Ok, I'm gonna be REAL controversial for a second:
Saying "incest and underage fics are ok because it's usually CSA survivors recontextualizing/processing their own experience" is just purity culture lite. It's like saying "Birth control should be legal because some people use it for non-birth control related purposes" or "abortion needs to be legal because women can die without it."
Yes, these are TRUE and IMPORTANT things. But kind of... not the point?
Kind of giving way to the antis, the puritanical right, the misogynists who just want to control women (because you KNOW they aren't thinking about trans men or nonbinary people when they legislate abortion).
Lemme see if I can explain: by saying "look at this VALID and IMPORTANT reason someone might have for doing the thing you don't like," you are saying that there are invalid reasons for it. That some people shouldn't do it.
You are saying that it is objectively wrong, and that exceptions must be made for it to be okay. And putting aside the fact that NO ONE should have to disclose their personal trauma for judgement, that no one should have to disclose their personal medical history to a judge or legislator before receiving treatment... you are conceding the point.
I refuse to concede anything on this.
I like fucked up fic, I like being able to fuck without getting pregnant, I like that if my birth control fails I can still make a choice about whether or not I want to be pregnant and give birth. I WILL NOT go into my reasons on ANY of this. Because YOU do not have a right to that information, and I am also protecting the privacy of everyone else who does not want to share their reasons.

honestly kinda annoyed by the new Shaun video where he goes to extreme lengths to say how he's actually completely fine with sexualised, objectifying depictions of women in games, but finds their characters to be boring - to the point of doing so about a character named 'loli big-boobs' who he assures us he's fine with people liking.
like, he manages to understand that the point of all the blatant fanservice and objectifying portrayals of women is done so as to assert male control and female exclusion of the medium, to communicate who is and is not considered a valid audience and subject of the work - but, like most breadtubers, fails to put this specific insight into a more general theoretical basis, in this case, the fact that the objectification of women is not simply a coincidence, not just being used because it happens to call back to some era of video games people liked as children, but specifically because the objectification of women is, in and of itself, regardless of any nostalgic cultural zeitgeist it supposedly calls back to, a way by which men exclude and marginalise women.
cus like, that's the thing, right? it's not just 'playing up early 2000s game tropes to pander to a specific crowd of gamers', it's objectifiying women to pander to men who are afraid their dominance over women is fading. acting like the sex-doll female characters are basically as neutral and happenstance as big meters on the interface is a completely superficial argument that completely sidelines misogyny. but yeah like congrats, you're a dude who doesn't have a problem when female characters are put in bikinis

Japanese media tends to treat pre-teen and teenage characters like human beings with the exact same emotional range and independence of thought as adults, and thus treats them the same as adult characters with respect to violence, sexuality, independence etc.
And that pisses off a lot of western people who hate the thought of treating people being full human beings prior to adulthood.

"ha ha i'm whatever gender has the shorter bathroom line 😆" wow fascinating that you can go in either bathroom unchallenged, and that this is comfortable for you, to the point that you can make a joke about how it's so easy that trivial considerations like how long the line is can prevail. as for me, i don't feel safe no matter which bathroom i go in, and if i'm perceived as being in the "wrong" one the consequences range from intense social discomfort to police involvement to grave & immediate interpersonal violence. but hey, describing or naming this vast gulf between our experiences would be divisive, so better to just pretend this is a ha ha funny joke that ALL trans people are in on, right? because the word "transmisogyny," while apt and descriptive and applicable to this situation, is just so ugly, right? anyway, funny joke! i'm SO glad you're having fun

it was pretty convenient for american history textbooks that the hindenburg burned swastika side first so they could use pictures of that without doing some very awkward explaining about why there was a nazi airship docking in new jersey

trans girl: i wish the world wasnt so cruel to me just for being my authentic self
genderfuck millenial with "fuck terfs" in bio: see THIS is why we need to be kinder to men & males. people are treating this person so bad for what? bc they're male? bc they seem masculine? trans men also face this too, and cis men tbh. the world is just so fucking cruel to masculine people. trans men's liberation now.
they/he ex terf mutual who still rbs from the "nice ones": the oppression people face when they present as afab is so real. afabs know what its like to be hurt like this. female socialisation makes the world so violent for us. like it cannot be overstated the kind of violence we face just for the way that we are born.
trans girl: you guys dont make me feel all that safe or understood actually
transandrobro who is actively participating in the harrassment campaign of 5 other women: i just fantasised about killing you
