Future and torture for the ask meme 😈
Nah this ask is straight up eeevil (thanks i love it hehehe >:})
future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?
The worst future? The canon one :) Are the twins aware? Nope, what they think is the worst possible outcome for them doesn't come close to what awaits them in the future (though Anillis did try to stay away from both religion AND politics, didn't save him from becoming a cult leader AND the next Prime)
torture: Would your OC ever torture someone else? Has your OC ever been tortured?
Listen, its Horde Prime we're talking about lmao. But before becoming a tyrant? Well, he did try to cut animals open to see what happens sooo- Hec-Tor, on the other hand? At first I wanted to say no, but then I remembered what he did to some of his annoying suitors who wouldn't leave him alone ._.
But have the twins themselves been tortured? I guess whatever they had to go through back at the temple can count as torture. Being electrecuted and nearly drowning in a cursed lake? Being forced to drink each others blood? One brother being forced to watch the other be punished and listen to his screams? And that's just the events that were mentioned in the introductory fic
Now, if you think about it, the Kur brothers living under the same roof is also some type of endless "torture" :D Like, one moment it's peace and quiet and then the next thing you know the twins are destroying each other's fragile egos for sport

(to clarify - these bits are from two different conversations lol)

Kinda crazy how speaking English is almost a form of literacy without which your access to the relevant scientific and sociopolitical conversations of our time is seriously limited.... Thank God I started reading yaoi fanfiction on American websites at age 14

sunshiney characters who adore the mean grumpy character, platonically or romantically, but not DESPITE them being mean as if that isn’t who the other “really” is deep down. they love it. they think the other is the funniest cleverest most delightful person alive

When I was younger, I wish someone had told me straight-up that not all adults experience “a calling”. That many of them never find particular purpose in a career. That sometimes, their job is just what pays the bills and they have to seek satisfaction and fulfillment elsewhere.
Because as an adult, this pervasive notion that there exists a perfect path for everyone, that people should love what they do, and that work is meant to function as a vehicle for fulfilling a person’s grand life destiny is not only inaccurate for many of us, it can be toxic.
The ideal is so ingrained that I have to remind myself constantly I’m not a failure because I don’t adore my job, and because I’m not rocking the world with my work. That is okay.
Sometimes, work is just work. There isn’t always a perfect career path, magically waiting to be discovered. There might not be this THING you were born to do. Sometimes, you discover that what you really want to be when you grow up is “paid”.
