My sister and brother were both out of the city around the same time – visiting a friend in Paris and going to camp respectively – leaving me to embrace the life of being a single child for two days! I had a great time with my parents. Day one we went to B&Q and IKEA and I treated them to dinner (what a wonderful daughter I am, I hope to have a daughter like me in the future). Day two we went to Bella Italia for dinner and some light shopping. I also did some driving finally because my mum got me a month’s insurance for now. I almost crashed a car when parking on the first day of driving (oops) but their car is fine, our car is fine, and I am fine. If anything had happened I think I’d be too shook to ever drive again in my life haha. But the two siblings came home and ruined all my fun… I had a great time alone to be honest; I think it was the first time any one sibling had been alone in the house which is actually quite odd but surprisingly enjoyable.

This month also marks the first time I’ve gone out with just my brother. He is very lazy and hates leaving the house so obviously we go out but as a full family, but I had to go into uni to fill in a form and he hasn’t seen my uni before and my parents were going out so the house would be empty. I told him to come along with me to uni and that I’d even treat him to lunch. We went, had a very cute afternoon, some bomb lunch, helped out a blind guy and had a little walk around the shopping centre before returning home. Very nice day with the alien brother!

I finally got around to going for bibimpap again but with my sister this time. She’s only ever gone once with the fam and I’ve been 4 times including this instance. The bibimpap was bomb as per, and because we shared one, we could afford to get a little side as well. So as well as some kimchi, we also going some fried chicken because Korean fried chicken is supposed to be really good. We got it with some sweet soy sauce, I can’t remember exactly but W O W IT WAS A M A Z I N G ??? We were so shook over how good it was! I have to go again for sure for this fried chicken.

MY EXAM RESULTS CAME OUT THIS MONTH.
Yes, I passed everything! Got a 1st for accounting, a 2:1 for three modules including finance, and a 2:2 for both economic modules (can you tell economics isn’t my thang).
I think I got a 2:1 overall which I’m very pleased about because first year for me is worth 10% towards my degree, and I knew I really didn’t work as hard as I should have, so a 2:1 is pretty darn good!

So weather has been good this month so I started to get back into some cycling! I went out with my sister and she just sat in the park the whole time, but I went on a cycling ride around the little parks in my area, and I cycled for a whopping hour and a half! Legs were a little stiff the next day but nothing hurt more than my butt. Why does cycling hurt your butt so much? Why are the seats so hard? Struggles…

It was also father’s day this month, and just a tiny mention about the bomb ass card I made for my dad. I did this amazing cactus drawing on the front of the envelope and it was so cute and just so perfect that I almost didn’t want to give it to him because I wanted to keep the envelope and frame it to put on my wall or something haha. But he loved it, presents were all good.

There were like three days where the weather in London was over 35 degrees, which never happens. To fully experience this miracle, I met up with my sixth form friends at the park for two days in a row. It was nice to catch up as well as soak up a bit of the rare London sun!

So me and my siblings are not really a baking people, but my sister and I always attempt baking for family birthdays and such. This year for my mum’s birthday we tried making a Victoria sponge, and it turned out so well. The mixture already looked better than our other baking attempts so we had a good feeling about it. And when it came out of the oven, it was beautiful! We decorated it with some Greek yoghurt, jam, strawberries and raspberries so it was a very healthy homemade cake! Very proud of us.

I went out a few times with my friend, Hoe. I’ll just bunch these highlights together haha.
So we had a nice time at canary wharf not long after my birthday for a cute catch up and so that she could give me my presents. We had some nice wasabi for lunch then had a funny time at cha time. We had no idea about their sugar levels and stuff so when the cashier asked us we just said “uh, normal? In the middle?” but when we later saw the description we realised that normal meant full sugar! So we were freaking out about getting fat lmao but we promised that when we go next time we’ll order properly. We also attempted to take some aesthetic photos of each other but we were right by the river side and it was hella windy so that didn’t turn out as well as we had planned them to… Oh well…
Second outing was to westfield. Didn’t buy too much but she managed to buy this really pretty dress out of Quiz. We also went into select and oh my their clothes are stunning yet so expensive (crying in the corner because I’m broke).
Last outing was to Romford, around her ends. She always talks about how ratchet and gross it is but it wasn’t that bad haha. We walked around a few shops and then we went bowling. This was the funny part; our lane kept freezing on us so we had to keep awkwardly going up to the counter to tell the lady to fix it, and we ended up having to move lanes twice before we finally got a working one. But the lane that finally worked didn’t have that barrier thing on the sides so we basically sucked big time. Our aim is so off we are incapable of throwing a bowling ball in a straight line, and I swear those things always swerve so hard? But in the end I won with 70 something points, I’m so proud of myself ahaha!

The end of May also marks my brother and I’s birthdays! His birthday is the day before mine and since little we’ve always celebrated together just because it’s easier. On his birthday we had a cute little family bbq in our balcony. On my birthday we had a hot pot and I also finally watched Train to Busan. What a movie, definite 10/10 recommend. The storyline is clutching and it isn’t really a horror so it is not scary. It is tensing from the moment they get onto the train, and the ending is heart wrenching (don’t want to spoil anything).

I applied for this tutoring position through my university the other time and successfully passed into the next interview phase which happened this month. All in all it went quite well, there was a group task where we had to explain fractions as if teaching younger children and that was followed up by some individual interview questions concerning motivations for applying and why I thought I’d be good for the post.
Glad to say that I got the job! I start in October and it runs throughout the academic year. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve always wanted to get into a little teaching/tutoring so this will be a really good experience and I hope it is also a rewarding one.

I also went on a spontaneous morning trip over to Canary Wharf with my sister. We were just going over to paperchase, boots and monsoon because I’ve been wanting to buy a new purse for some time now and monsoon had cute small ones that I wanted. I did successfully buy a new purse and signed up for the loyalty card thing just because it gave 20% your first purchase, and who doesn’t love discounts? I highly doubt I’m ever going to shop there again but hey ho.

I don’t know why I somehow only got around to doing this May Highlights when it’s almost the end of June. Sorry about that, heh.
So, May is the month of exams, unfortunately. I had 3 this month because I had some January exams for a few modules, which is good because it puts less pressure on May exams.
First FMBS. Not too bad. Questions were eh. I finished about 15 minutes before so I was about to leave early but you can’t leave the examination in the first hour and last 15 so guess who had to aimlessly sit there until the end of the exam? But I was worried about this one because I felt that the tutorials didn’t really help that much and I didn’t have a lot of questions to practice with so I thought I was seriously not ready for it.
Next accounting. This one went well I methinks, despite my balance sheet not balancing (cries in the corner because I practiced these so many times). Another annoying thing in the exam was that there was a mistake on the first question like right at the top and they only told us like almost an hour and a half into the exam and that number kind of affected the main answer. Although not necessary to start the question again from scratch, a lot of people did and were complaining. I however didn’t because actually it only affected about three calculations so all was well.
Final exam macroeconomics. I thought it wasn’t that bad but I basically used the same graph for all three of my 20 mark questions because it was seriously just applicable to everything? I don’t even know, I wrote everything I could, it was hard trying to choose which questions to pick because I felt my knowledge of all of them were mediocre. But I finished early and just left, I don’t think I even read over my answers. It gets to a point in the exam season where you’re just like screw it I’m done I’m out bye.
Results come out late June (they are already out but let’s talk about them in the June highlights where they’re supposed to be).

Not quite sure why it took me an embarrassingly long time to revamp my blog. It’s finally done now: new name, new icon, new theme, a whole new look!

Final highlight of the month – starting work! Shifts aren’t that bad, some are quite long (i.e. the terrible 8 hour Sunday shift) but nothing is too hard. I’ve worked 20+ hours this month, but I’ve yet to complete all the relevant forms and such so I haven’t been paid yet. I hope I will soon…
And that’s it for this month’s highlights. I think I like this layout more. I’m not sure… Who knows when I’ll change it again, haha.
Exams hit next month and I am not looking forward to it one bit. Please wish me luck…

I met up with my friend hoe twice this month.
I went to her house and we watched this anime film called ‘Your Name’. It was released at the end of last year and it’s quickly become one of the highest grossing movies of all time, and when you watch it you totally understand why. I don’t want to write spoilers but the plot line is amazing. I think the end has a little bit of a loop hole because of time travel issues, but my friend didn’t get me, and my siblings have yet to watch it (we’ve planned to watch it together in June when exam season is done) so hopefully they can answer my queries. But the animations are stunning, and it is very clearly explained for quite an intricate storyline. I’d rate this a 9/10, it will be 10/10 if the plot hole I consider can be explained by my siblings.
We also met up for pizza express and to revise. We had some very nice creamy pasta before she sneaked me into her uni library and we actually did substantial work for around an hour which is really good, we assumed we wouldn’t do much. We also bought these hella yummy tea cakes from M&S which I took home and ate over like a week.
