and she does all these pinterest crafts and now she makes little bejeweled vials of healing potions for him and his buddies. my little geek heart can’t handle all this.

Rewatching Clarence, makes me happy. It's just. Neurodivergent and/or "weird kids" having fun and being accepted despite their eccentricities. Being mean to the weird kids is a bad thing, unlike in most media where its that most common thing out there. It's like everything I've ever wanted in the past and even now.

Just realized Shouta Hayashi (Akito's soccer friend from the summer festival and 2nd anni events) and Shuuta Hayashi (one of Rui's pandemonium friends) have the same last name, same kanji and everything

This is just the best possible exploration of the ArcLand offer, and the best use of the divergent timeline thing for WxS. Like, the theme of these WL2s is that these character’s lives are most fulfilling next to each other, here’s how they would’ve fared if they divorced, and ultimately there’s something magnetic that leads them back to each other.

Once the ship sailed for Rui telling the others about the ArcLand offer in the moment, there’s not a single time it would be sensical for him to bring it up, and there’s ultimately a huge amount of conflict for WxS knowing that Rui passed up the chance of a lifetime to be with them. That’s heavy!! Like, the only thing that comes of that is an inevitable divorce because they don’t want to hold him back from his dream (evidently!) or a pervasive feeling of guilt of the like, necessity that they stay together because he sacrificed that much for it. Like a need to prove or make it worth it, rather than the mutualism of wanting to stay together cause they love each other. Unless Rui Kamishiro can convince WxS that he knows how he feels and knows what would make him satisfied, and that satisfaction not being “creating the best show possible” (or rather, that “the best show” as it means to Rui is something that can only be made with WxS), all predicated on Rui being able to articulate all that decisively enough to be believed and not hurt anyone. Can you imagine?

Fundamentally, if they’re gonna know what was on the table at all, to know for certain that none of them would be happier if Rui took the ArcLand offer, if they all chased their dreams separately, requires some insane timeskips they can’t pull off in a single event without fucking everything up or a commitment to an entire multi-month to year long divorce arc with the end of them getting back together painfully obvious. Otherwise the “what-ifs” will stay in their heads, like a weight around their ankles. This, explicitly showing the ramifications of that what-if, blasts it out in one fell swoop, giving a meaningful exploration of the concept while not dragging out the only conclusion there is. This is the what-if to knock out, it’s awesome.
