of wolves, or any other wild predatory. We may have technology to help us take on these creatures, but if we walk in unprotected feeling superior, we will be met with a bigger badder entity. That’s the same with the Fae. They have their ways. They will carry out what they see is just.
I recommend this article since most of what I said is written within it.
Beyond that, the world doesn’t revolve around the human race. Any deity or magical being can easily survive without us, and they have for plenty of time. I must say that I don’t think that humans aren’t a player and that we should be rid of humans because that’s far from the truth because I believe we can have such beautiful relationships with this world and the many entities that inhabit it. We must not let our ego downplay the power of those around us and convince us into dangerous situations with forces we must be careful around.

I try so hard sometimes to find which Element is “truly me,” but I can never come to a conclusion. While reading just now, though, I found that Empedocles from Ancient Greece believed everything contain all four elements within. I think that’s the truth. We don’t follow the path of one Element. I’m not just Fire because I can be hotheaded nor am I just Earth because I’m a Capricorn. I am all. And from the fusion of the Four is where Aristotle says the fifth come from, the spirit, intermixed amongst them.

Books I’ve Read
Wicca - Scott Cunningham - Good starting spot for books. Some points are dated as it was written in the 80′s. As with all knowledge of Wicca/Pagan/Magick take what you will from the book. Contains the author’s Book of Shadows.
The Way of Four - Deborah Lipp - Out of print but available as an Ebook and sometimes used. Explanation of the four Elements and their interworkings.
