Diary - 22/03/2012
Today went really well - we made a lot of progress. First, we swapped roles *again*, but now we're all happy so it works out. We started straight from the first scene and worked our way on from there. We ran each scene through, before thinking of any edits and applying them. We managed to get through about 3 and a half scenes this way.
Our characters really started to develop as we got more used to playing the roles. We have started to act them out better without need for any external input, and can spontaneously act out scenes.
Also today we managed to have a look at the lighting effects, which we have started to plan out. We just need to sort out the exact cues and it's ready - each of our characters also has their own unique colour that reflects them - for example, my character has a blue light, due to his cold attitude towards Stephen.
Sometimes it feels a bit awkward or difficult to act out the parts, because of what you're saying and doing, it feels very uncomfortable. But you need to remember that's the point, and so the audience can see the effect.
Next lesson the plan is to finish off the lighting along with the final two scenes, along with polishing off anything. I think the first and last 'identification' scenes could use a bit of work personally, so I'll be working on that. We may stay an extra lunch time to get part of it sorted, I suggested.
