Minor racing injuries today.

Electron and I got minor friction burns from some hotshot trying to send me into the wall but the repair trucks got us all fixed up and we did finish the race in second, meaning we get to advance.

My leg just kinda hurts now.

Elvis did good in his race but I think he’s trying to hide an injury of his own. Kinda concerned since I’m set to go with him on our next set.

I keep forgetting how tiring racing season is.

Race, wait for results, go to the next location, get told where you’re sleeping, sleep, look at the track you’re racing on, race, repeat.

I love it, I really do, but I’m tired. At least if we make it to the finals there’s a bit more time despite races being back to back.

Some assholes are STILL shooting fireworks almost a week later.

I know they’re on “post 4th of July sale”! I don’t care! It’s loud and they give me a headache!

I just acquired some earplugs actually so you can keep those, you never know when you might need them.

I’m gonna go get the freight shed tidied up a bit, anchor bodies want to have visit over later and I need a spot to hide from the fireworks, the sound messes up my radio signals.

Despite the torrential downpour we got yesterday the qualifiers went fine.

Electron and I progressed to the next stage and Elvis and Dinah as well meaning the team stays together.

I’m really liking the team based pairings and races we’re having this season, lots of fun so far.

A “friend” huh?

My main advice would be that racing is a lot like dancing. You have to be in tune with your partner and relax into it or you could take a tumble.

Oh, and familiarize yourself with your brakes. You want braking to come almost naturally so you’re not derailing when taking turns, sharp corners are particularly tricky to beginners. And I might have an easier time as a caboose/brake van since braking is second nature to us but trust me, racing IS like dancing, you learn techniques that work for you the more you do it.

So yeah! Just relax, get in tune with your brakes and follow the locomotive’s lead!

We told CB that the bird he mentioned in his last post is simply wary of him now because birds don’t like being grabbed by things they see as a threat and he is much bigger then it.

He seems to have forgotten about the fact birds are in fact prey animals despite us having this conversation already.

We at the Amphitrite yard are trying to keep our rolling stock from harassing the wildlife but they seem to not grasp that the birds that choose out yard as a nesting ground are not pets. The rest of the freight have been warned to stay away from the nests.

I offended a bird today.

I just wanted to make sure the bald spot on the back of his head wasn’t due to a parasite so I caught him and brought it to a human to examine.

Good news, it isn’t. He’s just molting and it’s peak breeding season. Bad news is this bird is basically giving me the death stare every time I walk by the tree now.

Congratulations on figuring something out about your identity!

I know figuring myself out wasn’t easy so I’m proud of you for making a discovery.

I learned some interesting things last night.

I learned that I’m aroace and that Blue Lightning and I were dating when I thought we were just hanging out together.

But the good news is that Blue and I decided to continue dating as queer platonic partners! I really like the cuddles and the gift giving stuff but I don’t like the kissing stuff so yeah!

Everything is turning out well :D

After much deliberation, I have decided on confiscating the Hip Hoppers’ phone and only allowing them to use it for the appointed hour long FaceTime sessions with the Rockies from @cinnamon-badger ‘s yard.

This will continue until much more improvements from all three of them.
